Catching MASSIVE Topwater Pike on this VINTAGE Lure!

- In this video I head out to do some canal topwater pike fishing! I go to a bit of canal where I know some good pike live but they are difficult to catch, but can I persuade them to take this crazy vintage lure?!

Another awesome video, DB. I've seen you use them in your other videos, but in the last week I've now seen you and another UK RUclipsr using the LMAB Rodfather for topwater, so I had to have one. To be delivered from Predator Tackle this week. Looks like a killer rod handling those big top water pike. Can't wait to use it on top water bass over here. Cheers from the US!

Superb stuff! I used to love the older Heddon plugs. Torpedo and zara spook were easily my favourite ones. Great topwater pike as well 👍👍👍.
I was using the Crazy Crawler today, no luck this afternoon, but I do have faith in it. If they are there and prepared to come up to the surface I don't think it can let you down. When fishing downstream I have had success using a Shakespeare Big S on the surface. I draw it back against the current holding the line off the water to stop it sinking and it has a lovely subtle bow wave across the water when brought back slowly. Sometimes it can be a killer and Chubb love it too. ATB MMMD

what do you mean by out of season?
@@pikeguy1639 The course fishing close season, which runs 15th March-15th June. I’ve just read up on it, many canals may be open but you would need to check local bylaws. I just assumed it was all rivers and canals, but it’s definitely all rivers.

I've seen people dead baiting around there recently. Didn't fill me with confidence the way they were going about it.
Shouldn't be allowed to dead bait this time of year, the fish swallow the bait too quickly= dead pike!

My eyes hurt from seeing what you're doing with that fishing rod! Why do you catch your rod in the middle when landing a pike in the landing net?! The pike will then run away and snatch the rod from your hand.
