Spiral architect always a fav …Of all the things I value most of all I look inside myself And see my world And know that it is good 🎶🎶 Air Dance, instrumentals Laguna Sunrise and Fluff, another good one The Wizard
John's version: A heartfelt and earnest plea for a world which even he knows can never come to fruition Steve (Sabbath's) version: A cynical and sarcastic mockery of the idea of an ideal peaceful world from the perspective of someone at the lowest point in their life
I know Ozzy has said that he’s a massive Beatles fan so part of me can honestly see them doing this, this was awesome and I’d love to see more Ozzy/Sabbath styles in the future
I also know that Ozzy covered a Beatles song (“In My Life”) and two Lennon solo songs (“Working Class Hero” and “Woman”) on his 2005 covers album Under Cover (which are all really damn good renditions) so this is still really fitting and I love it
I agree. Ozzy's voice is so unique. It's easy for, say an AI Ozzy voice cover, to get his accent down and the way he enunciates words but the depth of his voice is hard to duplicate. Steve was very close though.
Awesome job , ozzy was never a great singer from a technically point of view but his voice is one of the most difficult to imitate and not so many can do it ! Nailed it !
Imagine if Black Sabbath was still with Ozzy Osbourne back in 1980 and played a Live version of this masterpiece in John Lennon's funeral 😢 Just Imagine Great cover as always Steve Welsh 🎉❤ greetings from Spain 😊🙌🏻🇪🇸🥳
I love how, lyrically, Imagine is the complete opposite of anything Geezer Butler would have ever written, himself being a uniquely (for the time) weed-smoking, strongly anti-war, anti-Satan CHRISTIAN in a “Satanic” band’s disguise), but when re-contextualized like this, it sounds exactly like something he would. It suddenly becomes an ironic, mocking statement about the dangers of a Godless world thinking it can solve war, etc. by living solely in the temporary and material, not hurting others, but still pursuing their own selfish pleasures here, ignorant of any bigger picture spiritual powers at play. It would feel right at home on Master of Reality. I’m not saying this is or isn’t MY outlook, for the record, but I think that it 100% is the meaning that Imagine would take on if penned by Butler. These song author switches are great!
If the Beatles had played all of their songs like this they might have really gotten somewhere with their music. I wish Sabbath wrote all the Beatles songs. This is my new favorite Beatles track.
ik this is a rlly random mix by two completly diffrent artists but im so curious as what it would sound like if the doors covered cola by lana del rey, the lyrics to the song sound like something that jim morrison would do well. :)
Interesting what if! If Ozzy wrote it during his solo career, it would be less heavy than this and more inline with something like Mama I’m Coming Home
Sounds like if Mitt Romney Dio was singing in an Ozzie era Black Sabbath tribute band where the lead guitarist was Zakk Wylde, But Zakk was pulling some Garth Brooke’s/Chris gains alter ego bullShitg named “BaalZeck Hare Grow Wilde” and they were covering a song that they thought was written by John Lennon, but it was actually some angst. The teenager named Harry Potter scribbled some bullshit inside his late 1990s era trapper keeper notebook.
Looking forward the obligatory McCartney & Wings version of "Only A Fool Would Say That," whenever you have time and inclination 🙏 would settle for a Jethro Tull version, like most reasonable people.
My favorite Black Sabbath song was featured on the soundtrack of any given Sunday called Sunday bloody Sunday. I think the Harry Potter kid his uncle maybe sang this song with Ozzy or something because he got the same glasses that the potter kid and John Lemmon, the comedian. Not john Candy the comedian, the candy comedian was known to be like nice and sweet while the John lemon guy was relatively bitter, sarcastic and very dry. His son name was John Myers, and they both dried up with very little fruit to them, but they both stink a lot just like the lemon tree. All these pricks grew from.
finally, the commie anthem, played in a more honest impending doomy tone. (I'm apolitical, but hey, that was what John intended it to be, albeit in a more hopeful way, chill.)
What’s your fav sabbath song?
Mines Spiral Architect from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Absolute magic.
Spiral architect always a fav …Of all the things I value most of all
I look inside myself
And see my world
And know that it is good 🎶🎶
Air Dance, instrumentals Laguna Sunrise and Fluff, another good one The Wizard
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath itself is a total banger!
