Thank you! Although I need to prepare more B-Roll footage to include even more, when doing this different kind of approach to making in-depth review videos, as there was too much "head" footage for my taste in this one.

@@MyDeepGuide Thank you for the incredible review. I always appreciate your in-depth, unbiased analysis and the commentary you give which adds context and understanding. I agree that more B-Roll footage would enhance the video. In you past reviews I have always felt like I was on a journey with you, exploring the product - as if the commentary was filmed at the same time as the images of the product. This one feels more like a news story with the anchor in the "studio" occasionally showing scenes that were obviously filmed at a different time and place. The product images in this video feel "disconnected" from the commentary. One other tiny niggle that is just my personal preference - I like the gray fabric background to the product footage of your other reviews better than the white background of this one.
Thanks again for your hard work - I am a big fan.

Voya, thanks very much for making this video. I am new to this, but Im not sure how many of these tablets would be sold without you, Kit, and Brandon being such great ambassadors for these products. This segment owes y'all a tremendous amount. The community is very thankful to y'all. For about a year I have been looking for something that I can use for Bible study. I was looking for something lit and that has the split screen ability to read and make notes. As such, the UTC checked the boxes...and it arrived yesterday. Your awesome review is spot on. As I watched it several times, i was a bit taken back by how much time you spent on the sharp edges it has. Well, now that in hand, the edges are super sharp....and very uncomfortable. It will actually digs into your hands and offers no angle for adjustment to remedy. It does negatively impact the experience for sure. The UTC is staying, but yea.....it is an odd design choice fur sure. Thanks!

Great review Voja! I returned my TUC due to 3 reasons: 1) I was constantly losing connection with the keyboard case(I may have had a bad case), 2) battery life, 3) writing experience with the camera bump. The Tab Air C sounds like something to wait for, however. The battery life probably won’t be any better, but it should have much better writing/handling ergonomics. I’ll keep using my older Boox device and wait to see what happens later this fall!

    • @mo.musicology
      @mo.musicology Год назад +1

I think the battery life is compromised not because of the colors but because of the GPU. The same as the Tab ultra without colors. A Note Air C will probably have an extended battery life. How was the Nova C doing regarding battery life? I don't know about this one.

    • @johnmanley4528

@@mo.musicology If they use the same GPU with the upcoming Note, which is what I would expect, then it’s not going to have a great battery life. Some of the early reviews of the new Tab Ultra Mini say the battery is not very good.

The best review, as always. Watched the entirety on my Tab Ultra C which is definitely not possible and pleasant on my Note Air 2. Got the whole bundle with the keyboard cover with the first pre-orders on the Euro Boox store, luckily no dead pixels that I am aware off and I just love this device. I thought the weight and bulkiness compared to the Note Air 2 would be an issue. not at all for me. But the fast scrolling, the much less ghosting, the clarity of the 300dpi and of course the color are a life changer. I was using less and less my Note Air for web browsing, missing the color and speed while reading news articles. Now I use my Tab Ultra C all the time, even for short travels it replaces my laptop. Writing documents out in the sun on its keyboard is amazing. Thanks Voya, you showed me the way for the Note Air 2 and I have become a Boox fun. By the way I also got a 50€ cash refund from Onyx for posting a quick review about it

Your review just solidified my decision despite the device's shortcomings. I just hope I won't get DPA (Dead "Pixels" on Arrival). Based on your historic dislike of Kaleido technology I was really expecting a harsher review. I'm impressed that it won you over! I'm taking the plunge in the hopes of a laptop/tablet alternative that is easier on my eyes and less immersive. It's too easy for me to get sucked into RUclips, games, etc, and I'm looking forward to a capable but lower-octane device. It looks like an electronic newspaper to me (like in Harry Potter), and I find that very appealing

Thank you for this very thorough review! I'm very excited about *useable* color e-ink. I'm really looking forward to the day I can have such a device for note-taking, PDF markup, article reading, etc. I am a bit confused looking at the difference between the color display of the full-image PDFs like the NatGeo one v.s. the 16 color pen options in the notebook app. The colors seem so much more bland on the pens than in the image display. I love using colored pens/highlighter in my notes so that's the thing that's keeping me on my old iPad currently. I'll keep an eye on this one (especially the price) and any future devices Boox puts out.

