Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

4:41 most civil aviation aircraft are built with the center of lift behind the center of mass, causing a slight pitch down. this is then corrected with the horizontal stabilisers built at a negative AoA to push the plane's nose up, resulting in stable flight. (these are adjusted via the pitch trim, changing the AoA on the leading edge of the stabiliser. this lets the pilots and autopilot to set the behaviour of the plane.) i'm not sure how easily this is to replicate in trailmakers, but you might want to use this to make a more stable and easier to fly plane in the future.

I think you should take this type of challenge to its logical extreme. That is to say: land a car in or on a plane, and then land that plane on a boat. This would require a third person, obviously.

Multiplayer: A dogfight with planes, but you can only use sails for wings.
Idea: Vehicle battle.
Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit).
Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon?
Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back.
Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water.
I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.
Land a plane inside a plane, that is landing inside a bigger cargo plane... but in scrap mechanic?
I think that is just a huge laggy mess...

Here's an idea, 3 of you make planes that chase someone in a car, and the planes are loaded with explosives, and the wings detach from the plane to turn into a missile-like thing! You try to hit the car before they hit you with some kind of air defense. The 3 planes would be VERY vulnerable because of the explosives, which is why there are 3!

I would have tried to build a retractable "tongue". So a kind of runway, where the plane can land and then get pulled into the big plane.
The sounds the make sometimes ahahah without context or whatching would be strange ahahahah 17:48 is when the best sounds start and the "i'm in" ahahah love it

at some point trailblazers is gonna add a fuel mechanic and these 2 are probably gonna have to make a video of a mid air refueling... and weve basicly gone thru pretty much every 2 person based "X thing lands on Y without absolute antihalation"

You are getting SO good at these! Two attempts! Insane!
You should try a space dogfight, basically use mods for zero gravity, and make a space fighter with no blocks from the wing section(to simulate lack of atmosphere). Nighttime is optional, and set a power core and block limit.
I mean you don't need mods anymore

How about trying it the other way: a small plane that gets "eaten" by a larger plane as the big plane overtakes it?

can you do a 2v2 version of this? one person builds the cargo plane and the other builds the little planes, whoever lands on the cargo plane faster, wins
Yzuei's plane reminds me of one of those parasite fighters the US airforce experimented with at one point.
Scrapman i would like to see a 1v1v1v1 dogfight where everyone builds a plane and you randomly chose who gets whos plane you can get your own if you are lucky the creator also gets to chose the camera angel you have to use this can be a camera block.
new challenge idea get a mini plane and land it in a submarine carrier and make the carrier jump into a cargo plane
That small plane should have been a crop duster a'la GTAV.
A good challenge is that you try and land a plane on a moving sub and then submerge the sub all in one go.
Please get the complexity mods for these builds... it would be so cool.
he does have complexity mods but going over the limit can really lag the game especially on multiplayer

Do a battle/dogfight but every control must come from a logic gate so all vehicles have a big chunk of logic blocks

Idea use speed sensors to turn off engines if it faster than speed. You need use it in big and small planes for identic speed
Idea: 2v2 PvP (or preferably 3v3) where each team has an airborne aircraft carrier and attached/carried fighters. First team to destroy the other's carrier and successfully reattach/re-enter their own carrier wins the point for that round.

Idea: Stopping a bullet. We know projectiles are effected by velocity from the stopping a rocket vid, and bullets fire from a tiny cannon/smart cannon/mini gun are also projectiles. HOWEVER: Bullet projectiles are not effected by gravity like rockets or cannons are. So is it possible to make a bullet super slow, or even stop mid air?
It would bereally cool to make a Shield style Helicarrier and try to land on that, but that would probably require increasing the complexity limit.

Realy funny idee: Catch a bigger plane on a small plane or a car on a plane mid air
Suggestion: Assemble all your friends to make a Voltron style build with magnetic attachment.

you should do a challenge where you make 1st person builds, as in you can walk inside them in 1st person cam and also fly or drive them in 1st person
If you make the cargo plane stubbier than it would almost be the ducktails plane
Trailmakers version of GTA V mission Minor Turbulence.
Create a vehicle (Land, Sea, or Air) and make it something that can tile. Then see how many tiles you can attach while moving.

I just watched a video on a Russian airborne aircraft carrier that they used in WWII. It was a very interesting design.

Have a big cargo plane or carrier drop of a helicopter and use the helicopter to pick up a small scout vehicle or tank and deliver the tank to the aircraft carrier

you should do this challenge but reverse, the bigger plane has to catch the smaller plane by flying into it. The bigger plane would have a giant mouth of a cargo door in the front and it would pretty much eat the smaller plane by flying into it.

Repeat this, but put the cargo plane into a freefall. So the jet has to dive down into the cargo plane, the cargo plane has to close up, power on, and pull up before they hit the ground. The kind of "action hero" skydive version of this. Like at the beginning of GoldenEye except there's two people controlling different things and there isn't a dam about to blow up behind you.
Also, repeat this with a cargo jet with a similar cargo loading format as the C-5 Galaxy (nose lifts and tail opening for fast loading and have the cargo plane be the one to catch the jet from the air. In otherwords it's a kind of reverse challenge. The jet has to be small enough to fit inside but also has to fly straight while the cargo plane has to be able to open front and back and catch up to the jet.
Shoul do flying fortress battles.
You should try making a car carrier plane that flies low to the ground and then opens up from the bottom and the car drops out
a small magnet on small plane facing down is good for landing on other crafts
whenever i see this, my mind thought about u making a extending piston grabber which would grab his plane and then retract into the cargo plane

That might be better in Scrap Mechanic. Trailmakers vehicles tend to be too fragile to handle leaping super well, unless they fairly really light (which makes for a bad tank). It would still be cool to see him try either way though.
what if one of you made a rocket and the other had to make something to catch you on the decent
You should do a large plane (2000kg+) dogfight battle.
You should do a video where you have to land on a plane or in a plane or something but going the speed of sound or breaking the sound barrier

Video idea: a coop race, so 2 vs. 2, that starts on the land runway, one person in a submersible car and the other in a plane, the team has to put the vehicle into the cargo bay of the plane and then fly to the aircraft carrier, land there, drop the car that will drive to de lower haft of the carrier than jump on the water, race back to land and back to the runway where all started and get back into the plane, first team airborne wins.

My idea is a plane that is in two parts on top of some cars and you have to put it together.
I wonder if you put tractor beams in the front of the cargo bay (near the cockpit) then it would be able to both keep the plane inside the bay and be able to push it out?
Video idea: a plane that u control only the right side and a different person controls the left side
