I own a 2018 Speedmaster. I choose it over the hd sportster and the Indian scout. Retro yet modern. Great power/ sound. Cruise control, riding modes, brimbo brakes, great seat low riding position mid-forward controls. It’s great.
Can confirm this. India's bike market is usually focused on mid range bikes, because not everyone has the money and bikes are more utility than leisure. we even have a 125cc duke lol. The meteor, for example, runs you around 250k INR, which is around 3300 USD. Props to you for including the perak tho, was not expecting that! Fine machine, that one. Really enjoying your videos, keep it up! :D

3:06 Thanks ‘Bart’ outstanding content, again. I’m ‘Johnny-BikeSanooK’ =RE= Meteor 350 Supernova owner. My Thai wife bought this Royal Enfield ‘Thumper’ on my 72nd birthday after four years of challenging TKR (Total Knee Replacement)

@@apexxxx10 nice & thoughtful purchase.
Just took possession of a 2022 Speedmaster Goldline. A work of art and awesome to ride as a cruiser, with loads of bottom torque. Love it!
The Speedmaster is more a cruiser than the Bobber. It has forward controls and pulled back beach bar. Where the Bobber has mid-controls and flat bar. I own a 2022 Speedmaster, very comfortable, torquey, laid back bike. Wish it was a little bigger, but it is still a great, fun motorcycle. Love it!
That Bonnie Bobber looks amazing. I love how they've set up the rear suspension to make it look like a 1930s hardtail. That separated seat too... Love it!
When the speed master came out it sold better that year over the standard bobber& bobber black and still does today. I would say its designed even more retro over the regular bobber with all the chrome and so on so appeals to that generation.
Proud owner of a Yamaha XV950 Racer (Yamaha Bolt C Spec in some places), best cruiser imo.

