The footage at the end is an actual video of the real Sara Beth going off to prom. It was her Make A Wish to meet Rascal Flatts. They were so inspired by her
This song touches me in such a personal way. When my brother was about 20 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Instead of waiting for his hair to fall out, he shaved his head before his surgery. I was in his room afterwards and his buddies came to see him. And every single one of them had shaved their heads. There was not a dry eye in the room. Including the Dr and nurse that happened to pop in just at that time to check on him. So this song will always be special to me!
This is unconditional love...so sad, but so beautiful...the fact that he shaved his head, so she wouldn't feel so out of place..his way of saying you are still beautiful to me and you are not alone..I love this song..it really pulls at your heartstrings..thank you for reacting to this..God bless you😊
Skin was inspired by a true story. The co-wrtiter on the song John Henry, had a good friend whose child had cancer & ended up dying. In an interview he said the about the songs intention was "to try to be a force to bring people together" He also co-wrote songs like "three wooden crosses" (randy travis), "almost home" (vince gill) & "higher ground" (john denver)
In 2012 my Dad was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer and was scheduled for chemotherapy. He was more worried about losing his hair than the disease itself. He never knew it but I had planned on shaving my head as he started to lose his hair and I was going to keep in shaved until he recovered. Though sadly he never got the chance to even go through chemo as he didn't recover from surgery. He lived about 16 weeks after being diagnosed.
See my comment, posted about 6 hours after yours. I will add, since its not in that comment, that my Mom's cancer was also, non-small cell squamous lung cancer. I'm sorry your Dad wasn't successful with treatments.🙏🏼 But I hope that if, someday, someone else important to you gets cancer, that you will be able to pass on a positive message for them, as without hope no treatment can be truly successful. Your experience, along with, perhaps stories like mine, can really make a difference in someone's life.
@@BorealisNights I lost my Mom to non-small cell lung cancer as well. She passed away just 22 months after my Dad. Hers spread to her brain and that was it. She was gone in 8 weeks from the time they found it. My Grandfather died from aggressive pancreatic cancer and died within 6 weeks of diagnosis.
I shaved my head when my mom was undergoing MAX radiation therapy, and chemo that had to be stopped early because it almost killed her. The happy news?... she responded excellently to the treatments, her cancer, which was inoperable, shrank from the size and shape of a very large mandarin orange, to a small piece of dead scar tissue the size of a medium sized grape. She is gone now, but her cancer never came back... she died of simple 'old age', 14 years after her diagnosis, which docs gave her a rough timeline of MAYBE 4 years, since it couldn't just be removed. I thank God every day for that blessing. If you know someone with cancer, or, pray not, that you ever get it yourself... know that it's not the way it was years ago... treatments are successful much more often than in the past. My Mom was already stage four (final stage) when she was diagnosed, and went on to live her life to its true, natural end. I'm a Canadian, and our national Canadian Cancer Society has, for as long as I can remember, their motto has always been..... "Cancer CAN be beaten", and we (the human race), are getting closer and closer to that becoming reality... Already, some types of cancer are almost always curable if caught in time. If your wondering who/what to make your major yearly charitable donation to... might I suggest your local, or national cancer societies, who do more than just fund research, but also build inventories of wigs to match any hair color and style, fund or even host support groups, help caregivers, etc, etc. your money won't be wasted if you donate to a real, valid, cancer society. Wishing good health to all who read this, and all who never stumble across my faint words.🙏🏼 And, the happy ending to this song/story, is that her biggest dream, dancing with her true love without any cares came true. 👍🏼✌🏼🇨🇦
Have you seen this video: Jason Michael Carroll “Alyssa Lies” (The Original Video in High Definition HD). By the way, this is a True story sung by this country singer.
I kept watching your face...knew this one would be difficult for you...thanks for a great reaction! When my sister-in-law started chemo, I shaved my head in support of her. She did NOT lose her hair!! Oh well!!
I absolutely love the Rascal Flatts, I hope you do more of them ❣ You handled this song better than I can. It's a tear jerker for sure but such a great song!!
I bawl every time I hear this song. This song was actually a hidden track on their Feels Like Today album (which is where I first heard it) and some radio stations started playing it causing it to hit the Top 40. The band then released it as a single and officially added it to the albums track list.
We just found out my 19 year old daughter has cancer. This song just absolutely wrecked me. I can't imagine losing her. I'm not sure what's ahead for us, but we're relying on the Lord to pull us through & guide all of the doctors to do what will bring her through this whole and alive. If anyone wants to send up a prayer for us, we would really appreciate it!
St. Jude Children's Cancer Center is located in Nashville and is strongly supported by the country music family. Sadly, I'm sure they see many Sarabeths.
This song hits hard. Another emotional one. Country music is like that. You're either weeping or partying. lol. Gary Levox has one of the best voices in country music, imho. It's a must to listen to Rascal Flatts - Bless The Broken Road (Live) by Rascal Flatts
i know, this one is wicked emotional. I watched as my mother went through 5 cancer operations. Her lesson to me fight the fight...always...life the next day is worth it. If you are dealing with this or a loved one, I give it to you....fight the fight....always.
This was a very special song for them and it was lovely. The song is based on a true story of a friend of the writers whose child passed away from a rare form of cancer. Thanks for covering it Craig, always enjoyable, even the tough ones. ❤ To give you a break, there is are 2 incredibly fun Rascal Flatts songs that you could check out, 1 is "Banjo" and the other is "Backwards (or Play a Country Song Backwards)" these are both awesome, very energetic, fun songs from our favorite Country Trio. Take care!
This is such a lovely song and story--but has always been SO hard to hear/watch. 😭 Sometimes I think those who say they "hate country music" may just not like how REAL country music can be.🤔 But this time is very different for me--it's the first time I've allowed myself to listen to/watch this one since I got my own cancer diagnosis in 2019. It's undoubtedly tough to deal with the emotions songs like this conjure up (and I'm fairly sure they don't end up on many daily playlists), but in their own way they are the best of the best--because music that moves us fulfills the very purpose of music. And I appreciate very deeply those courageous enough to perform the difficult ones for us so beautifully 🥹
I don't know if you got my request or not my phone keeps acting up sorry but the song is by Anna Graceman called So Complicated shes the first 12 year old to write her songs and make a music video if you want to learn more about her she has her addition to America's got Talent
Not to make you cry, but I suggest Joe Nichol’s song “If nobody Believed in You’. Or a bit lighter, Billy Currington: God is Great, Beer is Good, People are crazy. Maybe one from the past, Jerry Reed: she got the gold mine I got the shaft!
If you want a light-hearted & funny song, you should react to the song by Ray Stevens called, "Mississippi Squirrel Revival". You will definitely laugh at this song. 😂
Please do She's With me by Collin Raye and dedicate it to my gorgeous Neice Darcey, who lives with a rare genetic condition called Pitt Hopkins Syndrome
HEY CRAIG, JOE HERE, I CRY EVERY TIME I WATCH THAT VIDEO. BUT IF YOU WANT ONE THAT WILL CHEER YOU UP A BIT, ITS ONE CALLED " IT FEELS LIKE TODAY. " I KNOW YOU WILL LIKE THIS ONE ( OFFICIAL VIDEO) CHECK IT OUT... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE..... YOU THOUGHT I FORGOT, I WONT. LATER.
Beautiful song. That's true love
I can never listen to this song without crying.
It’s a tearjerker
The footage at the end is an actual video of the real Sara Beth going off to prom. It was her Make A Wish to meet Rascal Flatts. They were so inspired by her
Perfect reaction. Rascal Flatts is the best

