It seems to me that the others who play Hendrix more or less well mainly imitate him - some very well - but you seem to actually connect with him.... There's a nice balance of humility and greatness here!
Yeah but he's also stoned to the freaking bone and I'm not talking weed stoned, I mean seriously stoned. I guess it's okay, if you don't mind advertising that kind of thing but if you can't see that, you must be stoned. J.S.
absolutely perfect and hauntingly accurate rendition of a HENDRIX EXPERIENCE classic... I was there in 1967 at age 17 and saw this live from 50 feet away ...great job & thankyou !!!
boudreau110... Thank you man, I'm glad you like my video. What an amazing experience to have seen Jimi playing up close like that. Where did you see him play? I wonder if there are any bootlegs of that show out there...
One logistical problem in the comment is that Machine Gun and Hear My Train a Coming didnt hit the set until 1969 which means that there's no way it would have been in the 67 set which was Are You Experienced and other Material but point taken if you saw Jimi that's living on a large level in the music audience world... thanks for sharing but revisit to the right venue and year. By metaphor the airplane in 69 was a world of difference from 67 so was Jimi. Jimi was Next Gen Jimi by 69
@@deancarsononmusic2792 Correct Dean, Jimi just started working on Hear my train in summer ‘69. Even calling it Getting my heart back together at Woodstock.

The whole song, but especially the part right here 6:48, sounds so perfect that if you had played me this and not told me *who* was playing it I would have almost 100% said it was Hendrix himself. Those licks, and the way you played them, are right-on! I'll be happy if I practice my whole life and sound anything like this haha
Im a huge jimi fan but never really got into this song. You just changed that bro! I will be learning this soon! I love your small notes an touches that make this version so dynamic. Well done!
I have to write, I must write, you sir beside the greats was a heavy influence on me, god only knows how many times I have listened to this stellar version of hear my train a comin, more than the man version, the man himself, I remember clearly, picking the guitar for the first times, and that was the first riff I've ever played, thanks to you sir, I was plugging my guitar and not to be shameful and just play the hell out of this riff, messin around, and then coming back, you have taught me valuable lessons dear friend, I feel obligated to say thanks at least, so thank you dear friend.
Thanks man, that's an awesome comment, I really appreciate it. I'm glad my video has helped you learn, and funnily enough it was the first riff I learnt too 👍

+Kyler J Thank you, I'm glad you noticed the string bending, it's something I've spent a lot of time working on. I think a lot of the top guitarists today neglect string bending in comparison to say Jimi and others, like SRV, BB King and Albert King etc. But a lot of modern guitarists have their guitars set with a low action, and a low action makes string bending harder (in my experience)...