As always, I follow and appreciate your reviews. This one is no exception, beside that I bought Tab Ultra C before the release of this review. But I agree with all your remarks. Particularly about the covers for which I could add that the material in false leather is quite fragile and could be easily scratched. Since the release of Note Air One I've listened carefully to all your comments about Boox devices... so that now I'm the happy owner of three of them. The first, Note Air One, I use it primarily as a note taking devices, the second, Nova Air C as a portable device and the new one Tab Ultra C is really a great tablet complete with notepad and eReader. But for me what is the most useful it's the ecosystem that creates the sharing of information between the 3 Boox using the cloud system. I still prefer using my Note Air One to take handwriting notes, but reading papers with colour graphics is a must for me like typing text, so It's why Tab Ultra now replace either my laptop or my Samsung tablet, all in the system provide by Boox.

Many will probably not appreciate this tablet, but I love mine and use it heavily for handwritten notes. No dead pixels. I have pimped my ride with a custom leather case and Kawero Al Sport EMR stylus with a Lamy Z107 nib.
It is difficult to add to your thorough review, but here are a few observations. Camera stinks, unusable except maybe for OCR. Maybe worth noting that OneNote can be used without additional pen latency (though not smoothly integrated). However, most third party drawing apps including Excalidraw and Concepts have additional latency, which translates into mistakes and lost time to correct. Even in native apps, the lost-first-stroke bug (that you mentioned) happens after every refresh, which I do all the time so that I can see the lost stroke; this bug reduces the value of the device by 25%. With a Bluetooth keyboard if I type fast I lose about 1 character in 10, making it NOT a laptop replacement for me. I heard similar reports from those using the keyboard case, so I'm surprised you had no problems. Notes UI stinks, as you said, and Boox should hire someone to redesign it. Glare is usually not an issue, but when glare is bad the tablet is unusable. Maybe keep a stand on hand to tilt if you get glare. OCR is great in the "keyboard" area, which you can expand to full screen width. However, OCR sucks for the "AI" feature; that OCR does not understand every cursive letter.
These issues bother me, but it's still a life-changing device for me.

Thank you very much for this in depth review!
First time I saw someone actually testing it as an external monitor, and your video convinced me to buy this tablet.
I managed to mirror my Linux PC with it using VNC. Very useful to code in the direct sunlight!
I also got a 5 dead pixels (and 3 near each others), but I just can't notice it at all.
Another drawback is the lack of USB tethering (sharing internet through USB), needs to root the Boox (well, they are ways to root it, but I prefer to wait a bit longer for that).
And finally, the most annoying thing: for some comics (particularly if one page is brown), there is a huge blocking "artifact" (the rendered page is composed of several big uniform blocks). For some reasons using third-party readers (like Readera) their size decreases (but they are still there). I tried to play with app settings but no fixes... Third-party readers (like Readera) have also a far less detailed text (even if it was scanned text in an image of comics) - Boox's preinstalled reader does a really good job for that.
Again, thanks for your review, I don't regret to have bought it at all :)

Great Review as always, i have to be grateful to you for your initial video on the tab ultra c announcement and first impressions otherwise i wouldn't have it in mind when i had to replace my Nova 3, as someone who lives in Latin America i ordered from Amazon but just the tab and bought a second hand case without magnets but that actually protects the device, i have to agree a lot in the issues of Boox software development, i remember when i got it i started right away to do a homework for university and the first stroke issue was so annoying, thankfully asking for the beta update fixed it but this is not something you would expect out of a brand new device, and i still miss the anti aliasing on text on the Nova 3, although the writing feel is way better thanks to the improved latency and reduced distance to the screen, so far after a month and a half of using it mainly for note-taking and study it really improved my work flow, mostly in regards to reading lectures or technical books, color just makes the difference into not needing to resource to my pc whenever a plot appears, the battery life is not bad but obviously not as good as other eInk devices, but so far it's a keeper, i really hope for Boox to get their path straight in regards to software and UI, there is a lot of great functionality hindered by poor testing before releasing.
PD: As far as battery tests my device is on par with your test although i think I will try to do a video test but with a local file instead of streaming it to see if it actually improves or the main responsable is just the Gpu.