I have a Yamaha V-Star 1100. I've customized it over the years so that now it's kind of bobber-ish. I think it's a great cruiser and cool-looking. It's heavy - over 600lbs wet. But, it's taken me a lot of places and I have noooooo complaints.
Mate, the reason bobbers look like cruisers is because that’s what bikers in the 50’s were cutting down, or bobbing in order to get them to move faster. In the 50’s, in the US, all bikes basically had the same design cues, and most people were buying ex-army bikes because they were cheap and plentiful.
I have a 2022 Speedmaster and I have it proudly parked in-between my 2015 HD Ultra Limited and my 2007 Bonnie T100! It's my favorite!
I have a 2018 speedmaster. I love this bike. I’ve ridden it from Texas to Oregon to California Montana. Extremely comfortable and reliable! Riding to the dragon in June! Wouldn’t trade this bike for nothing.
I’ve been riding for 41 yrs, the last 38 of which has been strictly Harley-Davidson. September of ‘21 l discovered the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. I wasted no time in buying one! What a fun little sled! I guess they’re pretty pricey, but after paying north of 20 large for H-D’s, l thought it was pretty reasonable! 🤷♂️🤣 Now my Harley is collecting dust while l’m riding the wheels off the Triumph!❤️
Best looking bike on sale today imo. I cant help but feel like a god every time I ride one.
Sadly because Harley have managed to get a 40% import duty applied years ago Americans still pay far too much for all imported bikes.
Another 40 year rider here .
Got a shed full of quick stuff & interested to see which way the cruiser market is going .
Good choice on triumph , evel preferred them for jumping but was pressured to use harleys for obvious reasons
Really enjoying your selection of topics and using the preview vids from the manufacturers and with great editing and production. Interesting varied selections too. Well done. I think Royal Enfield are making a 650 twin bobber/cruiser style bike coming up and it will be a low price option as well.
I own a 2022 Speedmaster and I love it. Sweet ride, great looks.
I own a 2011 triumph speedmaster. It’s my first bike, and it’s beginner friendly. I’m 5’8” and very comfortable to ride. It’s heavy but powerful off a stoplight. It turns a lot of heads and sounds beautiful.
I fell in love with the shadow 750.
I have had faster lighter and heavier bikes , but this one feels just right. I sold my 1st and miss it so got me another one .
I remember in the 70s, Jawa made a CZ, for off road, (motocross I think.)
In Finland called the JAWA "zett-ZETT"
I first learned of Moto Guzzi's Eldorado and the California a few months ago (I assumed they only made standards) and I am in love with the design of them from the vintage models to the modern ones.
The last generation of the Eldorado I find is an especially good looking bike.
I spent years going from smaller bikes to monsters. My first bike at thirteen years of age was a Whizzer motorbike that my father helped me rebuild. Next was a Triumph 500 single and then moving to 650 BSA lighting, then came a 750 Honda Magna and finally to a Harley. After that it was more big bikes. The next thing for me was the quarter mile and I bought a Yamaha Vmax. I decided long range cruising was next so came the Kawasaki ZZR1200 with glass bags and trunk. And last was another Harley but this time something that looked closer to a factory chopper but with fuel injection and that was the Harley Deuce. What I discovered was that I enjoyed the bikes under 750 cc the most. They were simply more fun to ride.
The Bonneville Speedmaster has an extremely comfortable riding position. That's what's great about it over the other Bonnies.
My Honda Aero resembles a vintage Indian without any old bike issues. It looks like what a guy my age understands as a motorcycle, Im a happy man. 🙏
I have a 2022 Speedmaster and I really love it. It has all the power and torque to make it really fun and it sound terrific. I get a lot of comments of how cool it looks. Its my daily and only ride ride. I live in San Francisco and work in the city and it moves easily in town traffic. I am a native Northern Californian and and I take advantage of the wonderful countryside for weekends get-a-ways with my wife riding with me. It is a comfortable ride for both of us even on these long rides into the country. The seating position is great. Good breaks, shocks and handling. Take one for a ride!
It's really cool for you to include a Jawa. My grandfather had an old jawa motorcycle. He sold it to a friend, some years before he passed. My dad is planning to buy it back from him.
popular in Finland during the 50s and 60s trading with the communist Soviet Union.
Agreed
I had a 350 twin 2 stroke jawa with sidecar years ago .
The gear lever was also the kickstart & a foot clutch .
Strange bikes but good fun
Be who you are and do things that bring smile to your face. Do not ever buy things to impress others.
The Triumph Bobber and the BMW R18 are brilliant handling bikes. Having ridden both, at 188cm tall, I preferred the way I sat in the R18. Not to mention the unbelievable power. The bike goes where you point it and is confidence building, a must ride.
My roomate has an older Speedmaster that spent most of it's life sitting outside in San Diego. Speedo needle is gone, its surface rusted and has a big ol' dent in the tank but it keeps on truckin'. The issue I have with it is the same issue I had with my 97' Trophy, it's top heavy and handles like it.
I I had a 69 Moto Guzzi Ambassador and that was a great riding bike. It is a cruiser and rode like a dream as it was smooth and quiet. Then had a 71 or 72 Moto Guzzi California which was used by the California Hwy Patrol and the L.A. Pd. It was also a great cruiser and I loved it. Sold it a few years later when I bought a new house and car for the wife. Could not afford all of the new bills, insurance, etc., so the bike had to go.
