Hi Elle! I’m so excited!! I just put my first payment on my bearded dragon! Payment just to hold him until the enclosure arrives, so they will hold him for me 🥰 he is a Hypo juvie of about 41/2. - 5 months old. He is gorgeous 😍I am so super excited!! Your videos are so helpful! I watch them all! ❤️
Congratulations!!! I’m so excited for you! I remember the excitement I had waiting for my Ball Pythons to arrive. I have two and it was so cool setting things up for them and then receiving them at Fed Ex and bringing them home!!
@@loriw2661 awe, thank you! 🥰 I am so thrilled! And I never met him before! It was an online purchase with a breeder quite far away from me.. so it’s just so much more exciting to see him in person!!
That’s awesome! I had one of my anoles lay a fertile egg but died for some reason, then recently the same anole layed a slug. Thanks for sharing, have a blessed Sunday!
My bearded dragon someone gave me about year ago thought was male and she layed eggs just this week 12 of them infertile. She never stopped eating the hole time matter of fact she ate the day before she layed. Gave her a good check after and she has no eggs in her so was happy about that plus went from Wilbur to Wilma. Luckily I have substrate mix in her tank that is perfect for egg laying but she just layed them everywhere. Silly girl be love her alot. Thanks for all the great advice on lay boxes and signs to look for. GOD BLESS 🦎💖🐍💖🐢💖🐸💖
Goodmorning Elle! I hope you have a fantastic Sunday! I just got a female bearded dragon, so this will be very helpful! I think she might be Gravid… 😳 she’s showing quilts a few of the signs…
My beardie is doing all of those things: rapidly digging under her hide, especially in the afternoons. She also resembles a flat pancake, just as you described, when she sleeps on a flat surface. BUT: she is only 9 months old, approximately. Please help! Is there something else wrong with her? Eta: I am thinking I'll make a dig box anyway, put her in it for 2-3 days, and see if she does lay any eggs. She hasn't been with any males since she was a hatchling along with her siblings at the breeder's.
Do they stop eating when they lay eggs? How do you keep them from eating the substrate by accident and getting sick? Do they Brumate and stuff when they're gravid?
For some reason my bearded dragon has been extremely stressed the past couple of days idk why . He gets his veggies , and live insects everyday that he loves. The temps are the correct .
Can I just used the dirt and play sand as their normal substrate and make it 6 inches? Like what I have to put anything else to make The dirt and sand work or can I just leave that is the substrate and pulling fake plants and stuff
If the substrate is already a mix of sand and top soil. And they have I'd say 3 inches of it to dig. Can I just leave her in her enclosure and let her do her thing? I check on all my babies and tend to them multiple times daily. Which is why I sought your page for guidance when I had an idea something was different. Is there a need for any intervention on my part?
My bearded dragon which we assumed was male for 4 years last night laid a egg!!! I am worried because I don't know what to do I am only able to get ahold of reptile sand right now do you have to wet that
What about the impaction risk? We tried repti chips as a substrate for our beardie and she kept licking and ingesting the chips which ended up in a small impaction. Would she not also be impacted from eating the sand and soil?
I have a female beardie about a year old. She’s showing signs of being gravid but I’m so scared of using any type of loose substrate. The last time I caught her eating pebbles. I bought sphagnum moss not too long ago to help with her shedding and caught her eating it as well. She eats three times a day served insects in the a.m a snack later on in the afternoon and then greens. Dusted d3 repti cal 3x a week and multi vitamin 1x a week so no it’s not because she’s underfed. If anything she’s a little plump but that’s to be expected when she’s about to lay eggs I guess
should you just put your beard dragon down in the lay box and just leave her there until she has laid eggs or should you pick her up so she can sleep in her terrarium at night and just one last question there should be a lid on the box
Hey Elle! Were you ever afraid your dragon might eat that dig box substrate and become impacted? I just put one in my dragons tank and she started licking the air right when i put her in, i know shes probably just getting acclimated but it scares me i don’t want her to eat it lol
Hey its me again I have a question Have u ever got sick from touch your bearded dragon. I saw something that said they carry Salmona And now I am worried that they might Carry it.
I've never gotten sick, but it is something to be aware of. Reptiles sometimes carry salmonella in their digestive systems, so it can get on their bellies if they use the bathroom and then walk through it. So, preventing getting sick is as easy as cleaning up waste when it happens, and washing your hands after holding them. 😊
Hi Elle. I have 2 question about the baby bearded dragons. How can you tell if it's a boy or girl. My other question is do I have to seperate the mom and the eggs.
Can someone pls help me my bearded dragon lay about 5 eggs so then I put a box of coconut fiber in her tank but she keeps walking around the box and glass sliding and she won’t eat any food what do I do I don’t want her to get impacted with eggs
My beardie is up and down. Some days she eats good and shes basking all day...other days she's hiding and barely eats. It's never consistent. I have noticed her scratching the bottom of her enclosure lately and hiding more. She's only about 8 months old so I don't think she's old enough for egg laying yet. I've had to bathe her every couple days to get her to poo. When she was little, she ate a lot, she'd alot and pooped a lot. She's definitely slowed down a lot. I feel like she's not happy and idk what I'm doing wrong. She literally has everything. All the bells and whistles. Correct lighting, greens, a variety of bugs and a 4x2x2 enclosure. What do you think the problem could be?
I am currently searching this due to my 2 year old so said "male" beardie rango, is not male, yep a girl. And i was massageing his belly and felt lumps so, now im here.
Okay guys to be exact, the word “material” that Elle mentioned is actually called “Sperm” for those who needed more context. Female bearded dragons can retain sperm up to a year after being bred
Have a question your dragon layer two eggs? Mine did to what about the rest of eggs still in stomachs? Everything I’ve read and watched nothing is saying anything about them laying only two eggs I’ve been running around make sure she had dig box right soil and all the education no one is saying or showing me that this so normal?
@@heyucmeheyucme9145 My female bearded dragon lay two eggs at first then like one or two days later she lay one more then like maybe less then a week she lay eight more they don’t lay one or two they lay way more my bearded dragon lay in total of eleven eggs

Interesting information Elle, I don’t currently have a Beardie but anything can happen

Just found your channel from your “things I knew before I got a ball Python”
As Malcolm from Jurassic park said “life finds a way”
Do they stop eating when they lay eggs? How do you keep them from eating the substrate by accident and getting sick? Do they Brumate and stuff when they're gravid?
is westland top soil ok? im so worried to use a soil but already have it and thought would it be okay?
Can you please make a videos on the first couple of weeks of a leopard gecko. Like a timeline of when you adopt one btw love your vids ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I might get a bearded dragon soon, and if its a female i'll be sure to get ready for those things!
Do they lay more than one clutch? Or only that one time for there hole life “if not in contact with male”
For some reason my bearded dragon has been extremely stressed the past couple of days idk why . He gets his veggies , and live insects everyday that he loves. The temps are the correct .

Can I leave bearded dragon in lay bin overnight as long as temps r ok

They won't granted you give them proper heat

I have a question I'm trying to breed Leo's so do I have to wait for the female to be gravid then introduce the male to fertilize them?
gravid means they are pregnant

How did everything turn out. My dragon is displaying the same behavior and I’m lost. I’ve tried everything
Can it be a glass tank
My dragon chose to dig in her eco habitat and not a dif box, is that ok
