    Love it! You did a great job of breaking down the Camera Tracker - thank you for that!
    FWIW, You can use the arrows in the preview screen to move your objects around and rotate them [there's a toggle button at the top of the preview window for that] - probably with less accuracy, but for wholesale moves, I like it. I don't think I've used the Inspector to do moves like that, LOL.

    I have worked with a couple of apps in the past like AE, blender, UE5 etc.
    When I integrated AE with elements 3D my hands were solved since I could do something “catchy” easily. Some 3D stuff and Matte and done !
    For some reason though I cannot find enough videos for Davinci Resolve covering that topic, and It’s sad since I’m trying to think Davinci as a do it all software without having to export here and there.
    Your video is one of the few doing it. Hope more to come.
    Great Job.

    This is what I was referring when I said AI in the podcast! It doesn’t look as scary as I thought. Great explanation, but fusion is still scary for me 😅 Great job, man. I should try some of this! Thanks

    Plus -- I've watched this three times. great video on the topic.
    I have had a lot of trouble getting videos to solve. There are a few things I wish you'd do. First, I wish you had told us what the "gutter" and "Solve weight" do (Why set Solve weight to zero?).
    Second, A description of what sorts of videos solve well. Third, what sort of features are bad for tracks (some are obvious, but maybe others aren't).
    And I use a gimbal...
    PS -- I just watched the one you put out there too. Thanks!

    Great beginner Tutorial, Jay.
    This morning i had an Issue with my first ever 3D Composition in Fusion.
    Davinci just crashes instantly when the 3D camera moves.
    Is it possible to overload Fusion with too many Nodes?

  • @RalphKohler

    Jay, excellent video. I didn't know I could do this until I found the video. However well jumping out of my 3D airplane the parachute I was looking for is how to use the mouse to control the view in 3D. I haven't found a video covering the detail in nuance of manipulating the 3D environment. Maybe you'll consider putting that in your next video as well.

    • @JayLippman
      @JayLippman  Год назад

      Yeah there’s a couple of videos out there that cover that, but none of them seem to be consistent, and the way mine works is different. I have a feeling that the mouse you have affects how to control that, so I strayed from covering it to avails the inevitable “it’s not working” comments.

    • @RalphKohler
      @RalphKohler Год назад

      @@JayLippman Thanks. I think what I want to know is not "how to use a mouse" but what commands to bind to to control 3D. Having asked it that way, I can probably look it up pretty easily, but I'm surprised I couldn't find the answer on a YT tutorial. In retrospect, it seems like a natural.
      Although I wasn't looking for this video, I spent WAYYYY to much time going through it. First, I appreciate your style of being fast, but very through, and usually calling out what you are doing. That was helpful as I went through it a bunch of times to find the bits I needed and I learned several tricks along the way.
      Once you had my attention and I tried this, my problem, which I didn't see in any video I looked at, was that my points seemed all green, but when I hit "solve", it took hours then failed to converge to a solution or crashed (sometimes at 99 percent). I ended up breaking into to parts and solving each.
      Overall, I've enjoyed spending some time with this video -- thanks!

    How to retime the 3d object with baked animation? For example if I need it to start from the middle of the composition? 2d inputs have in out trim and frameholds. A lot of 3ds are useless without this control...

    I want to learn how to make it look as if I dropped a slightly bent/curled piece of paper onto a desk and then map any image I want onto that paper. Just like they do in the Just Have a Think channel ask the time. I asked, and he does his using Adobe After Effects.

    DaVinci needs to make Fusion layer based like After Effects. It's not only to difficult to learn, for Motion Graphics it's a nightmare. Resolve would be perfect if they had layer based for Fusion and just keep the Fusion node tab for heavy compositing

      @JayLippman  Год назад +2

      That’s true. Industry standard for compositing is Nuke, which is also node based. Node based workflows may not be the quickest or the easiest, but they are way more flexible and require a lot less workarounds than layers

    After effects+ Element 3D is way better than this bro 😔 Way better than this 😢 God knows how much work you have done and how much complicated to do Basic scene in Fusion. It's just a Few clicks in Ae+E3D and we get a best shot. Camera tracking, Lighting, Shadow catcher and Importing Models with Element3D is too Easy.

    • @JayLippman
      @JayLippman  Год назад +3

      It really isn’t that complicated. The whole process is done in a few minutes.
