    This was super helpful! I’m a seasoned commander player but haven’t had much experience piloting group hug style decks. Your advice to manage just one resource to share with your opponents I think is really going to help with my plan for upgrades. Keep up the great work!

      Many thanks! It's such an interesting archetype to pilot but so tricky to do well, which I think is a plus - it's a very unique experience and quite fulfilling! Happy to have helped.

    I would personally not advise anybody to remove the scry lands from the deck. Being able to scry, especially in the early game, can be used to help make sure you draw into something helpful. Even more so in EDH considering it is a singleton format. Scry and Surveil are both very powerful abilities in both Singleton and constructed formats.
    I'd also take Curse of Verbosity out and run Kros, Defense contractor. Mrs. Bumbleflower and Forgotten Ancient both allow you to distribute counters onto opponents creatures extremely easily. Being able to both tap and permanently goad creatures opponents control protects your life total and planeswalkers, but it also actively harms your opponents board states and life totals.
    Unless your opponent creates a ton of tokens, Forgotten Ancient will keep up, if not exceed the number of counters you need to put one on each creature opponents control. Kros both tapping them and forcing them to attack on your opponents turn gives you time to buff your own Bumbleflower and swing for lethal commander damage if they still have enough life by that point to do so.
    Peace offering, in my opinion, is far and away the best Preconstructed deck out of the Bloomburrow decks, and is arguably better than All of the Modern Horizons 3 decks. Either it or Explorers of the Deep from Ikoria are in the running for best Preconstructed Deck of the year.
    Some single card suggestions for Peace Offering:
    KARN'S BASTION

    • @mtgspecs
      @mtgspecs  7 дней назад

      Kros is a fantastic suggestion. I'm interested - when you say Peace Offering is better than all of the MH3 decks, do you mean in terms of mechanical originality or 'power', or something else? I'd agree in terms of originality and 'sparks joy' - such an exciting direction for precons to embrace a range of archetypes. However, in terms of power, which is a separate thing, Creative Energy, is incredibly strong and in my opinion of playing and owning both, beats the Bunny down! Love to hear your thoughts.

      @@mtgspecs Peace Offering creates so much passive value through its commander and cards like Forgotten ancient and the Hydra that gets +1/+1 whenever opponents cast a spell. It ramps multiple creatures on your board very quickly and makes it hard for targeted removal to slow your board State, has counterspells out of the box, and damage protection instants that allow it to accrue value while protecting your own stuff.
      It also really only has only like four dead cards in the deck that I would consider just useless out of the box.
      Creative energy has a bunch of solid cards in it. Aurora Shifter is arguably the MVP of returned value on energy spent. I have an energy deck that uses a ton of cards from it, but it doesn't accrue enough energy out of the box for it to be viable and has a ton of cards that are either too expensive to further the game plan, or just don't at all.
      Goldspan Dragon? Amazing card. No idea why it's in the precon. Burnished Heart? It's an expensive option for two lands. It's an artifact, but the deck as is doesn't really care too much about artifacts in its stock iteration.
      Filigree Racer? Aether storm Roc? Both provide energy, but I have never seen a soul crew Filigree. Aetherstorm Roc is too expensive for a 3/3, even with a passive generation effect when there are better options such as Guide of Souls which does the same thing, but for one Mana & it provides life on top of it.
      Grenzo & Myr Battlesphere, same thing. They don't really advance the deck's theme of energy. If you actually want to play the deck as an energy deck, there are so many cards that need to be replaced because as it is, you're never going to make enough energy to activate Aethersquall if you need it, or to unearth Salvation Colossus from your graveyard.
      There are good energy cards that the deck just can't take advantage of as is. It doesn't generate enough energy when you actually want to take advantage of those effects, and a lot of the cards that generate energy when played, use energy for an advantage in board state, or passively generate energy like Madison Li, Scurry of Gremlins, Automated Assembly Line, Helios ONE, Amped Raptor, Roil Cartographer, Jolted Awake, Aether Revolt, or Tune the Narrative, are either in the Fallout Science! Precon, or Modern Horizons 3 Proper.
      If you have any suggestions on how to pilot the deck as-is out of the box. I'm all ears. In my experience though it's just unable to generate value as it has next to no card draw, ability to buff your creatures, or interaction to either hinder an opponent or protect yourself. It's a very hard deck to come back from if you play your hand due to it almost exclusively relying on drawing one card per turn during your beginning step.

