The Taito arcade Superman game is above this one, especially with that sweet Zuntata rendition of the Superman theme. Otherwise, like Spiderman, old Supes was out of luck when it came to good games.

While Crue Ball sounds like razor blades tearing at your ear drums, this sounds far smoother, and a proper use of the Genesis soundchip, helps a Japanese developer using custom sound drivers were behind this one.

For me, without the classic and iconic John Williams Superman theme, it's missing something, that special magic. And, with that theme and the variations of it for different levels and moods, etc, it would take it to another level as I see [hear] it. So that's that.

I hate this game. It ruined Superman for me as a child. The music makes me physically ill, and the colors and level design make me want to fall asleep.