Black Sabbath. There's something about it I just can't describe. If we're talking Dio, Heaven and Hell
Greatest intro riff ever@@lobo_loops
I'd go either heaven and hell, into the void or the song Sabbath bloody sabbath
If John Lennon wrote War Pigs
🤯🤯🤯
@@stevewelsh__ Could sound like Mother
If Slayer wrote yestarday
😂

John's version: A heartfelt and earnest plea for a world which even he knows can never come to fruition
Steve (Sabbath's) version: A cynical and sarcastic mockery of the idea of an ideal peaceful world from the perspective of someone at the lowest point in their life
One of the most keen comments I have read in a while, cheers.
It's about communism dude
I know Ozzy has said that he’s a massive Beatles fan so part of me can honestly see them doing this, this was awesome and I’d love to see more Ozzy/Sabbath styles in the future
dreamer is kind of imagine
Yeah, Sabbath pretty much started as a Beatles cover band before they became Sabbath.
I also know that Ozzy covered a Beatles song (“In My Life”) and two Lennon solo songs (“Working Class Hero” and “Woman”) on his 2005 covers album Under Cover (which are all really damn good renditions) so this is still really fitting and I love it
Ozzy is crazy hard to emulate. Good job you almost got it. As close as I ever heard
Haha thank you!
I agree. Ozzy's voice is so unique. It's easy for, say an AI Ozzy voice cover, to get his accent down and the way he enunciates words but the depth of his voice is hard to duplicate. Steve was very close though.
Oh, I forgot to add the musical incarnation of a Sabbath cover of Imagine was outstanding. I was hooked from the intro.
Sounds like a hybrid of Sabbath and Ozzy's later solo stuff. Great work again!
That's what I was thinking. A lot of solo ozzy in this one to me.
loved the re-instrumentation!
Cheers legend! Felt like that piano lead would translate to a nice beefy geezer baseline!
I remember when I first listen to the A Perfect Circle version of this song, and this give me the same sensation, what a great version my man
I was just thinking the same thing! I get the same vibe. Wicked awesome.
Damn! Never heard that before, super dark!
Finally a cover that fits how I feel when I hear this song
Awesome job , ozzy was never a great singer from a technically point of view but his voice is one of the most difficult to imitate and not so many can do it ! Nailed it !
What incredible creativity. What a talent! Keep posting videos, you are one of the best in the world!
Thanks Alex! ⚡️🤘🏻
This song was definitely made for Doom Metal 🤘🤘
This is lunacy and I loved every second of it! You are a mad genius!
Honestly, I think Ozzy doing a more straight cover of "Imagine," in the style of "The Road to Nowhere" would sound great.
This is the first time I've ever not hated that song.
Same
Gotta love it when steve uploads, love your vids man!
🤘🏻😎 cheers legend!
@@stevewelsh__ 🤘🤘
What a mash up! Had no idea what to expect, but that was awesome!
Oh duuude this dooms! 🤘
Haha thx Otu! Totally!
The freaking bell tolling!
Now, what if John Lennon made Dreamer???
This has to be done!
I'm not sure if a cover has ever used a tri-tone on that one Steve, fantastic as always, love it
Massive improvement.
Absolutely awesome! 🤘
Wow!!!!
I wasn't ready for that one!!!
LOVE IT❤
Excelent job! From Argentina
the most psy chords and singing tonalities 🤟🏻😵💫 Good Job! 😃
fantastic!
Imagine if Black Sabbath was still with Ozzy Osbourne back in 1980 and played a Live version of this masterpiece in John Lennon's funeral 😢 Just Imagine
Great cover as always Steve Welsh 🎉❤ greetings from Spain 😊🙌🏻🇪🇸🥳
So good! Much respect!
Liked it before it started playing! 👌👌🖤😅
That's it, I'm addicted to your videos
Sounds like a lich giving his big speech to the hero party before enacting a dark ritual that will put the minds of all of humanity under his control.
This was amazing
Goodness! I think we may have a winner! 😮😬👍
Solid! Great video man!

Fits like a glove!
