Excellent update, so much change since my visit. The forklift truck looks fantastic in PX green. Don’t forget to brand it. You should hold a competition to name it. I’ll start with Geoff Capes. A Lincolnshire Imp who lifts heavy things.
Another most important and interesting podcast James, I won’t be attending your open day, though I did go through farming college (the same one as you!) I actually spent my life driving trucks around Europe and beyond, but I still live and love the countryside and all it contains. Thanks. 👍🇬🇧
Well done James on getting the open day booked in, totally agree on charging for the open day only fair that people show some commitment to ensure all the booked places are used. How many tonnes of wheat is going through the cleaner/ drier while running 24hrs a day. Your shed of dreams and the surrounding yard will be one big pour of concrete, have you considered using fibres in the concrete and not weld mesh.?
Great video James and keeping old part off machines is a standard thing because, they might just come in useful and a great watch and i hope the open day goes fantastic,it’s just a bit far to travel and with what’s going on 👍👍
I am chuffed that preparation for your open day is underway; regrettably I can’t make it this year as I’ll be working to keep fuel stocks topped up at fuel stations on our patch. Looking forward to seeing the coverage of the event though.
Another entertaining and informative video. Regarding the missed Defra grant payment, most smaller medium-sized farms inparticar live stock farms would of been working most days during Christmas New Year, therefore around to deal with the Defra call! One up to the smaller farm.
James does your spray booms have downward light on the nozzles for when you spray at night. I’ve seen when driving about other farmers have downward blue LED lighting so they can see the liquid being sprayed
I love your videos and all the work you put on, you probably already discussed this before, but being a Fendt fan, why you do not use also Fendt Combines? Thank you
Damn government, are a joke! I always thought we could rely on our government, not to act as a third world dictatorship. Thank God we decided not to take them up on the offer to concrete all our yards ( many local associated businesses have missed out as well.) Great video as always, keep up the positive work
The RPA have lost all their credibility and this sort of behaviour is pathetic. They have made the whole process of dealing with grants so complex, I have friends who have also had grants stopped for spurious reasons. The other thing they tell me is that it is extremely hard to ever speak to them and they are arrogant and rude. One mate, a dairy farmer, had a TB test planned and was checking 500 head. RP contacted me to arrange a site meeting on that morning and he explained it wasn't a good time and asked them not to come. They turned up, he couldn't show them round he was told he was being obstructive. The RPA always seem to blame lack of resources and people, maybe its more about the mindset and quality of the people, its simply not how you should behave. Sadly much of the Civil Service seems to have forgotten the key word "Service". On the Open Day will Pete's wheelbarrow be in the Shed of Dreams?
My first job once qualified as a Chartered Survey was with the old "MAFF". Based in Leicester I lasted 3 months. I got too many telling offs for being too keen!! My boss told me to slow down, don't respond to anything for at least 2 to 3 weeks. On your cancelled grant the worrying aspect that someone wrote the rules and thought it was a good idea.
Hi James, I love your videos and watch them all. I would really appreciate it if you go with "crumbs" rather than "Christ" going forward. To a lot of us farmers Jesus is the "the way, the truth and the life" and our Saviour. I will pray that one day He is your Saviour too. Thanks mate
Good to see you are less stressed James, the whole set up is a credit to you and the team
Unfortunately in France on the Open Day, so hope it's a great success and there is another!

❤👍❤👍👌🏻👌🏻
Defra stipulate that I need to send evidence for grant app in 14 days, their email replies state they "aim to respond" to us in 30 days!!!
We get thing is one sided and the law often works to assumptions and presumptions.
What are acts and statutes? Can't be law or They'd be laws.