the BMW bikes with the horizontal pistons was cool 100 years ago....for about a week....German blunder.
My friend had an old 2 stroke Jawa years ago, and the strange thing with it was the shifter could spin up and turn into the kick starter.
I love the Speedmaster! I love the way it looks, and I want one in the worst way, except there are rumors that Royal Enfield I’d going to release a Meteor With a 650 twin.S&S has big bore kits in 750 and 850 cc’s. The 850 kit requires a good machinist to put it together, whereas the 750 kit is pretty much a DIY thing.
Suzuki S40 Boulevard. Single cylinder, single carb, single exhaust. Easy and inexpensive to maintain. Definitely cruiser styled, and way lighter and cheaper than a lot of the bikes listed. And I'm 6'4" and feel very comfortable on the bike.
I really like that motorcycle, and remember it being launched long ago as the Suzuki savage. Sadly it is not available in the U.K. Impressed that you find it comfortable for your size, as it looks quite compact. I'd love to try one, would be much more practical than my Bobber for most journeys.
I love the look of the Triumph myself!
I love the look of the Speedmaster, and hoping to get one at some point, a bit out of my budget yet sadly. ':)
I had a 2018 Speedmaster and a 2015 Speedmaster. The 2018 is an amazing torky sexy little thing, the key word being little. The suspension was a bit stiff, but it was a fun fun bike to ride, with plenty of power. And cruise control, ABS, dual front Brembo brakes, etc. It really is a pretty machine, but your passenger will get tired of the ride in short order. I now have a Yamaha Raider which makes me a bit happier. Yamaha just does it better than everyone else cross category in my opinion.
Yep I’ve got a Speedmaster. In fact it’s the same color combo as the one pictured. I like it and while the seat looks comfortable it’s a little too far forward. I’m 5’11” and will probably have the seat redone.
The Triumph Bobber Black haunts my dreams. I will own one someday.
if the V9 comes with a cute girlfriend on the pillion included - I want one
That is the whole point, Tim, see you buy the V9 in this case, get some cool garb and sun glasses and go cruising. Guaranty that cute girl is out there waiting for you.👍
4:08 I'm a fan of mini-metrics, there's something special for a 'bigger' small bike. I have a GV125c where it's powerful for a 125 but doesn't have much in the way of overall power. It's a FABULOUS round town bike. It's big enough to get you noticed and super comfortable but small enough that you're not going to be stuck fitting it in a small gap. if you're doing 30-40 all day, i'd choose a mini-metric over a commuter or big cruiser just because they're comfy and encourage slow relaxed riding.
Love the MG V9
No Indian scout? That thing's a work of art!
My 2007 Sportster 1200R Roadster has 74 horsepower and 78 lbs torque with K&N Hurricane air filter, Khrome Werks slip on mufflers, and Harley Davidson Fuel Pack.
Triumph Thunderbird 2014 model looks pretty retro with whitewalls and spoked rims.
I'd gone through a whole bunch of sports bike and wanted something slower. I remember once walking into a Harley dealership in London intending to try out their Fat boy - it was the look they gave me that made them lose a customer for life. At the Guzzi shop, they just chucked the keys to me and told me to come back when I'd decided. I ended up with a Guzzi California III and loved the bike. These days I ride around most on a Royal Enfield Pegasus - it's a gorgeous classic looking bike with kick start. It's slow as hell but that kind of suits me.
Nice lineup and narrative. I have a 35 year-old, Arlen Ness designed Honda VF700C, commonly known as the Super Magna, one of the first power cruisers. Comfortable, maneuverable, a rocket between from 6,000-10,000 rpm, and always gets lots of looks and comments. Didn't sell?! I consider it Honda's Avanti, ahead of its time.
You left out the best bike of all. The Kawasaki Z900RS 🤘😋🤘
I owned a Speedmaster (2010) and it was an enjoyable road bike. However, in the city its turning radius is too big, its heavy if it goes down, the damn footpegs were forward, that back seat sucks for a passenger, so I got rid of it. But it IS a cruiser.
Of all the triumphs the speedmaster is my favorite
Great video even though you omitted the best choice. In my biased opinion that would be my Harley Heritage Softail. Truly a blast back to the past……
Too bad Honda dont make Shadow ACE anymore. I would ride one with a little more cc. That's why I ride a Triumph Storm. That's a cruiser. But if.... money was not a concern, I would try the BMW R18.
Have you ever done anything on the Suzuki Savage? That did the retro brit-bike bobber thing back in 1988. I was able to get a super deal on a used one as my first bike and that was what turned me on to vintage British motorcycles.
That triumph bobber looks amazing in personal imo, my s.o loves it! I wonder how it feels riding such thing. Has anybody here tried it yet?
I own one and was out riding it today. Loads of low down torque makes it an easy relaxing motorcycle to ride.
Jawa is Checkoslovakian brand of the Warsaw pact past. They used to make very similar motorcycle in the 60s. It was 250 parallel twin two stroke. Then they upgraded to a 350
Perak: Not in the 60s but in the late 1940s.
Popular in Suomi-Finland in 50s and 60s,during the so called Finlandization
I had a 350 with a chair on it .
The kickstart was also the gear lever & a foot clutch.
Fun little bikes
You forgot another, very unique retro cruiser - The Excelsior-Henderson Super X! Yes, they were only produced for 2 years, but they were designed from the ground up, not a Harley or Honda clone. They were modern for 1999, including anti-dive, dual overhead cams, and closed loop fuel injection. Amazing what a couple of motivated brothers can do when they apply themselves.
I own a '18 Speedmaster, a marvelous bike and more agile than one would expect.
When I ride my meteor I think I'm riding a big cruiser. The ride position is cool ❤️

