I grew up on jazz/fusion music and for decades it was regarded as the precursor to "smooth jazz"...meanwhile those that were in the know sampled and were inspired heavily by all of that music. It's nice to see an entire generation who weren't even alive back then resurrect it.

Hmmm...it does sound bit clunky in places...something I'm not used to with these two. I would say the EQ is off, which definitely affects it as well. Overkill on the low freqs, but maybe it's just the mikes used to record...

hilarious starved audience grasping at this like it's good. She's is so far behind the beat it's like the monitor system wasn't working correctly. It's so intentionally 'lo-fi', it's contrived nonsense. It's like a supremely bad version of Knower... which you should totally checkout instead of this.

lol that’s why Louis Cole has played with them both, because it’s contrived nonsense.

"It's like a supremely bad version of Knower..." Comparing Domi and JD's sound to Knower is so funny lol. I like Knower, but what's their relation sound-wise? Jazzy chords? A drummer as part of the duo? Domi and JD aren't funk in the slightest, and they don't try to be. Just exposing yourself for having 0 ear for what you're even hearing.