    Update
    My final upgrade package improved defense capabilities, like adding flare of denial. I still kept out the board wipes, because I don't really think group hug decks belong having them. You generally want people to not attack you. Boardwiping does exact opposite
    I also added archetype of endurance for absolute hexproofing. The problem with the boots and any artifact that generally gives you such an ability is that they are always weak against targeted removal. The archetype of endurance solves that it problem. The only downside is the mana cost.
    I swapped out the covered in jewel with the gilded lotus. Basically for the same reason I removed the board wipes. The last thing I want is attention drawn to me by such a means. It's basically like the monarchy being on the field. I don't want that stuff near me with a 10-ft pole.

    • @mtgspecs
      @mtgspecs  24 дня назад

      I feel that the deck gives you ample time to get Archetype onto the board, control is the great equaliser. I'm a fan of one card effecting more than one thing.
      Thanks for the updates. The deck is on the part of my shelf where I put decks that need attention so. It's helping me out.

    • @unanon_user
      @unanon_user 24 дня назад

      @@mtgspecs I hate artifacts and enchantments that give hex proof. Because, ordinarily you really can't do anything about them being removed. That's it. But the archetype of endurance affects every single creature. Throwing something like shalai who gives you and planeswalkers hexproof and you have something really awesome.
      Additionally, I added a chromatic lantern and ashaya, soul of the wild. Turning every creature I have into Amana rock. I am a huge fan of this strategy. Also got mana reflection in there. I am going to be producing asinine levels of mana. Believe me, if I had the room? I would have added everflowing chalice. 🤣

    • @unanon_user
      @unanon_user 24 дня назад

      @@mtgspecs but honestly? If you are going to use artifacts I give you hex proof? Just use the mirror shield instead, it is far superior to the swift foot boots. It gives you protection against death touch.
      The problem with giving everything hexproof is that a board wipe will take care of it. But the way I figured, if your stuff isn't too threatening? You probably will be fine.

    Great card suggestions; I hadn’t thought of Galadriel! I’ll be picking up 17 singles from the deck and mainly building it from scratch with cheap instant removal, creatures that tap to put lands into play as “ramp” to not overfill a hand, flash creatures like Alms Collector, Tidal Barracuda and Heliod The Radiant Dawn’s other side. I will only have Ms Bumbleflower as a source of giving people card draw, since I don’t want to reward archenemies with unconditional card draw. Damning Verdict and Wave goodbye feel like great board control cards to that fit with the deck caring about counters.

    The thing to keep in mind about peace offering is that it wasn't designed with the usual strategies of group hug in mind. You are basically group hugging to further your own goals, not just help everyone else.
    The toxic squirrel adds a fourth win condition, if you add innkeepers talent.
    Add in doubling season or perhaps something like branching evolution and hardened scales? Primal vigor would also go great in this deck.
    I replaced the coveted jewel. In my opinion, it puts you in as much risk as the monarchy. So, you pretty much just want to avoid utilizing that as much as possible. Especially if you were going to utilize group hug. I also took out the board wipes. Because, the last thing you want is to be considered the threat as a group hug player. Even one with the intention furthering their own goals

    • @mtgspecs
      @mtgspecs  Месяц назад

      Yeah, I'd never go into a game where I would be exclusively want to help others, gotta have some winning strategy. Even my weaker builds (I have one built around skeleton and skull art) have a plan. Same with group hug. It's the deal making for me - I'll scratch your back sorta stuff.
      Bang on about the doubling stuff.
      A card that's getting a lot of attention because of this is 'On the trail' from Deep Clue Sea and ramps you as you draw a second card.
      Thanks for your thoughts, I'm piloting this with my upgrades tomorrow at my LGS.

    • @mtgspecs
      @mtgspecs  Месяц назад

      Hey, welcome to the game! Short answer - yes, more is more is fun and both of those cards can lead to a story of how you won with a 40 power creature! Longer answer - maybe. Out of the box, the counter theme is fairly unsupported and 'eggs in one basket' so taking a turn to cast either of those spells is putting you behind in an archetype that already puts you behind. With my upgrade suggestions, I can see a place for them and would take out the two advocate cards I suggested to fit them in. Doubling Season is super expensive - Primal Vigor (the Enchanting Tales version) is way cheaper and has fringe benefits in this deck - it effects everyone so you'd give someone two octopi with the Octomancer, an extra treasure with the Bloodroot Apothecary that they shouldn't crack etc. You made a good choice with this deck - steep learning curve but will grow with you over time. Enjoy!

    • @unanon_user
      @unanon_user Месяц назад

      As someone who has used those kind of cards before and added them into this deck? If you are going to only deal with counters that make your creature stompy, go with primal vigor instead of doubling season. Then, slot in innkeepers talent. Doubling season is usually very expensive.
