I am so excited when I see your tutorials I can't wait to watch them that's why it drives me insane to wait for 9 and a half minutes for any context. Please don't take it wrong your a great dude and im obviously impatient.
LOL! Noted! All feedback is good feedback. I was actually thinking that while I was editing, so I'm glad you said something. Ill try and get to the point faster so there isnt as much chaff. I bet the part where I cut to me with the grabby arm thing was SUPER frustrating!
@@isaacpriorart welll they are very handy. It's not easy to put out a video I had to remind myself of that. You are obviously a good dude and I appreciate the time you do take because there really isn't much else if you like drawing like this...which I do. I just can't wait until those fluid shapes become natural. Rather than the same type of lines.over and over
I'm really glad you like this style of artwork too! It does take a while to record, edit, and post a video, and I appreciate you acknowledging that. I'll still keep it in mind to cut to the chase a little faster. I'll also add "making things look natural" to my list of things to cover in future videos. I have some tips there too. Thank you for all your feedback! It means a lot.
Another element of smooth, confident, lines - especially as things scale up, is having a real time, intuitive, understanding of exactly where the pen is and where it NEEDS to go. Even in abstract work, thinking of single line points - or complete shapes - in perspective with each other allows math to guide you. Isaac, I think I see you doing the visual math when you’re planning a line path or curve. When you draw, are you focused on the shape of the negative space you’re creating - or do you focus on the end point? Or both? And Isaac, your work is beautiful!🔥 I do a lot of automatic / abstract sketches; and your ideas pushed me through a plateau. I appreciate you!🙏🏽
You are so very right! Being mindful of where you begin and end is very important. I mostly look at the end point, but along the way I look at the positive space I've created with each line. I can better understand how to create balance that way. This is a very good topic, and one that I should flesh out into a whole video. Ive added it to my spreadsheet of content to create. Thank you! It makes me so very happy to know that my artwork can inspire and that my work can be looked up to.
@@isaacpriorart the sense of balance in your pieces is A-1! I think it probably jumps out at the many of us who struggle to build it in, in real-time. Looking forward to all of your spreadsheet items🙂. Cheers!
Thank you! That is one hell of a complement! I have so many on my list, and more pop up all the time! I look forward to more of your comments, thank you again!
Love cat cam!! Thank you so much. That was extremely helpful to see your whole set up and how you use your arm and the bonus is how you fixed what you didn’t like as that is been my learning curve on how you make it look like a “turn” or variation in the wave. Very much appreciate the time you took to do this! If you ever have time, it would be great to know what amount of pressure you put on the pen to paper
I'm glad you like cat cam! I almost always have A cat in the room with me while I'm drawing, so its nice to get them involved with my antics. I would like to do more videos of me just drawing and talking about what I'm doing while I'm in it, so I can get feedback and see what I need to expand on. I'm glad that I could answer questions by accident. Pressure on paper! I will add it to the spreadsheet of content to post on here! That is a good thing to talk about! I have lots to say about that. Thank you for the topic!
Thank you so much, got my first shapes out on the paper. I watched several videos and especially liked when you talk about accepting the art in a way it turns out. I hope we see more tutorials in the future.
You are so welcome! I'm very happy that this helped you experiment and understand the style a little more. Its a hard thing to be able to accept the art the way it is, it takes time. I will make more tutorials for sure! There is so much to say about this style.
Thank you so much for sharing your creative techniques ❤practice makes perfect and in the meantime as you are learning, embrace the shakes. I call them organic looking lines or lines that are one drink over the limit. The important thing is to have fun! So glad I found your channel. You are fun!
Those are both perfect descriptions of the lines! Enjoyment is the MOST important thing with all of this, you are so very right. I'm very happy you found my channel as well! Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! I've gotten some new equipment that is making things a little easier to record stuff. I'm glad that seeing the cats are a bonus too!
I love your videos! I just found your channel yesterday and have already watched everything you’ve created. I find your voice and style so calming and encouraging. And the tutorials are fabulous. And my cat Maya was talking back the whole time. 😊 Thank you for making these!
Thank you! I'm honored you enjoy my content. I want to give off a little bit of a Bob Ross vibe, so thank you for mentioning me being calming. LOL! Cats are the best, I'm glad another cat person has found me. You are very welcome, Ill continue to make more tutorials.
