I've always gotten good results from the MSHA labeled black tape, it might actually be a 3M product if im not mistaken.

3M super 33 is great tape! Use it all the time when wrapping copper split bolts on 3 phase motors

Me personally just use scotch gift wrap tape or duct tape for everything. Works dang good. 😂
