E o poveste simplă în Vechiul Testament. Ruth este una din cele două femei moabite care se căsătoreste cu unul din fii lui Elimelech şi Naomi. Când Elimelech şi fii Mahlon şi Chillion mor, lăsând in urma trei femei vaduve Naomi soacra o văduvă săracă, cu două nurori neevreice, ea a decis să se întoarcă în Israel. O noră, Orpah, i-si ia de la ea la revedere decizand sa ramana cu neamul ei iar cealalta noră Ruth spune ca nu se va desparti de ea si merge cu ea. Se hotaraste să renunţe la viaţa şi de cultura din Moab ca sa fie cu Naomi . etc......

The movie blesses me and I appreciate the work they did. For me the movie passes the message the that the writer tried to potray in this movie and that is love hope nd faith.
Everytime im having anxiety or stressed in my heart... i watch biblical movies. I feel better almost immediately. A calmness comes over me.

Yes yes come the same thing here, every time there's issues in my life that is very stressful, I watch all the biblical stories it makes my problems and issues seem small and to know that God is great all the time.

I am back here because life can be so overwhelming and this story is very reassuring that God can do anything for anyone who believe.

I'm confused. The isrealites sacrificed humans. So why were they so upset that others did it as well? Why would they go into others lands then rebel against those whom have them sanctuary instead of finding an uninhabited land and build their own lives.

@@phillipstroll7385 It is true that at times the Israelites also sacrificed their children’s lives and worshiped idols. But that was done in rebellion against God and they paid a very heavy price for it too. Please read Jeremiah and Laminations in the Old Testament for some detailed explanations of Israel’s sins and God’s punishment. Over and over again we find that God is a just and fair God who punishes sin but also wants his people to come back to him and worship him. God still has a wonderful plan for Israel too and one day soon a remnant of true believers will turn back to him just like the Bible predicted and accept Jesus Christ as their true Messiah. But there’s a lot of pain and suffering in store for Israel until they get there. I encourage you to read both the Old and New Testament with an open mind and you will discover God’s awesome plan of salvation for whosoever puts their faith and trust in him. John 3:16 says it best. Have a blessed evening.

Who is watching in 2023? This is a huge masterpiece! I'm chuffed. The story of Ruth rekindles in us the spirit of tenacity and doggedness. I would have to say the movie is fictional. They did a good job making it fiction. But the story line is not in any way accurate to the book of Ruth. Ruth is one of my favorite books. Brings tears of joy to my eyes everything I read it. If you want to really know the account, you will have to read Ruth from the Scriotures. The book of Ruth is a most beautiful story of redemption for not only Ruth, but Naomi. Please do not base this movie on the actual events. I have notice they do this with all stories from the Bible. Just want to share for those who think this is how it went down. I am firm believer to not add or take away from the Scriptures.

Despite what Hollywood and 99.9% of preachers will tell you, Ruth was an Israelite. Anyone conducting a thorough study on the historical background of the book of Ruth will without a doubt find that Ruth was in fact an Israelite and not a native Moabite.

