Ram or Ford!?
Currently driving a 2024 ram 1500 with the SST straight six turbo engine big horn edition and this thing is awesome 4 x 4 four-door fully loaded auto start. The list goes on the mileage is insane. I’m currently getting 25 to 26 on the highway worst case scenario I’m getting 22 to 23. This thing still got well over 400 hp over 500 foot pounds of torque for all your hauling means and it gets up and goes it zips when it needs to, anyway y’all enjoy the video

When I checked the fly wheel/flex plate (these days) sure enough chipped teeth. 1) cheap material from Ford led to premature chipping. 2) for whatever reason, my flex plate was “off kilter” just enough to further exasperate the issue. 3) new flex plate and new starter since October 2021 and no issues since

Great video and thanks for sharing your experience of this truck / engine. I have a 2018 F150 XLT 3.5 ecoboost with only 43k miles. The truck is amazing. I have had chevys, multiple RAMs before this and hands down this is the best truck of all. I have bigger size tires (34 inches) I drive a lot of city now and I get between 15 and 17 mpg. Highway I will easily hit over 20 mph. When I had stock tires I used to hit 22 - 23 mpg hwy easily. I don’t understand how some people complain of low mpg with this truck. We also have a 2021 Subaru Ascent which only gives less than 14 mpg in similar driving. This truck is nothing less than impressive and I have become a Ford fan for sure except for their jacked up prices now.

What's the cause of that if anyone knows? I of course realize it's coolant burning off from some location in the engine? Shoot brotha I’m not sure. If you want it as a reliable commuter or something then I’d say no. Two things: it’s well over 13 years old and it’s way over 250k miles… unless God himself has blessed this truck you’re looking at turbo replacements, pumps, etc at around 300k miles almost for certain. However, there’s guys on here commenting their trucks getting 200k-300k and literally zero issues. If your heart is set on it I would not pay a dime over $8k for it. I’d also get it completely looked at by a trusted mechanic or just pay a local shop to inspect it first. Good luck man!

Got a 2015 expedition with the 3.5 last year had 81k on it. At 110k now still great!
