I love this! I’m a social worker (2 and half years in) and handed my notice in last month and pray that I can achieve all that is on my goal list! Is nice to see that other professionals are also doing the same to get their freedom.
So much love bro !!! I am starting a 6 year medicine degree in Manchester in September and thanks to you for inspiration and advice. I am thinking of starting my own YT channel to document this journey
Ive been working as a laboratory scientist for about a year now and Im having second thoughts about entering med school for the same reasons. The job I have already restricts me from doing other things and being a doctor would definitely not be any different. I know that would always think about leaving med because it would hinder me from doing other things I love although a part of me still wants to be a doctor. Thank you for sharing your experience all the best in your future plans.
It is a difficult to balance everything, ill be honest, but many people do. Its also very common these days to work part time :) thank you so much! all the best
Congratulations bro, not sure I know of anyone whose journey shows such resilience, and such relatable struggles as well. I didn't pursue the same path but feel like I've grown with you to some extent. Let's enjoy the next chapter!!!
It’s crazy you’ve put blood, sweat and tears into this career path you wanted and then once you’ve finally achieved it you want some sort of freedom. Wish you all the best and enjoy your freedom :)
I'm in his shoes rn. The past few weeks have been challenging for me. The feelings of emptiness mixed with accomplishment and crave for something else after lots of sacrifices. It's crazy really
The majority of doctors at my stage do the same, foundation training is very challenging and many want a short break before the next 7+ years of further difficult training :) thank you!
The path of uncertainty is always one the hardest to take but you’ve got foundations set in stone Kenji not jelly and that’s really good ! (ie you’ve got the credibility of being a ‘doctor’) & with your pursuit of entrepreneurship I think your commitment really shines through and clearly your results and your self discipline. As Alex Hormozi so rightly suggests when you’re on your death bed you won’t regret having more crazy stories to tell ! and that’s what, ( from my perspective at least )this next chapter in life holds for you ! Good luck brother 🙏❤️
Been following you for the last two years while on my grind to get into med school. I've gotten a lot of inspiration and motivation from watching your videos and hearing your thoughts. Excited to keep following your journey! 💙 (also, can report that I finally got into med school myself too!)
Started watching your videos around the time I myself didn't get the A-levels for med school. Also took the biomedical science path (graduated in July) and looking to reapply for med this year. Your videos on that topic at the time were so helpful and reassuring. Thank you Doc Kenji and all the best!💙
I completely understand your perspective. I am only a second-year medical student at the moment, currently on a haematology placement during my summer holiday, which is quite exciting. I've been contemplating the same issues you raised in your video. Striking a balance between my passion for medicine and living life to the fullest is challenging, and frankly, I envision myself following a similar path for the same reasons. I think it is a great plan you've got there and one I can really relate to. It's reassuring to see another doctor who gets where I'm coming from. Wishing you all the best!
Sounds like you have a great plan to keep in touch with medicine but enjoy life as well. Good idea to get exams out the way for any speciality you wish to pursue. Enjoy your time Kenji
💙, been watching your videos since first year of my medical school training, which was 2020. I'm now currently in 5th year, shoutout from South Africa!
💙.. started watching you in 2020. The first video I stumbled on was the one that you talked about writing really good research papers. The funny thing about the whole thing was that I was practicing the same techniques you were giving because I was half way in completing my MSc. I welcomed your content because it motivated me in completing that degree. I’m looking to start a PhD soon. The aim is to start before 35 but we’ll see. Whenever I do start, I’ll definitely use your video as a reference point. Thank you, and all the best!
My daughter is starting Medicine at King's College London on the 14th of September. She scored 3110 on the UCAT and has worked as a nursing assistant at JR Hospital in a complex unit for elderly patients over the last five months. I hope that one day she will learn from you. 🎉
@DoctorKenji Thanks very much indeed! Thanks very much for all your RUclips posts. We started watching your channel from the very beginning of the admission process. You are a blessing for many lives and dreams!
Ayy thank you so much! Yeah I think it’s a great place because there are so many hospitals so base by stop options are great. You can also branch out easily to other high paid areas like Kent too

How to sign up for locum?
Do you do any medicine interview prep course
I am sorry but I didn’t understand are you going to quit being a doctor? What do you wanna do next? Like what job? Thank you❤
I didn’t say I’m quitting:)
Do you handle editing yourself, or have you hired someone? would love to discuss, if you’re interested.
I have worked with an editor the last 2 years. Not on the look atm but thank you!
@@DoctorKenji I appreciate your quick response!
All the best! Been following you for years thanks for all the help. Do you think doing fy1/2 in London helped in anyway in getting locum jobs there?
