In 1973 a young lady of 16 got her dream of seeing Elvis in concert and even getting a kiss from him........That young girl was me. Even now at 63 years old it still lives in my mind as though it was yesterday. Elvis was one of a kind................the very best kind.

My mom and grandma were huge Elvis fans. At 12 I discovered Elvis and fell IN LOVE with Elvis. Now, keep in mind this was 1996. So my grandma and mom took me to Myrtle Beach SC to see an Elvis impersonator. He was amazing not as good as the real thing but as close as I could get in 96. My grandma and mom also bought me a kiss on the cheek from him. I thought I was gonna die. I can only dream what it must have been like to kiss the real Elvis thank you for a great reaction

Best version of Love me Tender is in his black leather in The 68 Comeback. I saw him 3 times, the best was his last New Year’s Eve Show in Pittsburgh 1976....He took the stage around 9pm at midnight he played Auld Lang Syne and probably played for another 45 minutes after midnight....Best show ever...

These shows in Vegas had many women running on table tops to get to him and some
came prepared for anything ( wearing dresses without undergarments)
Sadly as time went on this became the reason he could no longer go out in public
during the day. The minute he was spotted it created a frenzy. He had to do most of
his living at night.
You don't see that anymore where he could walk off the stage while in concert and walk among the fan. He made them feel so special. No wonder they loved him. He loved being close to his fan. It's not like now a days. it was a special time and he liked the closeness he had with his fan and physical contact he was able have He liked it that way. Now they keep you away from the stage.

We had to tip the waiter to get a ringside seat, at least to have a chance for a kiss. But he didn't always come down into the audience like that. You two look just beautiful! I had been in love with him since childhood, so at 15 my grandma took me to see him, and that began a 7-year stint of seeing him in February and August, 4 days and 8 shows each trip! I saw over 100 shows, kissed those lips and have 6 scarves and a teddy bear he gave me while singing "Let me Be your Teddy Bear." I have stories!! Thanks for your comment!

@@jrc8640 ...Yes, I sure was. And I believe and I KNOW you are right about "more handsome in person." Before I saw him the first time I assumed I'd be disappointed...quite the opposite! He wasn't even photogenic, if the truth be known! At the age of 37 (his age when I met him) he looked like early 20s... but it was his facial structure that was the most striking.... hand chiseled by God! Then add to that his voice, of course, then his riveting and charismatic personality, the way he walked, the way he talked...his sense of humor...his humility and love for people.... it all spells Elvis!

Elvis loved his fans and they loved him.he used to let his fans swim in his pool.a reports asked him arnt u afraid when your fsns rip your cloths off .he said they paid for them. In the fifty they ripped his pants off .theres a picture . Thank u so much .

@@kerrypapworth1526 twice in person in I believe 74 and 75 ..in Syracuse .n.y. and Niagara falls.he was coming back to Syracuse before he died. People had already bought tickets .but my husband said I couldnt see him again. The lines were resl long. People stayed all night to get a ticket.

I had saved enough money to buy my first car and I had already decided that if Elvis toured I would spend every cent I had to see him. I often wonder if Colonial Parker had allowed Elvis to take the role in A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand that this would have saved Elvis 😒

It was 1966, and I was 9 almost 10 years old. I was sitting on the curb next to the apartment complex we lived in with my best friend/girlfriend Theresa Youngmark. It was not long after my oldest sister Anola took to with her to a Saturday matinees Movie with Elvis Presly in it. It was a Western of the same name, "Love Me tender, that was made the same year his song came out in 1956. Well, it was 10 years later and thus a Sauturday Morning matineee at the Theater. We got in for .25 cents. Anyway, I sang this song to Theresa about a week or so after I saw the movie, while me and Theresa sat on the curb.
She is also the first girl I ever kissed. Mind you, she kissed me first. We were in the nurses office, both not feeling good. I knew her, but not really friends with her at the time. Back then, then nurse would make us lay on the cot in the nurses office to check us from time to time to see if we really were sick or just pretending. As we lay their across the room from each other we talked about what I cannot remember, but I do remember her getting up, walking across the room and planting a kiss on my lips. Now I had never been kissed before, but I learned real fast that I liked it, and her. We became best friends for about 2 years until we grew apart. She matured, I did not. OH well, the memory is etched in my mind. My first love.

Okay, this calls for a famous Elvis quote, "To Envy someone brings you down, to admire someone lifts you up , so which is better"? As for the audience, you might already know this, but they were mostly entertainers and movie stars and a very controlled audience. He originally did the song in 1956. His first movie was called "Love Me Tender." It really made more sense for it to be called "The Reno Brothers." But because of the popularity of the song it was renamed after the song. Pat Boone said that it was such an intimate sounding song he felt like he was eavesdropping. He did a much better version for his 1968 Comeback Special. The song was a rewrite of the Civil War ballad "Aura Lee." Elvis recorded another version of the song in the late 60s for a movie. The lyrics are different, but the tune was the same. Do any of you Elvis experts know what I'm talking about? It's a quiz question.
