Here from Hamburg Continental/United operated one of the longest 757 flights ever for 11 years -- 8:40-9:00 hours westbound to Newark. When they took off near of at MTOW in Summer you could see the rare sight of a 757 using loooots of runway and climbing comparably slow -- for a 757 ... Unlike 95%+ other flights they always taxied to the furthest end of the runway to make sure to not waste any runway.
:'( i wanna fly on one..one last time. Best single aisle aircraft boeing will ever make. ETOPS rated, best shortfield performance. RR engine has best maintenance stats. Best in class climb performance. OMG Boeing screwed up not upgrading this plane and focusing on the 737
@@davidserranoayala4626 Luckily the Charter Airline Jet 2 in the UK still has a few of them and plans to keep them for a few more years yet. In fact the last time I flew (September 2019) was on one G-LSAN. Cracking flight on the 4.5 hour flight from Rhodes to Manchester UK. The 757 will always have a special place.
I share your love of the 757 with the Rolls Royce engine. With it's overpowered engines and huge wing, it is truly the "hot rod" of the commercial air fleet. Nothing is better than that kick of acceleration you get screaming down the runway and the steep climb. It's like being on a Six Flags ride.
This sound is for commercial airplanes, what the DSB ME diesel locomotives are for trains, seriously, look it up, the sound is the same type of high pitched spinning up as this.
The 757 is just a truly amazing jet which (imo) should never have been discontinued. If Boeing had a little more faith in the 757, I’m sure there would’ve been a lot more orders as airlines have recently discovered how to take advantage of the incredible range of this aircraft. I dread the day that the last 757 is retired from service ☹️
I litterally want to ride these not for the vacation but just for the engine buzz of these bad boys. Why doesn’t RR drop the noises the engines make as albums?
I just love the 757-200 with RB-211 engines! My very 1st 757-200 experience was with Airtours International from Glasgow International to Gerona in May 1998. I was 14 years old and loved it then. Fast forward to 2021 and I still love it! Will be a sad day when the 757 retires.
My last flight in a 757 was an Eastern A/L 757, from San Jose, Costa Rica to Miami....love those RB-211's......and even Eastern A/L.....and yes the 757 is a sports car of the air !!!!
One of my favorite airplanes 757, fantastic engine sound, and what a wonderful view. This is one of my favorite videos, and I've seen a lot. Stunning, and Thank You!
I flew the 757 with RB211s for many hours on domestic and transatlantic flights as a Continental pilot out of Newark. It will always be my favorite Boeing.
Undoubtedly one of the best takeoff videos I've ever seen: fantastic location and view, legendary aircraft and sound and outstanding flying technique. In other words this video, describes meticulously my idea of the word "flying"
Notice on the engine nacelle at 2:36 that the landing lights come on. At that time the pilots got takeoff clearance, it takes them just a matter of seconds to get airborne.
Fantastic sound. One of the best on YT. I like the noise abatement bit where he throttles back in the climb. Didn’t like the first time I experienced it though - thought the engines had failed 😮
Jet2 has a number of 757s and I’ve flown several times on G-LSAD. It’s a wonderful plane and I can’t understand why it’s out of production. It will be a sad day when they’re all finally retired.
The Rolls-Royce RB -211 go as far back as the Lockheed Tri-Star l-1011 which had three rolls royces RB 211s, on certain 747s also had the Rolls-Royce RB 211's
Interesting comment..Some B747 operators used the RB211...I've flown on more than a few european carriers (B747-200), and most used the GE CF6-50. The US carriers were using the JT9D variants.
This engine spool up sound at the takeoff alone was worth choosing the 757 flight!!! I flew 757s between Hamburg and Newark many times, I love the 757 and do not have any issues spending 9 hours in it. Sure the cabin is narrower but also theres less seats ... Still more space than in a 10 abreast 777 for example.
Thank you very much for a great video. On the United 757-200, which row in Polaris do you think gives you the best view of the RB-211s? Would you recommend row 4 from which you took this video, or perhaps row 2 or 3? I just ask because I want to get a great view on my upcoming flight.
Given the choice of flying in any commercial jet i would still choose the 752. It may not be the quietest or the most spacious but it's still the best.
I’m a narrow body guy I love theses 757’s I’ve had an idea to overhaul one and make it economically and environmentally friendly I’ve made this acronym called (LELF) less emissions less fuel For the 3 engines the two RB211’s and the apu and then adding two electric generators on the main engine and one more on the apu making 6 generators total and removing the ventilation for the ptu and replacing with electric wires and motors also upgrading the flight computer i have way more things I want to do.
You know it's a transatlantic flight when the 757 is climbing out like any other airliner instead of rocketing like it usually does.
Lol

It only took 6 hours 10 min frow Newark to Edinburgh 700 mph it said on screen
@bmitchell928
Had to be during winter with tailwinds
Iike that.
It’ll be a sad day when the last 757 retires, love the howl of the Rolls Royce RB 211 👌🏻 🇬🇧

It soon be gone 😪

Boeing 🇺🇸 Roll Royce 🇬🇧
Yes indeed... one beautiful bird.