Awesome work, Steve!
Im not sure if Ozzy ever hit some of those notes that you were, but a banger of a cover again. You dont miss bro
I take back what I said about the short. This is spot on.
If the Beatles had played all of their songs like this they might have really gotten somewhere with their music.
I wish Sabbath wrote all the Beatles songs. This is my new favorite Beatles track.
That was John Sabbath and it rocked
Just amazing 🤩 thanks
This fucking slaps hard. Ironically Ozzy idolised John Lennon
Great! 😀
To be honest, Ozzy's Dreamer is Lennon's Imagine.
Friggin' 'ell man! That's fun.
it sounds like the 'black sabbath' riff in a different key for the verses and the chorus is inspired by the riff of war pigs. :D
Sick! 🤘🤘
It goes from originally being uplifting to apocalyptic.
This beatlesabbathesque mash-up sound a bit like Type O Negative to my ears ! :)
Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks, mate.
this guy is a force of nature!!
ik this is a rlly random mix by two completly diffrent artists but im so curious as what it would sound like if the doors covered cola by lana del rey, the lyrics to the song sound like something that jim morrison would do well. :)
It sounds like a bonus track from 13
Faz a música, Riders on the Storm - The Doors, na versão ao estilo Type O Negative !
Interesting what if! If Ozzy wrote it during his solo career, it would be less heavy than this and more inline with something like Mama I’m Coming Home
Not so much Sabbath as it is the Down to Earth album. With that said. I love it and i hold a special place in my heart for that album.
The chorus is a banger

Sends the opposite message as the original song lol
I would think if Black Sabbath wrote Imagine, it will sound like Changes.
Looking forward the obligatory McCartney & Wings version of "Only A Fool Would Say That," whenever you have time and inclination 🙏 would settle for a Jethro Tull version, like most reasonable people.
I always thought ‘Dreamer’ by Ozzy was his ‘Imagine’
Only one critique. There should have been a randomly placed"alright now". 😂
Or YEEEAAAHH
@@davedecker1725 Definitely!!!
This version is far superior!!
To much better
Iron man got me into black sabbath as a baby
Rush - Ticket To ride
To be honest, this is perfect! Imagine's lyrics are nihilistic and horrific!
Man this does go hard 👍 but another video only gives me another opportunity to pled for weezers Getchoo in the style of Nirvana

There's already a "if ozzy wrote imagine" song: "Dreamer".
Riff sounds exactly like the power metal band, Helloween, song "Halloween"
Fixed it!
The laugh in the song is soooo Ozzy!!
Ozzy needs to see this
I always thought "Imagine" would go good sung to the music of "Who Are You?"
\m/ 🔥
PLEASE DO LIMP BIZKIT PARADISE CITY!!!
if beatles wrote paranoid
The intro sounds like 'burn in hell'.
If nirvana wrote I WANNA be Your dog.
dreamer is kind of imagine
Black Lennon - Imagine Pigs
lets check this out!!!!’ 😮
Tony is actually left handed...
Ozzy Osbourne from the Randy Rhoades era cover of the Power Rangers theme song?
How about. if Slayer wrote, “Black Sabbath,” by Black Sabbath?
Fun fact: imagine is basically the communist manifesto but sugarcoated.
Almost as good as Gal Gadot's version
Funny how End Of The Beginning is a little rip off of Imagine 😂
Sounds like Dirty Women during "imagine all the people."
Interesting pick up! That riff was inspired by ‘you won’t change me’ but same album so that makes sense 🏄♂️
@@stevewelsh__ Of course! I got the right album (Technical Ecstasy) but the wrong song. 😂 Love your work, dude! Keep em coming! 🤟
God is dead, and now there is no heaven.
Imagine that
If they did, I'd like them a whole lot less.
I like the sentiment behind this, it's a cool idea.. but the production is too modern sounding to be Black Sabbath.
ни о чём
finally, the commie anthem, played in a more honest impending doomy tone. (I'm apolitical, but hey, that was what John intended it to be, albeit in a more hopeful way, chill.)
Black sabbath could write imagine but john lennon could never write war pigs or hand of doom
love it, but the commie lyrics still suck
