I think you’re forgetting the context of Germany
Look up the old borders of Europe , when the HRE was dissolved by Napoleon. The entire centre of Europe united is always going to be powerful, and it basically exists because of France and Russia (mostly France) being on either side. Similar to the context of Japan, they basically can’t go wrong … unless we’re talking about world wars

Heinrich Himmler was obsessed with religion and German pre-history. So much that one of his pet project involved archaeological digs throughout Germany. Hitler hated them because they disproved the Aryan narrative he was trying to form.
"Why do we call the whole world's attention to the fact that we have no past? It's bad enough that the Romans were erecting great buildings when our forefathers were still living in mud huts; now Himmler is starting to dig up these villages of mud huts and enthusing over every potsherd and stone ax he finds. All we prove by that is that we were still throwing stone hatchets and crouching around open fires when Greece and Rome had already reached the highest stage of culture. We really should do our best to keep quiet about this past. Instead Himmler makes a great fuss about it all. The present-day Romans must be having a laugh at these revelations."

This question always seemed strange to me. Germanic peoples have only been on top for the past couple of centuries (a big part of which was due to colonialism which is now mostly gone) and this power is already quickly fading. Whereas for far longer in the past the most successful places were in the Mediterranean, Middle east, Indian subcontinent, Sinosphere, etcetera. This fact alone should be enough to debunk racial superiority myths.

It might also have to do with fighting wars. For all the bad wars do they do encourage the nation fighting it to work harder to unify its people, and be innovative. Also if your nation is used to fighting wars all the time then when you roll up on a nation that doesn’t it’s easy to just walk all over them. A good example of this outside of the west is Japan. Japan became a colonial power almost immediately after it quit self isolating, meanwhile almost every other nation that was exposed to the European system couldn’t even protect itself much less learn from the Europeans and start incorporating their model of operating.
The problem with this is when several nations that are used to fighting wars and are very efficient at fighting them end up fighting each other down to the point of completely spending their economy and manpower.

Cold weather allowed people to stay in and think about stuff like science and the arts. Plus access to rivers which allowed them to trade and ability to access coal (especially britain) which developed a protestant individualistic society which allowed things like egalitarianism and things belonging to this group of people etc. things like family group type (being mostly wheat eating society) unlike societies like rice allowed for massive large estates for individual farmers developed competition 🤓

Not letting anyone in might be a good idea tho, it basically creates an internal pressure to create a perfect storm/crisis, and only with a crisis you will have a window of opportunity to fix/change what is wrong with your society.
I think, in my opinion, the East Asian countries should keep the closed door policies, while doing the best they could to restructure their societies or reprioritize from economic growth to social growth. This is a golden opportunity for them to figure a way to balance their economic and social needs