For me its a 4/5 overall but service is 5/5.
Overall I have to say I am impressed. To be honest first I ordered the Tab Ultra but as it wasn’t shipped yet I could get a refund and choose the Tab Ultra C when the stock was resupplied.
I watched HOURS of RUclips videos from e-book influencers and also read countless blogs and reddit threads. Upon receiving the Tab Ultra C I have to say I am impressed. There are almost no dead pixels, the weight is great not too heavy in my opinion for this kind of device, it feels premium thats for sure. The sharp edges people speak of I do not personally find as an issue at all, and don’t even feel that it is sharp at all.
The one star deduction is for the cover that comes with it when ordering from the official store. Truly it is useless, there is no magnet to keep holding it together, so they put sticky tape on it which doesnt even align to the bezel but sticks on the screen which nobody wants. The keyboard cover I purchased additionally and it is great! Sometimes I struggle a bit to get the device to connect with it but overall a smooth experience. When the device is together with the keyboard cover it is slightly heavier to hold. The pen feels nice as well, a button wouldve been nice.
Overall I am pleasantly surprised from the device itself. I am also happy with the customer service so far received from BOOX. Shipping from Hong Kong to Australia only took around 7 days which is fantastic! The only other downside is that this device has SO MUCH it can do, and as an Apple user who isnt familiar with android or boox devices there is definitely quite a learning curve.
I would love if there would be a library with tutorials, tips ans tricks, troubleshooting guided. Perhaps it already exists but if it is then perhaps mentioning it when the purchase arrived with a leaflet would be great. So far I am just trying things out, yet it isnt always very intuitive.

Objective and well done video. The most insightful comment in the entire video? Wait on the Note Air 2 Plus C. Yes! That's the device we want! And tell Boox to add floating 'Hint' popups over their icons. It would dramatically reduce the learning curve of ALL their devices. Perhaps it is a configurable option already available, but if it is... I have not found it.

It's a very steep learning curve and I picked up a lot of information on how to use it from this video , even though it was not made for that purpose. I wish Boox made a decent manual and RUclips instructional videos , as even the manual on the device seems to be copied and pasted from one of their older devices (and functionality has changed since ). I still tend to read nice graphic magazines on Ipad Air, although TUC works perfectly fine there as well (NoteAir was good only to read books imho...)

Love your content! I couldn't wait for the review. I needed something to to reduce my backlit LCD screen time, since I have a light sensitivity. I need colour for work and this does the trick, and the colour e-ink screen doesn't leave me feeling exhausted at the end of the day. I find the screen on the small side for spreadsheet work, and would prefer a 13.3" screen or larger, but can make due with the smaller screen size for most tasks. The quality of life improvement is the biggest thing for me!
I have mainly used it for personal use, but have started to use it for work. I use Microsoft Office Apps (Word and Excel, haven't used Power Point or One Note) on my Tab Ultra C with the keyboard case. There seems to be a glitch were I can't get the apps to function in a work profile. In settings it shows they are installed in the work profile, but the icons to launch from the app drawer are nowhere to be found. Restarting and reinstalling apps did not solve the issue. Sometimes after the clone only the cloned work app is visible to launch, and the regular personal launcher disappears. At least with the MS office apps I can switch between my work and personal accounts. Has anyone else had the issue cloning apps to a work profile, where it says they were cloned properly and appear in settings, but there is no way to launch the work profile cloned app or the original launcher disappears?
Overall it meets my needs for a colour eink device that is easy on the eyes and can be used for many of my office tasks at work, despite the work profile glitch.

    thanks for the in-depth review.
    let me share my experience.
I have note air, and needed some colors for my reading and note taking, so I decided to buy the tab ultra C.
because I would like to keep the screen as durable and clean as possible, I used Doodroo paperlike screen protector, and yes, it gave me the paper like feel which I do appreciate.
    But.
not sure if that extra layer made screen less responsive! Sometimes I feel like that the monitor does not respond at all to my fingers, specially on home screen, like long press, or moving icons.
also I suffered from freezes on the OS, so I was forced to hard reboot the tablet.
Keyboard also freezes sometimes ... I am in contact with boox service disk trying to solve this issue.
After I used the HP nib on boox pen, the writing experience became rally pleasant. however I still like the eraser of Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo. I hooped that the HP nibs could fit on this excellent pen, but unfortunately not!
I do felt off because of the battery comparing to Note air.
I do like boox product because of the different apps I can use (I am learning new language so I do need different translation apps), split screen which I use a lot and reading note beside the normal notes which i find really handy.
overall, I am suffering mainly form bugs and battery, other than that it is a nice device which offers a lot of functions which I guess no other device offering the same.
hope to see another series that explains the different functions of the tablet, refresh modes, etc.

