    I've had my beardie for about a year or so now and he's always on my shoulder when he's out and isn't wanting to roam around. Ever since he was a baby, I would take him out and he would just want to climb up my arms and sit on my shoulder. I used to call him my little parrot lol

    I made the mistake of handling on the first day. I took him out and walked around my room for 5 minutes with him in my hand about 5 times. Luckily he was good about it and didn’t get stressed out and just stayed on my hand. He liked me holding him.

    I used to put my hand in my leopard gecko Gizmo's tank for 5 minutes a day in an attempt to get her used to me...she never took anything to do with me. Out of frustration I just said "whatever" and started spot checking her tank with her in it and out of no where now when she sees me she just waits on my hand, smells me and continues on with whatever she's doing lol funny how things work. keep up the good work

    Your video's are so informative, i am trying to do what you suggest. I had a beardie for 12 years he recently passed, i recently got a new baby. He started out so nice, would step on my hand when i first got him or sit on my chest. he is about 4 months, and for the past 2 weeks as soon as i open the cage door he flares up and tries to bite or runs. I dont have other animals and its only my husband and i. i have taken him to the vet to ensure he is healthy and he is. I even went to a reptile show and was told all kinds of different advise some conflicting. He has a very large cage and sufficient lighting. I was told to reduce the size of his tank, now i did he stays hidden. I really want to have a friendly pet, what can i do? when he flares up i still pick him up as i dont want him to feel he is boss. But i also dont want to scare him. can you help me get the pet that i desire?

Usually I walk him to the window so he can stare outside a bit. I'm excited for him to start growing. Hope you're having a better time of it and can hold your dragon

    What is an easier reptile to keep in your opinion, bearded dragon or ball python. And yes I understand they are two very different animals. (not trying to sound rude)❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💗🙂🙂🙂

    • @stuckinthelazycorneragain4016
      @stuckinthelazycorneragain4016 3 года назад

      Like you said they are very different and each person will tell you what they personally have experienced. It shouldn't come down to "which one is easier" it should be which one you genuinely prefer to own. All animals can be "easy" or hard. Some basic info is lizards in general are more active than snakes and they tend to be more aware of you. Snakes live a lot longer than lizards 20-30 years (that's a big commitment). Bearded dragons have and need a very varied diet they can get bored of eating the same salads or bugs every day. It might not be easy to find or it might be expensive. Ball pythons are known to go weeks/months without food which can get expensive quickly (having to buy rats all the time only for the snake to refuse). Both bearded dragons and ball pythons are very calm and can be handled in general BUT keep in mind that each animal is an individual and you could end up getting one that hates it or just gets stressed out. I mention this because many get a reptile because they have the idea that they enjoy handling so they make good pets but the truth and fact is reptiles do not enjoy handling and it is known to cause more harm than good. So be aware that you might no actually get to interact with either a bearded dragon or ball python as much as you would like. Both make greats pets as long as you know and respect what they are. To summarize this once again choose the one you would like to watch and spend money on for the next 10 years at least. I was in the same position you are in I ended up going with a bearded dragon and I don't regret it 😊

    I had my baby beardie for about a month now, and no matter what i do he NEVER wants to be handled. Ive been taking it really slow, but the moment I walk near the tank he runs and hides. Its really unfortunate because I HAVE to chase him around to take him to the vet and give him a bath. He hates drinking water, despite being dehydrated... Im completely at a loss. I guess ill just keep trying.
