I rented one and was pleasantly surprised. Good power, good ride, decent handling, good construction, and the driver seat sits fantastic. I would buy one.
I LIKE the exterior design of the Dodge Journey & consider them to be 21st century STATION WAGONS. Lots of 'bang for your buck' with this mid-size SUV ! Drive it sanely, maintain it properly, & it will be a reliable vehicle for you & your family.
My mom owns a 2016 Dodge Journey SXT. The seats are comfortable and the suspension smooth. It has plenty of space. My favorite features are the: illuminated cup holders, door puddle lamps and floor bins that can be coolers for drinks. She has had no problems with it. It looks and feel solid. Gas mileage is good for it's size. We live 20 miles on the outskirts of a major city. She is happy with her Journey. Chrysler is trying they just need to fix their image.
This vehicle always appealed to me, because it's a bit of everything, minivan/wagon looking, with AWD could be also considered an SUV...also I think there's a performance model with some extra power...oh...now I got to go back to Day 47 see if I watched it... this was a great video... Hi Mom!!
Good review! Actually, I like the look of the Dodge Journey very much. I'm kind of glad Chrysler didn't change the exterior styling in 9 years. I also like the Ford Edge look maybe just a wee bit better. But the Edge has undergone major style changes in its 14 or 15 year history. And did NOT look as good as it does now for several years after it first appeared. I am about to buy an immaculately kept 2016 Dodge Journey Crossroad with 46,000 miles. One owner. Show-room new in perfect condition with no engine, trans or electrical problems. $14,200 --- which is way more than he originally payed for it. He is buying an Escalade. He loved the Dodge Journey and so did his wife but he is 6' 5" 330 lbs and the mid-size was just not comfortable for his large size, so he is going with the roomier vehicle. Handles pretty good at high speeds too --- for an SUV.
Thinking of getting one of these 2015 bout 50k miles...I see alot of bad reviews, but I still want one love the body & can't beat the price and the 3rd row for my kids...still thinking....🤦♂️🙏🙏this or Durango
I fully agree. The 4 cylinder isn't a problem, but why only have a 4 speed. The V6 gets the exact same Gas Mileage as the 4 cylinder as a result. I'm going to be buying my wife this as a kid hauler, and I am going to go with the V6. Why not get 110 more hp with the same MPG?
My mom bought a 2017 journey and we haven’t had it a month and it has been at the dealership for 2 weeks now, it says key not detected when you try to start it and the dealer can’t figure it out. My mom just bought the rental van, a 2017 GrandCaravan but only got $14,000 for the Journey and she paid $16,000 for it. Kinda disappointed but it is what it is...
Dealerships near me are selling these brand new for $18,500. Who cares about the latest styling and technology if they can keep the price down by selling these. I hate to spend thousands more for something just to get from point A to point B
So ive decided on getting a used dodge journey. For my price range it makes the most sense. My question is whether I should wait for the release of the new 2020 redesign Dodge journeys. Will that drop the price of the used Dodge journeys even more or should I go ahead and purchase one today?
Got look today. Ask for the BEST price. Leave them your number if they won’t meet you where you want to be. As the clock ticks they just may call with a better offer.
@@averageguytested rented one. 2014 model. I am 6, 2". To my surprise, I could actually sit more comfortably in a Nissan Rogue rear seat than Journey's. I don't know alot about seat designing, but there is something definitely not right about how they designed this vehicle's 2nd row seats. I mean you tell me, how can a full 5 inches overall shorter Kia Sorento has more leg room in both front and rear 2nd and 3rd row seats.? And to make the situation worse, Sorento has almost equal cargo room. How? This car definitely needs a complete redesign or I don't think it can sell in the after-after market. Even for its cheaper, this vehicle has got nothing against the current champions, Highlander and Pilot. And that 3 row bigger 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL is just around the corner.
@@silentrefusal9911 You feel a vehicle that costs over 70% more outshines the less expensive vehicle. Hmm. I feel I could go on some fun vacations or buy a second car with the 24,000 dollar difference in price between these vehicles.
I had one handed to me this morning as a rental, even though I had asked for a sedan. The seat is uncomfortable, but it has hella headroom; it looks as boring and innocuous as a Celine Dion concert, but heck, it gets up and goes surprisingly well (SXT AWD V6). The third row is useless but I love the way the doors open to almost a 90-degree angle. the rear seat will smash a carton of eggs if you aren't ready or expecting the seat back to launch forward like a mousetrap (I always put my eggs on the floorboard anyway - milk and orange juice, not so much). Decent sound system, but it's not my old SRT Charger. Would I buy this vehicle? Negative. Would I lease this vehicle? perchance, if I opted for the decked out version...in blue. Thank you for your review!
I can't imagine either of those competitors having more leg room, especially in regards to the Santa Fe (which is smaller than a Journey). People do not buy these for regular use of a third row, they are great in a pinch though. If that is a must for you, try the Caravan or a larger (more expensive) Durango.
I love the old school mean look and interior. Only things I would change would be to add an auto lift gate, panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, led/hid head lights, and last but not least wiper defrost. I tested a lot of crossovers and SUVs and I really loved the Dodge Journey, I ended up buying a 2014 journey rt rally with all the extras and I’m very happy with my choice. I use to have a 2011Hyundai Tucson gls and I feel like I’m driving a high end car compared to the Tucson lol. I do miss the wiper defrost a lot though lol. Oh and the back seat DVD player is not HD in the Journey.
I rented one and was pleasantly surprised. Good power, good ride, decent handling, good construction, and the driver seat sits fantastic. I would buy one.
+I agree. DAVID SMITH
I rented one last week and thought the same! Was pleasantly suprised
I have a baby on the way and three dogs and my m3 isn’t cutting it so I think I’m gonna have to get one. Keeping the m3 tho
I’d keep the M3 too! Thanks for watching 👋🏽
just copped one of these for 19k
Nice!
Love how you treat your mother
Thanks.
thumbs up for mom she was great
Thank you! My mom is awesome!