That's for sure...it's cool watching one climb out..almost straight up...
This sound is for commercial airplanes, what the DSB ME diesel locomotives are for trains, seriously, look it up, the sound is the same type of high pitched spinning up as this.
That RB211 roar is music to my ears! Love it!
The 747 had 4 of them with British Airways.
@@Cl4rendon Also Qantas and Cathay Pacific had RB211s on their 747s😎
I grew up flying on the 757 and others, you never forget the noise of an RB211.
Oh yeah for me the sound of RB211s is so iconic it puts a smile on my face when I hear it
FlyingSpartan exactly
I grew flying on the USAirs B757s and United B757s, and AA B757 _ DC-10s . Iad-Lax but on USAir it was a DC-9 to Pit then Pit-Lax on a B757
757 pencil, you pitched me so many times across the US. It really was a rocket ship.

UA and Delta still have them in their fleet.

@757Superfan Smart ass. There not gone.

Nothing like a 57 fitted with good old RR's
Fantastic. Music to my ears. I love the 75's.
Oh wow! What a beautiful video! What gorgeous cites and aircraft! This must be some lovely pinnacle of human civilization. Thank You.
I love the good old 757-330 from Condor

CAL for life 😎
Awesome! I used to fly DFW - TUL on 757 weekly, I swear those guys flew it like they stole it.
After takeoff, seeing the very airport that you just took off from always make your flight better.
Even being heavy, that ol' girl wanted to go! Screaming "cut me loose cap'n, cut me loose!"

I know, really impressive 757 power! I love this aircraft!
This sound makes me feel save every take off
A very nice 8,500rpm Engine! 757 & and the RB-211 are the best!
Can never get enough of the RB211 roar.
One of the coolest roars behind the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84
Rolls-Royce RB211 doesnt disappoint though!
great video, clearly can see Manhattan, JFK airport and the cross island pkwy
I was a flight attendant and used to sit at the 2L door on takeoff and climb out❤❤❤
Fantastic sound. One of the best on YT. I like the noise abatement bit where he throttles back in the climb. Didn’t like the first time I experienced it though - thought the engines had failed 😮
the most perfect c sharp in all history

really well done! the lights of NYC was a bonus
I love the howl. Just as amazing as the Avro Vulcan's howl.
Very good this takeoff! I never imaginated that have flights to Paris before on the boeing 757!
what a beautiful take-off
The RB211 is my favorite 757 engine compared to the PW2000 which does sound ok but not as loud.
Beautiful view at night
I know it was really beautiful!
I know that roar and I can that do it on a piano the roar note is on C# sharp, love that engine
thank for the video
That engine growl! Great vid, the clarity is amazing!
Flying on a 757-200 in oct, can't wait!!
I am in love
i am an l-1011 guy but i have a big heart for the 757 she is a great air plane i do miss my l-1011

Amazing video
Great Rolls Royce engines
Ultimate flying experience with this plane. Flew it from Washington to Manchester. The takeoff and approach felt like I was in a fighter jet
Beautiful sound of engines!
Great video!
Thanks for posting it.
Is Polaris service on a 757-2? I had no idea.

The Porsche of the commercial skies.

That's some harsh buzzsaw!
If you liked the RGB211 Roar on the 757 you should have heard it on the L-1011 Tri-Star, the aircraft that brought about the RB-211.
I was happy to fly on a 757
nice video!

Are we weird for essentially creaming ourselves to the sound of airplanes? I think I might be weird😂
Ahh that’s hot
Any flight attendants in the postings can explain why so many inflight chimes?
A call button got stuck.
Looks like they did a big circle
They did. EWR departures always make a climbing right turn when departing East/Northeast to avoid the LGA and JFK arrivals and departures.
757’s rb211 sounds kinda like iaev2500
Jakarta Plane Spotter and it looks like one too
Exactly!
More like the other way around.
That continuous dinging around 4:20 is really annoying. Doesn't sound right.
Yeah... looks like captain couldn't decide if he wanted us to fasten or unfasten our seat belts xD
FlyingSpartan probably a glitch with some system. Pilots would never flip the switch during the first few minutes climbing.
ecoRfan that was a joke, my friend.
Yeah I figured.
That’s some 1 pressing the call bell over and over
OMG COOL