Might be good to offer a little more insight than just reading off the specs. Example, you mentioned the skinny tank of the sportster but it might be helpful for beginners to know that this means their knees will be uneven on the motorcycle because they will have the air box sticking out on one side, and a limp knee with nothing to grip on the other side.
I would try a Perak. You got my attention on the British 300cc. Really. Struggle between that and 1981 Honda cb 750 in excellent condition. Kinda same light blue tank. But it’s heavy I’m sure .

Say what you will but my favorite vintage British bike is the Kawasaki W800.
The XS 650 I meant, and they made them from 1971-1985 sorry about that. They still have a huge following, trackers, street trackers, stock, bobbers, choppers, and even side-car bikes. Mikes XS has many of the original suppliers making part for them and supporting them.
Speedmaster, best motorcycle I have ever owned.
The Triumph Speed master is more a cruiser then the rest with the exception of the Harley and the ELDORADO because the only one has the forward controls and suits taller riders. All ready have older H D Softail, H D fatboy and a Motto Guzzi California 1400. I like them all. Just turned 60 years of age, 6’2 tall, thinking of adding a cool lighter cruiser than I all ready have, The speed master might be the right choice ??
Nice video dude
The thing I don't like about the Bobber is the low tail-end - no rear seat. The Speedmaster looks much more balanced.
The Grom wasn't ever available in India. Instead, we had the 'Grom we have at home', aka, the Honda Navi.

Nowadays we should consider also the Super Meteor from Royal Enfield, with its reliable parallel twin 650 cc motor, that make it a more reasonable criuser motorcycle for ong distances than the meteor 350 single
Watch "Red Ang"s videos from the UK.
He rides the Triumph Speedmaster. He travels with it all over Europe.
By the way cool video.
Some nice bikes but personally hate the big high bars and forward controls find them so uncomfortable for going any distance . Give me the flat bars like on the Triumph Bonneville any day , but each to their own I suppose
Indian made piece of "Vintage" British engineering, they look so much like the OG Cafe & Cruisers because they really are the OG Cafe & Crusers, some still use the original "Tooling" from the 30's/40's. I don't own a Cruser, I "Personally" don't see the point here in the UK, but I do have a Suzuki GSX750F(SlingShot) that I modded with a modded GSXR750 bottom end with an extra gear & GSX750F top end that has been Jetted, Ported & new HiLift cams, it looks "Stock AF" & I'm wearing out knee sliders & selling them to "Posers" so they can look legit, my 10 year old granddaughter helped me build it, she is f#ckin amazing, she tells me she is going to be a bike builder, & I don't doubt it for a second, but with all the "Silverware" she keeps winning I'm not sure she will have the time.
If only any English Factory could make a reliable machine? Bert Hopwood is sadly missed but his prophesies have come true.

Okay, first, feedback on the video production: if you are going to put words on screen, use a highly contrasting color. White over light colors are impossible to read. Especially if on a phone screen. And with a changing background, you make it worse. You might also consider a larger font. Us older riders don’t need eye tests in our videos. Especially if we’re watching on our phone.
Second, thank you for the video. I’m an old cruiser rider but I find the bobber style catching my eye more each day. I’m thinking of going the route of converting a cruiser to a bobber. Your comments in this video are appreciated.
I had a Jawa 175 back in late 70s. It was made by CZ.