The third row is for kids only, not adults. Lol

I have the 2015 Dodge journey sxt awd v6 and I have no problem with the take off speed for its weight, it also handles great in rain and snow

I have the 2017 Journey which I bought used - SXT and it is great. Got a great deal. Got it for the pets
Great video with Mama. My sister drives one of these with her brood and they road trip it all of the time.
+much better than I expected 👍🏽Drax68

+nice👍🏽 enjoy the ride! Nick Durkin
How do you like it now?
Have the RT...love it! Perfect for my family and my needs.

I love the Durango. Same year?
@theMediaMart yes , or maybe a 2018 journey with less miles, what's a price like to fill the tank?
The reason you don't want to get the 4-cylinder engine is because it's paired to a 4-speed automatic, versus the V6, which has a 6-speed auto
And because it's a 4 cylinder 😉+YouDontWannaFightMe

The 3rd row is just for kiddies or doggies, adults should not attempt entry.
+agreed no siesta in the back of the journey pedro fernandez
I just wonder if it's worth the extra money to get the 3dr row and instead get something else with a little more useful space back there
+you're right. Did you see my day 47 video? pedro fernandez
yes, of course.
+we have good angles pedro fernandez
This is a 2017? Why did they not put the new steering wheel design that they came out with in 2014? Never understand some of the designing

Have one going for $13,800 by me, that's why I'm here lol
Dodge always did ride smooth. No answer, though, on 4 cyl engine life w compar high rpm?
4 cyl isnt sluggish sis n law got a brand new one today WOW im ready to trade my mid size sedan in for one

That 2nd row seat is anything but spacious for a car this size. Doesn't qualify as a long way cruiser for a tall person at all.
Do you own one or have you just rented it?
