Thank you! I always feel like my thoughts are so all over the place that when I do sit down and try and teach something its too scattered to make sense of it. You have boosted my confidence!
@@isaacpriorart Nope…not at all!! You are very clear! And although I may compliment you a lot…I do not compliment everyone or everything! I promise that I don’t blow smoke so to speak. Happy New Year too btw!!
I am using your how-to, to loosen up when i get short on creativity. It is a great process and has wonderful results. I also ZenTangle, and would like to enlighten you on what it is. The Zen part is just what you do. Relax and just let it flow. It is a mindless time suspending activity that lets out the hidden creative artist that hides in everyone. The tangle part is to add anything that could mean anything. A 'tangle' of different doodle designs. Or a repetitive pattern of short lines straight or flowing that makes a whole picture. There are hundreds of straight lined patterns that are not at all 'flowery'. I have incorporated your flowing lines into a couple of my favorites. Thank you !!!
What a brilliant description for it! Thank you. I think I have had some negative feelings towards ZenTangle due to some rather rude comments that I received years ago. I appreciate you giving me a different point of view to see it from, and to be able to grow from it. I'll add "updating my ZenTangle views" to my spreadsheet of content to create. I'm so very happy you have been able to use my videos to be able to loosen up! I appreciate you sharing that with me. Being able to inspire or help other creatives out there find passion is such a fantastic feeling. Thank you.
Thank you so much for a tutorial that is actually a tutorial with a talk through and not just a video with music and in fast speed. This is great! Can't wait to listen the whole video and all of your others.
I'm honored that it helped! There is definitely a time and place to put a time-lapse video up, but to actually learn about it is extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to comment and I hope you enjoy the rest of my channel.
This was very well done. Articulate and well paced. Good job- i like this style so much. It reminds me of like, Ether /smoke/liquid smooth..i dont know. I just like it 😊
I agree with you 100% so many people have commented and have educated me on what zentangle is/can be! I have been meaning to talk about my hot take on zentangle and how I've changed my view.
Zentangle is a specific way of mark making, their ethos being “anything is possible, one line at a time”. Only four basic lines or marks are used, with variations of each: a straight line, a c shape (which can be mirrored to form an s shape or wave), a circle (which can be an oval), and a dot. These marks form a number of registered tangles or patterns which can be combined into Zentangle inspired art or ZIA. The patterns are usually done on a 3” x 3” square of heavy paper similar to watercolour paper, called a tile. There is (or shouldn’t be) no randomness. Every mark should be one of the 4 mentioned and done with forethought, in a slow, relaxed manner. Too many people call what they do Zentangle when it is line drawing or even doodling. Very different
I am being enlightened on ZenTangle! Thank you! I knew almost nothing about ZenTangle and I have been taught many things by quite a few people. I appreciate the information. I need to educate myself in the style more, I think there is a lot I could learn from it, and implement into my own work.
I teared up watching this video😭 its verrrryyy helpful i love it and its so encouraging watching this! I have always enjoyed abstract art lines , waves kinda flowy patterns but i never knew what its called and if its a thing! i have been finding abstract line art artists and thought what they do exactly is the right thing because when i show my family/ friends what i draw the first question ALWAYS what is this haha what are you trying to tell what is the title bla bla , most of the time i go with the flow of my feelings and my hand and when in done sometimes i see a shape and i like it sometimes no but i still love it! i wanna know do we need to have a story to the drawing, having my artwork in an art gallery have been a dream and i really dont know if what i do would be liked in an art gallery 😅
For some reason I don't always get RUclips notifications, I apologize I didn't see this sooner! I'm overjoyed that my content has helped you! It sucks that is the first response that people have towards your work. It doesn't always have to be about the message behind the piece, it can just be an expression of creativity to look nice in the end. I have been working figuring out what drives me to create recently and I have an idea, but its not 100% clear. I have a couple of solo shows this year (2024). I personally don't believe that there needs to be a story. I use my artwork as a way to reflect on my thoughts and feelings, so sometimes just naming a piece after the emotion being felt while creating it is enough meaning. I hope that helps.
Line art. This guy seems not to know that the subject has a history that began about 500 years ago. It was called engraving. He should start from there.
Just 500 years!? If we want to get real technical, it could be stated that Neolithic cave paintings or carvings could classify as line art. I appreciate you pointing this out, in the future I will address that line art is a very broad spectrum and many things can classify as such.
This video came up in my YT feed at just the right time. It was very helpful to me. All of it🥰 it just made so much sense to me. While i do enjoy making some zentangle I really enjoy just line art and Line and Wash. Thanks for sharing! While not having ADHD I can be somewhat OCD about my art😂 Susan in Az❤️🏜️
Heck yeah! I'm so happy that YT is pushing my content a little more. I'm glad the info made sense and helped you! Being OCD about what you create isnt a bad thing at all, just means you have vision and drive. Keep on fabricating new pieces!
I think you are a better teacher than you realize!! You have brought up points that never occurred to me!!
Thank you! I always feel like my thoughts are so all over the place that when I do sit down and try and teach something its too scattered to make sense of it. You have boosted my confidence!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on starting line art
You are welcome! And thank you for enjoying it! There is so much to talk about with the style, and artwork in general.

Thank you on all accounts! I'm glad you enjoyed my process! Your interpretation is wonderful too. That's the feeling I wanted to give.
You underrate Zentangle. It's line work and so much more.

@@isaacpriorart conversely I am learning so much from you! I could watch you all day.
Thank you! Thats very kind! Sometime soon Ill have more time to be able to make more content, so maybe in the future you can! lol!

Im glad i found your channel.
I'm glad you did too! Thank you so much for enjoying my content!
Really interesting. I wonder if you can use acrylic gouache and layer it in dimensional lie artwork… hmm…
That sounds like a really fun experiment! I'm sure the outcome would be an interesting one!
Back years ago, when I did it...... I called it echo art. The echoes of the lines.
Echo art, I like that! Thank you for commenting that.
Awesome instruction! Thank you!
You're welcome! Was the information useful?
太漂亮了❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
