MoBo is one of my favorite bands of all time. I saw them in concert multiple times, and each experience was truly magical. Since then I've never attended a show where every single person knew every single word of every song. It was unreal. I miss them so much.
It sucks I got into MoBo well after the end of there run, before the pandemic I was telling my helper about emo music which I was really getting into. I put on an emo mix on RUclips and the first song that came up was Fine, Great and I never resonated more to an opening chorus than "I hate worrying about the future 'Cause all my current problems are based around the past". I got so deep into them after that point and they helped me branch out further into the Midwest Scene without really being a midwest band per se (I'm not gatekeeping, they are to me) and once I learned they had been broken up for almost 3 years to that point I was sad and nostalgic for a band I had barely just learned about
You are so lucky. I live in Guatemala, where people don't really like emo music and also I was to young to experience the scene (born in 2006). But I am sure that now that I am a freshman in college, all this songs feel that were wrote for me even do i don't belong in that "Midwest emo culture"
i’m young, so i was not around for this era of music (i wish i was all my fav bands are from that time), so this video was really insightful on how they came to be. good stuff.
Mobo’s music to me is the perfect embodiment of teenage/young adult angst. It’s written in a way where it’s easy to relate and connect to, while also having these weird and funny references that make them who they are. They are by far one of my favorite bands and all their music is top tier emo. ❤
hit the nail on the head with the simplicity bit, mfs wanna use words like copacetic at the time and expect everyone to know what that means hahaha (no hate to knuckle puck tho i love that band)
When you Talked about bands not wanting to talk about social media I remembered the Joyce Manor lyric “I know that it sounds kinda lame when I say it out loud” in friends that we made online
interesting vid for me . Don't know much about the EMO scene but I'm always open to check out different genres . Their definitely hitting a nerve with fans and that's all that matters . Going to check out some more tracks
one of the reasons why i love modern baseball so much is bc theyre from philadelphia just like me :-) such a joy to listen to a song and having a perfect picture in my head of what they’re describing
Great video! So, I'm 33 currently and I don't know how I missed MoBo at the time but I'm sad about it. I discovered them just about 5 years ago, so, after their time in the sun
my theory is that it's mobo instead of moba because they're taking the ba part from ball and changing the vowel to prevent people from pronouncing it like "bah." if you think about it the ba in ball sounds more alike to the bo in mobo than to the ba in moba. also mobo is more fun to say.
I find it difficult to see why people loop Modern Baseball in with other pop punk and emo bands, it just feels straight up indie. I once called them “williamsburg basement core” lol, I can’t describe them
Thought you were Jake Ewald for a sec hahahahaahha
I always think this!

Thanks for watching!

100% always felt that way with Alkaline trio, Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, Real Friends etc
Thanks for watching!

Hopefully, if they reunite you can see a show. Thanks for watching!
Modern Baseball is one of my favorite bands ever, so glad to see you make a video about them!!
I miss the 2010s emo/pop punk scene. You had to be there to feel the true nostalgia
Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video man! Nice work
Glad you enjoyed it!
OMG That Martha vinyl! Please do a video on them. I don't see them brought up nearly enough but maybe it's because I'm from the USA
haha maybe, it's such an underrated album
Thought your talking about the band Sport. 😂

never thought about it like that, Thanks for watching!

Modern Boseball
9:00 more like DAWG was the last MoBo ep 😋
4 chord simple punk songs aren't bad either though
100%
Thanks for watching!
I thought you were a member of modern baseball and you just made this video
Lol thanks for watching
great video!! brendan goes by bren now and uses they/them pronouns btw :)
woah where did you see this? as someone that identifies as nonbinary that's so huge to me to see someone who's art I look up to doing the same
The only thing less appropriate than using incorrect pronouns is correcting a stranger on behalf of another stranger's pronouns.
@itmeurdad nah, it's called being a decent person. No room in the scene for people like you, go back to Morgan Wallen.
isn't bren just a nickname though?
"promo sm"
Mike are you gonna be at the Alkaline Trio show at the Aragon Ballroom on 3/16? If I might see you there I’m gonna say what’s up
won't make it
Saw the thumbnail and thought it was nate the mate ;-; this seems like a great video anyways
haha Thanks for watching!
