- In a new VladTV exclusive, former high-ranking Nuestra Familia member John "Boxer" Mendoza chronicles the turbulence of his early life. Born and raised in the Mission district of San Francisco, Mendoza recounts how his mother became pregnant at 17 by his father, who left when he was just a year old. Due to his mother's struggle with heroin addiction, Mendoza and his two brothers were placed into foster care when he was just two years old. Despite his mother regaining custody when he was ten, she still struggled with heroin addiction. I went to high school in the SGV, kept messing up and my dad sent me to Pittsburg,CA (East Bay) I became the entire school’s enemy just because I was from LA. Never fought so much in my life over that up there. Having family on both sides is a trip.

This is such an informative and captivating interview. I'm happy that Boxer was able to better his life after experiencing so many years of hardship.
First time I've seen this man speak and he is one of the most insightful and very intelligent person I've heard. Having lived through that amount of war and trauma and being able to make thoughtful, intelligent decisions to further themselves is the my definition of a boss, or a winner in life .
I'm a recovering heroin addict for 10 years clean and sober now. It was and is the most horrible thing I or anyone can be put through. I'm so lucky to have made it out alive but not unscathed. In a week in have to go in for heart surgery for damage I did from shooting heroin...now that I have my life together and a family I have to still deal with shit from my addiction 10 years ago.

I have watched Boxers channel, and his stories are crazy. He puts you there if you have a teen or someone dealing with similar issues as a youth.I think that they should hear his stories and situations it would probably save and change their lives....
Probably not I grew up watching stuff like this. It didn’t discourage me from doing what I did. It just made me understand it a bit better.