If a person is truly remorseful over their sin or error, then they can be forgiven. When David had sexual relations with Bathsheba and arranged for her husband to be killed by enemy forces, he was forgiven due to being genuinely repentant.
God sent Nathan the prophet to David, who then used an illustration of a rich man and poor man living in the same city, whereby the rich man had a visitor, and instead of choosing from among his large flock of sheep, took the one lone sheep from a poor man that was like "a daughter to him, and "prepared it for the man who had come to him" to show David what he had done, in having it arranged that Bathsheba's husband Uriah would be killed by the Ammonites when the Israelites were fighting with the city of Rabbah.(2 Sam 12:1-4, 26)
Because David had been a compassionate shepherd in his youth, he immediately felt anger at the rich man taking the one lone sheep from the poor man, and said: "As surely as Jehovah is living, the man who did this deserves to die ! And he should pay for the lamb four times over, because he did this and showed no compassion.”(Note: Jehovah is God's personal name)
Nathan now said that "You are the man !", that "you struck down U·riʹah the Hitʹtite with the sword ! Then you took his wife as your wife after you killed him by the sword of the Amʹmon·ites. Now a sword will never depart from your own house, because you despised me by taking the wife of U·riʹah the Hitʹtite as your wife.’ This is what Jehovah says: ‘Here I am bringing against you calamity from within your own house."(2 Sam 12:9-11)
David, now cut to the heart for his egregious wrongs, said: "I have sinned against Jehovah", so that Nathan the prophet tells him: "Jehovah, in turn, forgives your sin. You will not die. Nevertheless, because you have treated Jehovah with utter disrespect in this matter, the son just born to you will certainly die.”(2 Sam 12:13, 14)
Though David was forgiven of his sin, a penalty was enforced, such as the newborn child died after only living for seven days and that "calamity from within your own house" would occur, as when Absalom his son, tried to usurp the throne and kill his father some 20 years later, with Absalom having sexual relations with his father's 10 concubines (2 Sam 15:16; 16:20-22), and then for another of his sons, Adonijah, who unsuccessfully tried two different approaches to take over the throne from David his father.(1 Kings 1:5-53; 2:13-25)
David's true remorsefulness contrasts with King Saul, who never showed any genuine remorse over his wrongs, so that at Gilgal, after his failure to devote the Amalekites to destruction, Samuel told King Saul: "Does Jehovah take as much pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah ? Look ! To obey is better than a sacrifice, and to pay attention than the fat of rams; for rebelliousness is the same as the sin of divination, and pushing ahead presumptuously the same as using magical power and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has rejected you from being king.”(1 Sam 15:1-3, 22, 23)
Isaiah 55 says: "Search for Jehovah while he may be found. Call to him while he is near. Let the wicked man leave his way and the evil man his thoughts; Let him return to Jehovah, who will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will forgive in a large way."(Isa 55:6, 7)
David ' searched for Jehovah ' with genuine humility while King Saul lost any humility he may have had when he was selected as king to lead the nation of Israel (1 Sam 9:15-17), becoming deeply suspicious and jealous, failing to remain humble, so that he tried over a period of some ten years to murder David.(1 Sam 10:20-24; 18:6-11)

When I start feeling overwhelmed by life in this era, I come to the story Of Ruth and Esther.. They remind me of what those who came before us went through & how strong they were. I hope to be as brave as these women!
I can and have, watched this over & over and over again. I believe that's why God put their stories in the bible. So we are reminded & find renewed hope / faith .

I like the stories of Ruth, and Esther, my mom's sister's name is Ruth, the name Ruth means Friend, or companion, Esther had two names her Hebrew name was Hadassah which means Myrtle, her Babylonian name Esther is derived from the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, the goddess of love.
I believe God is making me strong especially threw all the things I've endured and continue to endure. Bless the lord

Naomi's unconditional love for Ruth brought me to tears. She didn't blame her for her husband death, the deaths of her two son's or any of the conflict that happened between the towns people and herself. She was loving, gracious, forgiving and wise.
This is only a movie that have taken many "Poetic License" -the real story of Ruth much more harsh. You have go into the Jewish text to find the real story. Yes, indeed in this movie version with "Poetic License" -Naomi is a very good mother-in-law

Watched this after I decided to focus more on reading the word of God than binge watching korean dramas. Very beautiful story on the life of Ruth and of God’s faithfulness in her life. Mahlon is really underrated, thanks to his life example Ruth was able to know God. Kudos to the whole team for making this film. I will be re studying again the book of Ruth. Thank you

I just love Ruth's wardrobe change, its symbolic. She goes from being proud in her gold jewelry and fancy robes to being humble in simpler clothes. Not that fancy thingd are wrong, but in this case, it was symbolic of her pagan lifestyle. I think she looked better, more human, in the Jewish style clothes
That scream at the child sacrifice was so powerful! It really makes you think about all of the evil she must have realized in that second.
So much raw emotion in this beautiful story , it isn't all biblical but the core of it is, we ought to never give up , through trials and tribulations , GOD is there & HE will make our latter greater than our former, HE will make our bitter valleys sweet rivers of living waters, thank YOU for sending me an Angel! @@sophiawilson8696 You are right that David was a killer. It was G-d who told Samuel to anoint David as the next king of Israel so the crown of the king was ordained by G-d through Samuel. David's father didn't like David and in many ways did not think of David as his son. The reason why Samuel kept asking, "Do you have other sons?" When Samuel saw David's eyes, Samuel was very much frightened. As the story goes on that David was very frightened of King Saul and felt that it was not worth living life. There is much Jewish text on this topic too long for the 66 books of the the Bible. Without the Jewish text, the Bible is a brief outline of Biblical people and their lifestyle.
@@sophiawilson8696 No! Please read the Bible. David did not steal the crown from Saul but Saul in his fits of jealousy and rage did attempt to kill David a number of times. David was very gracious and patient with Saul and even when David had a good opportunity to kill Saul he refused to do so because he still respected Saul as God’s anointed king. Saul actually committed suicide by falling on his own sword. Was David a perfect man? No, he wasn’t and yet the Bible says that David was a man after God’s own heart. David was also a prophet and wrote many of the psalms. Psalm 23 is a beautiful psalm written by David that praises God for his goodness and mercy to everyone who puts his faith and trust in him. I hope you take the time to read it. It will truly bless you and help you draw closer to God.
The older actress who plays Naomi has an incredibly expressive face. She really brings her wise and warm character to life, with a touch of shrewd humor. I wish I had such a female mentor to learn from when I was Ruth's age. Alas, my dear mother died much too young.
She's the same actress who plays Mother Superior in The Sound of Music...the same wit and wisdom...