I have heard this many times, but still can't get through it dry eyed.
Loved your reaction!
I've also heard it many times. But tears in my eyes and choked up right now.
This is a true story. They met her through Make a Wish and the video at the end was real home video. She ended up succumbing to the cancer.

He is so great. Sad song

Have seen this video of Skin years ago, but watching it, with your heartfelt reaction, made me cry all over again.
I think people are determined to see you cry. Must be time for a happy song :)
I love Rascal Flats music and I forgot about this song and damn its so sad
One of their many amazing songs.

I watched this knowing I would tear up. I lost my wife to cancer.
That song gets me every time 🥺
His voice is perfect for this song and it gets me every time.
Their song 'Why' is another one that hits hard but is a message that needs to be heard.
This song hits hard. Another emotional one. Country music is like that. You're either weeping or partying. lol. Gary Levox has one of the best voices in country music, imho. It's a must to listen to
Rascal Flatts - Bless The Broken Road (Live) by Rascal Flatts
This is a true story about a girl named Sara Beth from Kentucky. She died from cancer a few months before her high school graduation.
I want to let you know that I found your channel and I’ve become a big fan, your reactions are great, thank you
Thank you so much 😊
Listen to "Why". So emotional
i know, this one is wicked emotional. I watched as my mother went through 5 cancer operations. Her lesson to me fight the fight...always...life the next day is worth it. If you are dealing with this or a loved one, I give it to you....fight the fight....always.
Would love you to react to I'm Moving On. My Rascal Flatts favorite.
Rascal Flatts “My Wish” is the song my son and I danced to at his wedding. Such a touching song from parents to child.
Both sad and uplifting at the same time.
Why or These Days 🎶 are great songs 👌🏾
This was a very special song for them and it was lovely. The song is based on a true story of a friend of the writers whose child passed away from a rare form of cancer. This song kills me every time. My oldest daughter is Sara Elizabeth and I've always called her Sara Beth.
My daughter is Sara Elizabeth also...my mom always called her Sara Lizzy!
That one is so intense, and that kindness… wow. It always gets me.
This song gets me every dang time! 😭
Country music - 3 chords and the truth ❤
The music is so soft and relaxing..but the subject matter is a punch to the gut. Great song choice!
This is such a lovely song and story--but has always been SO hard to hear/watch. 😭 Sometimes I think those who say they "hate country music" may just not like how REAL country music can be.🤔

Praying for you. God bless you.
80s 90s early 2000s country yes..most of this new pop/hip hopped crap truck songs with no storytelling and autotune country in 2020s..nope
2 of my favorites is Here Comes Goodbye and Why
You rock buddy. Check out their songs, these days, my worst fear
Every album has one of these, that song that will break your heart. "Why", "Ellsworth", and "It's Not Supposed to Go Like" That are other good ones.
Such a great song. I love early 2000s country.
Loved your reaction. All of their songs will hit one way or another.
If I'm not mistaken, the girl on the silks in the background of their video is the real Sarabeth. Such a good song, thank you 😊
I suggest their song Why.
If this song doesn't touch you there's a problem. You should check out Alyssa lies by Jason Michael Carroll
I don't know if you got my request or not my phone keeps acting up sorry but the song is by Anna Graceman called So Complicated shes the first 12 year old to write her songs and make a music video if you want to learn more about her she has her addition to America's got Talent
This is also a true story but I don't remember the whole story but it is one of those gotcha songs
One of their fun songs is Backwards. I think you will get a kick out of it since you've listened to a lot of country.
I'd love to see you react to Fast Cars & Freedom.
OH BY THE WAY, IT WAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT PENTATONIX IS GETTING A STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME, HOW ABOUT THAT JUST LOVE THOSE KIDS....

If you want a light-hearted & funny song, you should react to the song by Ray Stevens called, "Mississippi Squirrel Revival". You will definitely laugh at this song. 😂
