Man, that D'angelico is loud & bright at the same time.... sounds like it's amplified !! ( I know it's supposed to sound like that) !! That era is such a great age of guitars ! Thanks Michael !
ABSOLUTELY A WORK OF ART HERE THIS IS HOW I ENJOY LEMMO, NOT AN AMP OR PEDAL TO BE FOUND HE'S SUCH A GOOD PLAYER HE IS I OWN A D'ANGELICO CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042 USA
Nice. I have a new rebranded reproduction D'Angelico. This model shown in the video was made by John D'Angelico, he only made about 1,200 in his lifetime and they're all worth a lot and very sought after.
Great demo, Michael ! Nailed it !! I believe a 'common' electric guitar was a few years away (EH 130 amp). Guitars like this were Pro Player built to be part of the rhythm section and project, slamming comp chords like the second part....well, maybe Eddie Lang played some solos :) The Depression. This had the best of the best. Yesterdays was a work of art. This takes the cake ! man, maybe something $150 then. People were having trouble paying a nickle for a loaf of bread.
Mike you are the man, I'll be honest, you rock, work at a fantastic place with fantastic people and I know you're musical career will go a long way, I've played 25 years, but you got many pros beat, ya play sweet serious guitar, I commend you, and watch guitar of the day every day. Come give me lessons, lol. God speed and a great career. Mitchell Magee, stafford Virginia. God bless.
Agnesi had the smarts about guitar history which I miss , but damn every time Lemmo plays in GOTD I’m inspired to pick up my guitar and play! Also props to to Jen the quality is always on point,
😮. Please let me win the lottery. That guitar, (and playing, of course), straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Kudos to Michael for the sweet tunes - what a beauty of a guitar!!!
As beautiful as the wood and everything is, I feel like the headstock might be the coolest part of that guitar (aesthetically). It also sounds really great. The more I see these archtops on good GOTD, the more I like the idea of that type of guitar.
Hey somebody just told me that today is the birthday of the Flying V! It was introduced on January 6 1958! Happy birthday to the hardest guitar to play sitting down.
Since Mark is gone I miss completely the informative part of guitar of the day videos. C'mon guys a bit of storytelling! It's cool when u can learn something and not just listen how the guitar sounds ;)
frets are worn down, prolly 25 thous, time for new frets. & the bridge top is NOT even compensated. one would think that the thing would be set up to play in tune with compensation at bridge and nut

Mikey is so humble! All true greats are made this way!
I took some lessons from a local jazz guitarist that had one of these. One of the most beautiful guitars I've ever played.

The neck caught my eye, beautiful back too. Michael’s playing never disappoints, I’m in awe of his breadth.
That headstock is absolutely insane
What a beauty!
Love this channel!!!!!!
Great demo, Michael ! Nailed it !!

Dream guitar for sure.
WOW! THEY GO BACK THAT FAR? I LOVE THESE GUITARS.
Wow those vintage D'Angelico's are beautiful and well crafted jazz boxes, id love to have one in my collection...
ML… I believe when one can match the song selection to the instruments strengths, that would be called teaching a ‘Master Class’! Thank you sensei.
Wow that tone is amazing
This guitar makes me weak in the knees it sound so good. and that blond color 💛💛💛💛💛🧡
First song is an improv over Wes Montgomery ‘I’ve grown accustomed to her face’, from My Fair Lady. Saves me replying to folks. 😄
Damn Lemmo you're versatile! Total respect!
Just beautiful. Thanks for the music....
Can I add one thing? This is not a guitar it is finely crafted art!
😮. Please let me win the lottery. That guitar, (and playing, of course), straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Kudos to Michael for the sweet tunes - what a beauty of a guitar!!!
Thanks, once again Michael 🙂
What a sound on the gem of an instrument... Lemmo you really are a great player my friend 🤘
What a sweet tone! And that playing too :-)
Great appropriate playing for that great guitar 🔥
Godamn what a great guitar and guitarist too!
You just keep getting better, dude!
Just heard the new single! Good job Michael
Such a Beaut of a guitar! Love the sounds of a D'Angelico as well as vintage ones! However! Gotta do a Maton!
As beautiful as the wood and everything is, I feel like the headstock might be the coolest part of that guitar (aesthetically). It also sounds really great. The more I see these archtops on good GOTD, the more I like the idea of that type of guitar.
What songs was lemmo doing in this video great sounding guitar great playing
Hey somebody just told me that today is the birthday of the Flying V! It was introduced on January 6 1958! Happy birthday to the hardest guitar to play sitting down.
Lemmo knocks me out daily.
I own it’s twin blonde 1937 Excel. Impeccable instruments built by the Stradivarius of Archtop guitar..
I like it when Norm does the intro....no wooo-woooos at the beginning
What a lovely thing, nothing more to say.
Garcia loved his
Jerry ? played a D'A ? that's pretty cool to know...
Its Thumping Thursday at Norms Archtop Guitars
Whats that second song man that was cool
NICE!!!
Amazing guitar. Is the fretboard made of ebony?
Lemmo, you have no idea how much I missed you.
Wow, great demo!
What’s the last song ?
Lovely

#3.51 what is name this piece?
Michael Lemmo you’re a god
That’s crispy green‘ hell. 😜🌽🔥🔥
what is the first song he played?, sounds really familiar to my ears! but i cant tell what it isss please helpp
Wow
It’s Jazz Week at NRG
What strings are on this one?
I like when the looper cant be used.
I know it but can't place it, what is the first melody/song called?
Should have Jonathan Stout come in and give that a try with a 30’s/40’s tune.
I WANT
Does anyone know the name of the tune at 3.35?
I also need the name of the last song :) Anyone?
How much $$ is that GEM of a jazzbox?
What are those songs???
Last tunes title ?
Dang that first tune was beautiful, anybody know what it’s called?
The intro is from Wes Montgomery’s take on ‘I’ve grown accustomed to her face’, he just improvised over it.
Where is Jonathon Stout?
Hmmm. It would be great to hear some “period correct” music come out of this guy.
Sure, but I actually liked how this makes music you normally hear on flattops sound so much nicer (IMHO)!
Michael get the band in showcases song and showcase all the guitars I playing La Cienega at norms great song
OK this is a cool guitar but WHY ISN'T JONATHAN STOUT DEMOING IT.
No truss rod cover ?
Something that looks like a truss rod coming out of the headstock?
Please explain...
Decorative finial - a D’Angelico signature. Not a truss rod!
I don't think John D'Angelico did an adjustable truss rod before the 1950s, at least not as a standard.
What was the first song he played?
Wes Montgomery intro to ‘I’ve grown accustomed to her face’.
@@wungabunga awesome thanks 👍
What a great guitar player and a great musician too !!
Since Mark is gone I miss completely the informative part of guitar of the day videos. C'mon guys a bit of storytelling! It's cool when u can learn something and not just listen how the guitar sounds ;)
i've heard these are super sweet and juicy to play
i think this is from before they made modern brooms
I think this guitar would have had Grover statite tuners, not the imperials.
Django Lemo ?👀
I thought all local radios are corporate shills for the pop music people.
EBow VS Godzilla now playing at a bar near you ? lol
frets are worn down, prolly 25 thous, time for new frets. & the bridge top is NOT even compensated. one would think that the thing would be set up to play in tune with compensation at bridge and nut
Meh
What a guitar!
Anyone know the same of the first song?