Moses, a 2 version of The Life Of JESUS, The Ten Commandments, and it's so wonderful to emerse myself in these Beautiful TRUE Stories of The Bible!!!! I've emersed myself because the virus and we are staying indoors spice is the best way to stop the spread, but the ABSOLUTE BEST WAY to STOP IT DEAD IN IT'S TRACKS IS JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!! This Ruth movie has inspired me since I first watched it on TV in the 70s with my parents and i was little like Ruth and now it's 2023 and I'm still watching. I hope my daughter will one day watch this movie too!
The book of Ruth was God’s revelation to me of himself!!! Years ago I would open my bible and it would appear on the Book of Ruth every time I opened it. It scared me. I asked my fathers child what it meant and he said next time it happens ask God what does it mean. And I did. And he showed me Ruth 3:10-11. Blessed are u of the lord my daughter because u have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning in as much as thou followest not young men wether poor or rich and now my daughter fear not I will do to thee all that requirest because all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman!!! We serve an amazing God!!! I still quote this scripture to God today when I’m praying, especially during trying times!!! He is a man of his word. He has never failed me!!!

I first read this story many years ago, when I was nobbut a lad - and I thought what a lovely story it was. I just read it again in the KJV and it was very difficult to understand. Too much he said she said for my ease of understanding.

I was looking for this movie for a long time. At last I found it! I used to watch Ruth during the holy week when I was still a young child. Thanks you so much!
The costuming in this film is wonderful. My parents took me to see this in the cinema when I was just a child. I didn't understand most of it, but I do recall being impressed by the sudden blemish that appeared on young Ruth's arm. Now I am in my senior years and enjoying the social dynamics among the main characters.

Ruth is my inspiration in my love life, I told the lord I don't care if the man who left me never come back n I never find love again. I'm happy I have Jesus ,the holy ghost n speaking in other tongues, my mom n the fact that Ruth found happiness n had marriage n children. N I told the lord every time I get discouraged I'll think of how happy he made Ruth n that's alright with me, I later on listened to bishop Bonner on RUclips until fell asleep. Nope, you’re not the only one. I did also. This movie is extremely different than what Scripture says. Not only is the story quite different but the timeline is completely different. Ruth is a shining example of humility, love, and faithfulness to Naomi. Despite her background in the pagan world, she is drawn to and curious about the God of Israel, much like an unbeliever who is open to discovering the truth about Christ❤..... Just to share, after my husband passed away, it was incredibly challenging to adjust to a normal life. My daughter and I made the difficult decision to return to the Philippines, but the transition was tough without my husband by my side. As a widow, I found the strength to return to my home country, relying on my faith in the Lord. It was a daunting prospect, especially since we had to start from zero after selling everything before moving to another country. I am incredibly grateful to God for being with me during difficult time. I am not completely alone, and I can see how He is taking care of us, after 6years as a widow, I met my man like Boaz and we got married.

You guys do realize this story is almost entirely fictional. About the only thing that isn't is the names of the characters, their spouses, and whether they live or die.
Yes, I able to see how our Lord, works in holding the true way of welcoming another religion who have only believed what she was raised by, until she found the true path and thirst for more of our true God. Until you really want and desire the true meaning of thirst to read to follow and hold deep into our heart. It will never get old if we keep that hunger and thirst to be the our Lord guides us to be. I believe that these movies can help others get a little visual of what is it like to a outcast, there are some good people still who value the true meaning of treat others the way you want to be treated. I hope that all who view this movie can also receive a little more understanding and gain the strength to persevere to follow that need to learn more and read the Bible follow Gods laws.