Battery is okay. I am using it for writing for about 1 hour daily and reading from 1 to 2 hours. Battery last easly 2 weeks min.
Main issue is touch responsiveness. Might be because of the protective film, not sure.
If you can deal with such bugs and have patience to work around. Then yes, i do recommend it.

I'm a bit turned off from the Ultra C because it has a lot of features I don't care for. The camera is plain useless and it looks a bit cumbersome, but admittedly I haven't used my Note Air without taking it out of the case. I'd prefer a direct upgrade without all the bells and whistles. Just colour and faster. Hoping for the Boox Tab Air C as well.

My only grumble with the device is that you can't take pictures directly into notes. It's a decent enough camera to make that a viable option. It's a lot better taking notes on that outside and taking pictures than my OLED tablet.
I wish they had dedicated camera support.
    I love the device.
I found a fairly short path for getting pictures in the notes.
Normally it takes about nine steps.
The camera's not accessible to third party apps (and sorry not sorry but on Bigme devices with cameras that camera is totally available to third party apps).

I recently got a magic keyboard like case for my IPad (was using the Brydge version previous) and the usability as a PC like device is amazing. Maybe Boox or others could do similar design for the Tab Ultra series. I am still not sure if this could replace my IPad as a tablet PC device (Putting aside the eink factor). Great video! So thorough and ... well, deep. : ) I am seriously considering this tablet and saw some overlays for sale on Amazon that offer "paper-like" feel and anti-reflectivity functionality, and I was wondering if you had any experience with any of those or if they are worth it for what will probably be a negative impact on the clarity of the Boox screen. Any recommendations? I'm not really concerned with paper-like feel, but the reflectivity might pose an issue for me if I use it mostly indoors. Thanks for a great video. This was my first time to your channel, but not the last. Cheers, from California!

Thank you! Yes, I have tried and still am trying to find one, but after trying 7 different "anti-reflection" ones, each was actually worse than the native surface. The problem is that those protectors are less reflective than the glass surface of a regular tablet, but more reflective than the AG surface of the e-ink tablets. So yeah... No real contender found yet.

Very nice review! Thank you Voja. Really appreciate your work.
I am thinking about buying Tap Ultra C as a tablet/PC instead notebook/laptop in some future if I ever need. Reason is my sensitive eyes for LCD monitors so this device is absolute gold for me. I know it don't fully replace PC. But as a student, I see great potential to match together my reMarkabke note-taking and Tap Ultra C tablet/PC-making and create powerful combination to help my needs and studies. So I kindly ask you if that is good idea by your professional view.
I am also curious if you can install Microsoft Ofice apps (Word, Powerpoint...) to the device and how do they work or Android 11 isn't support them? Also do you think and feel that reMarkable Marker Plus is better than pen that came with the Tap Ultra C?
Last question, I am not certain of value for the future of the device. Reasons: the updates are making it in some way worse yet or I am getting that feel from your videos; the working of the company isn't much pleasant for me because I don't know if the problems would be adressed or even they create new ones and whether they release the new superior device to TUC in a half/one year? I am really really don't like this marketing strategy and the world be a better place if companies would be inspired by reMarkable in rolling up hardwares.
I don't need TUC in months so I have a time to watch the situation but I would be delighted by your answers.
Sorry for a little bit longer text and maybe for my English.
Have a great days, luck and love in your life.

You have no idea how desperately I've waited for this review 😂
While I was waiting I decided to buy it on Amazon anyway, as i wanted a color boox device.
Honestly I'm a bit disappointed about this new device. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I did expect the colors to be more realistic and, especially when I write, I'd say they are not! For example dark blue is more similar to grey to me, is it only me having this impression?
For the writing experience itself it was interesting looking at your result as I would have said this is more paper like compared to my previous note air 1, but maybe it is only because I was using the note air without a screen protector.
At one point in the review you mentioned that you've not found up to now a good paper like screen protector for tab ultra c, which one have you tried? I was thinking of buying the doodroo you reviewed for the tab ultra, so I'd like to understand whether it is worth buying it or not.
Surely it's a minor dislike, but I would have preferred to be able to choose a screensaver similar to the one I had in my note air one, maybe colored, but still hand drawing, that one was really amazing!
And this leads to my last comment.
Generally speaking, I'm not having the feelings that I had when I bought the note air one. At that time I was amazed everytime I was using it, now it's "just cool"..
Thank you for your reviews!! When I received the notification on my phone I was happy as I child that receives a gift!😂

