This was a proudest day of my life. I never felt so wonderful ever again. I was 17 years old and 3 weeks. I went to boot camp I thought it knew everything I didn't know anything. I can't believe I passed and graduated. So many things that I was able to overcome. My dad showed up we had no communication with the outside world. No phone calls. we got letters that's it. We were never allowed to call home. I never forget it and I'll always cherish that memory. I was so proud and I was in the best shit in my life and I felt wonderful. 🇺🇲✝️🙏

The greatest day in my life at least one of them is when I graduated from Parris Island when I was 17 years old I was very proud of myself for being able to overcome obstacles and fear. I can't imagine today 17 year old going through that. I just can't the change me forever and I really grew up in the Marine Corps I did two tours but I got hurt and had to be retired but I was very proud to be a member of the United States Marine Corps and that's for sure. A huge congratulations to all those brave men and women passing out (graduation) I remember mine in 1986 (British army) it's a special day and a proud day. It's great to see our brave cousins across the pond earning the right to be called marines. It's no easy feat. I once remember and celebrates British brigadier commenting on how fantastic the USMC were whilst working together in desert storm 1. Nothing but 100 percent admiration on how these marines conducted themselves. How they wanted to learn and how.much they showed an interest in the bigger picture. Brave men and women who can always be proud.

There are levels within but even the most die hard manage to adjust just enough to life after in order to function. Do civilians do things different? Sure they do, a store that reads opening at 9 and opens at 905 pisses you, having been waiting there since 845 lol. To answer your question, the Corps today has changed a ton and Im not up to date on dress standards but I can say those D.I.s marching with arm swings of 2 feet to the front and same to the rear is Fn unsat! And its Atttennn TION now huh....

Certainly not the corps of years ago. I was in 87-94. We had a cat in our platoon, 2nd Battalion, F-Company at PI that refused to follow orders.....a regular smart ass. During snap in week at the range he started some crap with one of our DI's. Our 4 DI's took him back to the range barracks we were berthed in. Some time passed and they all came back. However, said recruit was walking a slower, slightly hunched over, head down. We all new there was some "attitude adjustment" given and rightfully so. There was never a problem with him after that. Turned out to be a squared away Marine. Nobody ever challenged him in prior civilian life...Uncle Sam=our DI's saw if differently. Semper Fi to all D-Dogs here!! It is an honor!!!

@@robmbk3514 stay of the radar. Move as fast as you can. Sound off as loud as possible. Pay attention to close order drill commands. Take the rifle range seriously. Study the big green book. Have integrity and you should be ok. Bootcamp is a quarter of being a fleet Marine. Get ready for the next 4 years of your life.

I graduated in 1985 my father was a retired Marine and both my brothers also went in the Marines. I guess u could say we were family of Marines. I loved the Marine Corps and still do. It was some of the best days of my life.

@@jimmypittsburgh2914 After school I went straight to the rock or Okinawa. I went to moving target simulator school in Korea and deployed in the Philippines while I was stationed in Okinawa. I reuped for 6 years with a bonus and 3 years later got injured fast roping out of a CH46 while in the med aboard the USS NASSAU. I got out on a medical and now on disability.