I have owned a 98 honda Valkyrie for 10 months, it's vast
I went to a Triumph dealer to try out the Speed Twin. I mentioned the fact that I sometimes have issues with the seat height on standard bikes as I'm only 5'1", and he pointed me towards the Bobber. I looked at it and I was a little bit blown away! The styling is fantastic. big 1200cc motor, LOVELY LOW SEAT HEIGHT, "This is it" I thought. Then I test rode it.... Now, I know all bikes these days have to fit into some stupid un-quantified "pigeon -hole", so people can latch on to the "tribe" that they are supposed to be buying into when they get a certain bike. And those pigeonholes dictate certain features on a bike. As it turns out the "bobber" pigeonhole is part of the "cruiser" tribe, which dictates FORWARD FOOTPEGS. - And I HATE forward footpegs!
So, for me, the Triumph Bobber is a FANTASTIC bike design, with a nice meaty engine and unusually a LOW seat height - COMPLETELY RUINED by stupid Harley-wannabe forward footpegs. Why the **** can't they have an option to put the footpegs in the normal place!!!! But of course, that option lives in the same compartment entitled "good design" which also contains an option for most other types of bikes to have a LOWER SEAT HEIGHT. Which gets omitted on every single bike design (WHY???).
My search continues...
Forward footpegs are an option in the UK - it comes standard with pegs in the middle
@@ndrnorman Yes, that's what I mean. I don't like footpegs which are forward of the standard position - whatever you call them. When I was test riding a Bobber, I was constantly putting my foot on the middle of the exhaust pipe, because the footpegs were in the wrong place (forward of where they should be).
After riding a fast 60s Norton Dominator weighing about 400 no way I’m flogging 550 lbs. for my last bike. And then there’s plastic carbs on EFI. I want a Norton Interstate and I want it soon!
Although the coolest looking bike in this line-up, it is too bad that the BMW r18 has no forward controls for such a huge cruiser. I imagine the reasoning is because of the 1800cc opposing twin making this near impossible to engineer. I would imagine this would make for an uncomfortable ride for a long haul. In 2016 I bought a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird in the blue/white stripe Shelby colour for a decent $7500 CAN. What a beautiful bike with full comfort forward controls and in my opinion the nicest retro-style cruiser ever. No one has ever mistaken it for a Harley want to be bike, nothing but positive comments.
Janus motorcycle is an interesting one
I will always go for a Triumph because I got my first bike 48 years ago ( 66 Bonneville)
It was the best bike I ever had and would love to find it. Mistakenly I sold it because I was about to become a Dad and figured I’d never ride it much. Boy was I wrong! I have been searching for that bike for 20 years and have hit a dead end every time.
If anyone has any wisdom to share with me
Confirmed! - An Indian enjoying your channel.
Maybe you're speaking about new bikes but you left out the VTX retro from Honda I know they don't make it anymore but they nailed it with style in my opinion

I would love to see a faithful R50 reproduction.
No mention of the older Honda GoldWings, of Which I had4 of them! ('83. '85, '87, '91) Strange!
I bought a Triumph Speedmaster new in '07. This one is the last with carbs and displaces 865 CC and it goes like stink. It has excellent performance and handles like a dream. It comes with really fat tires and I installed a Corbin leather saddle to replace the stock saddle. The shame of it is that due to health reasons I have not been able to ride it for the last 5 years and thus it has only 13 K miles on it. It does 100 MPH easily and that is about all the speed I can handle even on dead straight and totally empty Nevada highways. Hitting a turtle on the road at that speed would be a disaster and I value my pelt more than I need the speed. And we have plenty of desert turtles all over the state. It is a true cruiser and for about a year it was my only vehicle. I would go to the supermarket and fill my saddlebags and then bungee cord the rest of my purchases onto the rear rack and seat and toodle off to home. 50 MPG and never used any oil at all. Easy to maintain and a joy to ride.
What about Kawasaki W800 Street? I would add it to this list.
7:47 riding a Triumph will make you sexy AND sociable
I love how confident they are about theyr products hahahaha
I wished u also included royal Enfield interceptor 650
I own a 2022 Speedmaster (see it here! ruclips.net/video/SiR50ANhBUk/видео.html ), so to answer your question: The SM has forward controls, swept back bars and the seat is also more comfy, so the seated position and ride is very different to the Bobber. Much more relaxed. The engine mapping/tuning is also more relaxed. As you noted, it has a subframe and rear seat as standard, so is more set up for cruising/touring.
I think of the Speedmaster (terrible name for it, because speed is really the last feature you get one for) as a Gentleman's Cruiser. The Bobber is more of a fun cafe racer.
I think the Speedmaster sold well or even better than the Bobber, but it seems to get less attention. I'm actually pleased about this. Wouldn't want it to feel 'common' hehe.
Just want to know when R.E. will introduce its 650 cruisers and bobbers.
I would buy the Triumph Speedmaster tomorrow IF they doubled the tank size.
Grom isn't sold in India. I have been waiting for it for a very long time now. Honda Navi was first sold and made in India but it didn't sell well and the sales in India were stopped. But it was sold for around $700 in India and now costs around $1800 in the US iGuess.

You picked some good bikes for your list. Especially the Moto Guzzis and Royal Enfield. They are so underrated. So many people don't have a clue. Thank you for attempting to educate some of the ignorant people out there. A good friend of mine is a typical Harley Rider and has never even heard of a Motor Guzzi or a Royal Enfield.
How did u miss the new Indian scout bobber?
I had no idea crocker was around again.
Sweet
A bobber is originaly a pilot or mecanic on a WW2 airfield putting 16" airplaine crocker tires on a harley . That's the origin.