Thank you for watching and for the support! :) Nah, Doodroo is not for me, as I mentioned in the review. Feels great, solves the edges issue, but eats away at nibs like mad, and (the dealbreaker for me) worsens reflectivity.
Apropos the emotional side of things and the Note Air, exactly! When I got it and years after, I still was excited by the look, feel and design of it. This, it's just a tablet, a generic tablet.

Well, dark blue is called "navy" in Notes, and true to its name it's difficult to distinguish from black/gray unless you see them side-by-side. But yes, I'm disappointed in the colors. Red looks almost brown. You can adjust the color controls, but of course no setting is great. I like to use mostly dark purple, dark green, and black for my notes in general, and I can at least do that here.
I bought a screen protector that I am pretty sure would be good (Kent Paper by Bellemonde), but I like the feel without, so I did not apply it. I don't use the standard stylus, though, and I'm looking for a fountain pen experience, so I want smooth yet not slippery.

Either I have no dead pixels or I just haven't noticed them, and I'm sure not going to look either.
There are some software bugs. When using a couple of apps (Google News, RUclips, Kindle Reader) I have had the device crash. The screen goes completely black and then reboots. Once it crashed with the screen going completely white and then rebooting. I have reported these issues and was told it will be addressed in update 3.4.
Sometimes the eraser on the stylus just doesn't work and I have to switch to the eraser tool, which is annoying, but I deal with it.
I generally like the cover, but the lack of securing magnets is an oversight. The sticky tabs are just stupid, and I keep them covered. The lack of a flap on the cover to secure the stylus means that it gets knocked off or rolled off easily, even though the stylus magnets are very strong. I also wish the cover folded completely back on itself, but there remains a slight gap on the left side causing a bit of sponginess that I notice when taking notes if I think about it, though it is easy to ignore.
The stylus cap is a nice feature but inconvenient in that it has nowhere to go while in use. It will eventually be lost.
The camera the camera the camera ... sigh. Could Boox really not have made it flush? No one is happy with the camera bump. For me it could have been left out altogether. But why not a front-facing camera for use with video conferencing or phone calls?
In spite of the issues, I am very pleased with the Tab Ultra C. I can use it for media consumption, note taking and reading. It can function as a usable laptop when on the go. I played around with the color settings and refresh speed until I found a combination I liked, and I have had no need to change those since. The colors are good enough to be very useful; I consider it to be newspaper color quality which is fine. I am often amazed at how little ghosting there is, and I can go for a long time without need for a manual refresh. I can sit outside and read color documents and watch short videos without disappointment. I use it for notetaking daily, and although I would sometimes like a 13.3-inch screen for that, it still is sufficiently large enough. So for me, the Tab Ultra C is a winner and is good enough for the next 5 years.

For the wobbliness, you can use silicone or rubber furniture anti skid pads/feet, as long as you find one that is 2.5mm, it'll work fine.
As for the keyboard, that's a very subjective thing, as it has nothing to do with the device, and everything to do with your own typing ha it's and preferences, so as long as you find a Bluetooth keyboard that you like to type on, it'll work just fine with any Bluetooth device, Tab Ultra C included :)

