If they did an Oil change with a non ford filter then the pressure that this engine needs might not be high enough so it might be ticking. I would try to do your oil change and use the ford motor craft
First of all, thank you for the update video. If your looking for non professional opinions on your "ticking" issue... I would also suspect timing chain with your mileage. I've got a 2014 with LOW miles and I've got a coolant leak somewhere? And I get a wicked cloud of white smoke on cold start... The smoke in your short video is about 1/4 as much as I'm getting. What's the cause of that if anyone knows? I of course realize it's coolant burning off from some location in the engine? Absolutely love this EcoBoost for power but the potential problems are scary expensive to fix I guess?
At this point man I have no clue. My truck seems to invent issues, I hope it’s not the chain but I also have a bad cold start. The video didn’t do it justice. LOTS of white smoke kinda like yours. As for normal cold start smoke it’s just condensation in the pipes normal stuff. Lots of smoke and I think you’re right maybe a coolant issue or something. I think my brand NEW turbo is leaking… so there’s that lol 😂
Could be your intercooler sucking in and condensing the ambient air - it settles at lower speeds and will cause your truck to occasionally stutter. Google “drilling hole in EcoBoost intercooler” for the most common DIY fix, and BE CAREFUL!
All of my 5.4 2v had around 270,000 and ran smooth. The last one died though because i went through deep water and i think just enough water got into the motor, but with care the 5.4 2v is the way to go unless you just NEED 400 hp. For practicality, and $$$ savings, avoid the $60,000 ego machines. With proper set up I could tow roughly 5,000 pounds very easy. An EB will last with proper knowledge and experience.
Getting 9-11 mpg on the older vs the 14-19 mpg on the newer models is a pretty huge jump in my eyes. Here in Hawaii, I value my cooler seats and infotainment system.
The oil cap being left off shouldn’t have affected oil pressure but you definitely had a vacuum leak while it was off other than the shop using a lower quality oil and filter than usual, if they did, I don’t think your oil change caused the noise a slight tick on a 230k+ mileage vehicle isn’t really abnormal could be injectors or something in the valve train I might second the guy who suggested stretched timing chain as those like to make noise at a specific rpm typically lower rpm where there is more slack in the chain to make noise than at high rpm or under heavy load

I had issues with the timing chain and cam phasers. Also could be the exhaust manifold
Coincidentally it sounds like your A/c compressor. Just a thought since it is timed so well.
nice! 158k on my 2014 3.5 EB. not sure about the ticking

And yet. That engine light is on lol