Let me start out by telling you how much love cats!❤ That you have not one but TWO Tuxedo cats, with one sitting in your lap WHILE drawing is just so good. Back to this video. I did NOT KNOW that I'm a "wrist artist"!! I've NEVER been able to why draw parallel lines.. EVER!!! No matter how slowly I'd go or what way I positioned my canvas, it never changed! Now I know why!! It was ME not being in the right position! I've never stood up to draw! But when I did, my lines stayed very close to eachother! That's never happened before! I was able to draw paralleled lines that were actually parallel!! (I don't think I'll EVER be able to create what you have but it's a huge improvement!! Oh my GAWD!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA. How huge is this for me. You said it yourself, that you were "drawing millions of small things." So was I! "Millions" is no exaggeration! I see SOOOO many artists standing at their elevated tables but I never connected the dots until right now!! They were standing to make big drawings and BIG shapes. NOW i know what to save my money for. An adjustable drawing table. I work with engineers who do technical drawings and THEY ARE ALL STANDING and..they can change the height of their table. They are readily awesome and I bet they're not cheap. Oh well! I don't care. Thank you Issac. Thank you a million times. One for each of my "Million small drawings" ❤
LOL! Cats are pretty much my life, since I have four of the beasts! There is almost always at least one cat with me at all times, they follow me wherever I go in the house. Amazing! I'm so glad that I could help with that "ah-ha!" moment. The wrist motion doesn't lend itself very easily to being able to draw parallel lines very easily, and even a heartbeat, or a deep breath can change the hand movement a lot. Getting out of that hunched and tense position is a big game changer as well as helping to keep relaxed and not stressed while creating. A good drafting table can go miles for an artist, and I hope you do get one in the future. You are so welcome, for every one of those million small drawings!
Im glad the technique helps! Only one of my cats really likes to sit in my lap, the other three are very choosy about when they want attention like that. I love them all the same, they show me love in their own special ways. It warms my heart
Thank you! I'm almost finished with it, and the title of the piece as well as the feelings/thought behind it is: Stability and stagnation in confined spaces. Chaos and freedom in open air.
Do you have links and recommendations for pens with dark black solid lines? I mostly work with mixed media (acrylic paint, watercolor, and calligraphy inks). I would love to see a product review video. Thank you in advance for your time and advice.
Yes I do! I have been using these for a while and I really enjoy them Molotow Blackliner water-based black pens: www.jerrysartarama.com/molotow-blackliner-pens I use a lot of different brands of pens, and Molotow has some fun options. They have paint markers, fine point pens, and metallic markers as well. Ive done a review on three brands that I like. I would love to find a pen that does everything that I want, but Im not sure it exists. The closest thing I've found is Toms Studio, Lumos refillable pen. Its just very expensive. Ill add a link to my pen review, as well to Tom's Studio pen: ruclips.net/video/OAizueaUhCE/видео.htmlsi=320JDvhHFPsXy7v5 tomsstudio.com/products/lumos
Thanks agent for you videos l practice even day. I keep coming back to this style of art and use your drawing s as reference everything . He what are the drawings on your intro page with your logo. And also do you use the iPad and a drawing so as well as pen/paper?
Thank you! I'm glad you can use my artwork as inspiration. The drawings on my intro are pieces that I created 6 years ago. I have been meaning to switch those to newer pieces for a while. I haven't tried drawings on a tablet yet. I don't know if I would be any good at it right away. I enjoy pen and paper so much that It would be difficult. Do you use an IPad for your drawings?
Thanks! I find that it is easier to draw on a slanted surface. Its easier on the neck and shoulders as well. I have a drafting table that can adjust the angle that its at, but I know there are some desktop versions of a drawing pad that has that ability too.
this method of using several cameras is helping me tremendously. Thank you
Amazing! I was hoping it would be useful to have different angles. Thank you for your feedback😁

Thank you! Ginkgo thanks you too. He's the real mastermind behind all of this.
Thank you for demonstrating this technique. My art will not wear me out so quickly now. Practice, practice!!!!
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help, line art is a very wrist heavy style.
EXCELLENT tutorial!!! Such a delightful personality too!! TYFS!!
Thank you! I felt a bit more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera this time, I'm glad you noticed that!

You are very welcome! And thank YOU! Without people like you enjoying and watching my content I wouldnt go very far. It means a lot, thank you.

I found making lines is the easy part but making it look like art is the challenge. So much fun though going through paper like it grows on trees.
Takes time to get to know what tickles the brain just right to make it look like fine art. Keep blasting through that paper! you'll get there!