    @AnimeUniverseDE Год назад +7

Very long and in-depth review, thank you! I want to add some downsides/problems I noticed in my personal experience with the device and why I sent it back:
    - The biggest issue are software problems and bugs, the Tab Ultra C is erasing so much detail from colored images it's insane. For example, any human face gets turned into one solid color instead of having proper shading. Someone deduced that the device applies oversaturation of about 50% leading to these kind of issues (clipping the colors). And this is not a hardware problem with Kaleido as Bigme devices and even the Nova Air C don't have this problem.
    - Someone that reported the problem above to the Onyx Boox subreddit got banned and all of their posts removed, which is completely shady behavior and suggests Onyx Boox wants to hide this problem
    - I couldn't get the device to fully refresh with third-party apps (Google Play...), there was always some amount of ghosting present. Totally unacceptable for the price and unusable for my use case (reading manga). The TUC has lots of options and I found two configurations that provided the least amount of ghosting for apps, but it's not perfect:
    1. Full-Refresh 1, HD/Regal mode, Animation filter time 500, App Optimization: 'automatic full-refresh' on -> works for b/w content ok-ish, has lots of ghosting with color
    2. Full-Refresh 0, Regal mode, Animation filter time 500, App Optimization: 'automatic full-refresh' on -> better for color, worse for b/w
In theory, Full-Refresh 0 shouldn't work, but it does improve things.
    - Sometimes you get inverse ghosting where there's a slight bit of ghosting present, the device recognizes this and removes that and overshoots, making the ghosting present yet again, really annoying
    - The screen is incredibly grainy to me, especially in sunlight
    - The device gets super hot during use in sunlight to the point of being unusable
    - Had dead pixels, almost looking like glitter on my screen as well
    - There's still no global dithering setting update, despite being promised
    - Touchscreen is sometimes unresponsive
    - There's still no firmware update that fixes any of the issues above, after over a month!

One of my questions regarding E-ink-tablets is how complete the functionality is for example regarding browsing websites and using hyperlinks. On e-Ink devices without color like ereaders and monitors I noticed the disadvantage that rather often hyperlinks and occasionally other functional elements on a website were not displayed on the eink device. Sometimes this can be remedied by changing contrast and the like but it is cumbersome to switch the settings all the time and sometimes you won't even know that there is a link unless you change the setting.
I wonder if this problem is present in the Ultra Tab and Ultra Tab Color.

The refresh in TUC is weird because if I set up for refresh in depth in each page in Neoreader, I have ghosting, but if I set up to no refresh then is like the gpu star to do his work and almost no ghosting at all. The same is for the other applications...so for now, I have the refresh set to 0 in all my apps, and if I need refresh, I do manually.
Another thing I don't like is Neoreader for the crop in pdf is not good at all, and other readers are way better croping like CDisplayex or Readera.

The tech gadget part of my brain keeps trying to look at Boox, because possibly I can use another note taking system (like Oneote or something) natively, but at the end of the day my keep it simple enough part keeps saying I should go for the Supernote A6x (yes the smaller one that's about the same size of my paper notebook).
I know you advocated Supernote in that debate a few months ago, would you still consider it an option for this kind of workflow?

Absolutely. For such use case scenarios Supernote and Remarkable would equally fit the requirements (apart from the size).

Wanted to ask if there is burn in on it? From the video there seems to be after images in the background when you were showing of the screen.

I would advise you to read more on the e-ink technology, as it differs completely from traditional OLED and LCD displays. But to answer your question, no E-ink screens can't and don't burn in, as there is nothing to be burnt. What you see is a normal side-effect of the e-ink technology and it is called "ghosting".

It needs an illuminated physical keyboard cover for various European languages (AZERTY, QWERTZ, etc).

You simply need to download and install the corresponding apps from the Google Play store, like you normally would.

@@MyDeepGuide I came very close to getting a Tab Ultra or Ultra C, agonizing between them or another kindle (my Oasis was struggling), until I saw this. I kinda like the camera’s practicality, but if a screen with less glare and more matte/papery look and feel is around the corner I think that’s the one for me - though it seems that line doesn’t come with an SD card slot. So I’ve settled on a Paperwhite for now.
Anyway, thank you for all the effort you put into these. I know from experience how difficult a project can be to sustain over time.

Does the Note Air 2 plus have the exact same functionality as Tab Ultra C except slower and without the color display?

It doesn't have the ability to use Widgets on the Home Screen. Other than that, it's pretty much identical, with an odd thing slightly different, here and there.

Hi I have silly question. Does it give you an eyestrain like ipad coz it have colors already?

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  Год назад

No, it doesn't because it doesn't have a back light and the color s are achieved through a passive filter on the screen :)

I watched the whole thing and before you got to the dead pixels, I was totally sold on it. Now? No. Such a huge risk to take for $600 and not be able to reasonably return a defective product for a working one. I was so meticulous in researching this tablet and the Kobo Elpisa 2. Very disappointed that the quality control is such a risk. I wonder how prominent the dead pixeling is? I will have to research it further. Really looking like I will get the Kobo though
