Also, all those pictures are of the same item. You can tell from the pattern. Why is there a big drama about ONE person getting funny looking blush? She probably left it somewhere hot. One of my lipsticks fell apart the other day. Did I post a rant about Burt's Bees? No, because it was hot and humid out.

I’m not shocked at ALL. I have natural 4c hair and none of this surprises me. Nor does this happening in London surprise me. There is still a LOT of rampant anti-Blackness in the UK and especially towards Black women who do not straighten their hair or wear wigs/weaves. The stylist being Black herself means nothing. She herself has been programmed and TRAINED to only handle hair that has been straightened and her comments confirm this.

I hate to see that this isn't shocking even overseas. I live in an area that 'caters' these types of hairs and even here this situation that occurred is not shocking. The amount of people who feel forced out of their natural hair for 'standards' is upsetting. I think that it should not be this hard for everyone to be treated the same based on their hair. The only positive if u can call it that, hairstyle programs and certification in my state require you to learn about all hair types, but alot of backlash has happened because unless you are paying to be certified you are not legally allowed to do certain hair types.

UK black girlie here, I had no idea that the fenty hair pop up was happening - they hardly advertised it at all, which is very weird because usually brands doing pop ups like to market it as much as possible on their social media, especially its happening in Central London. Secondly, I’ve had a similar situation to the poor girl at college (which I guess you can compare it to sophomore year, not university), I won’t get into details on what happened but when I tell you, I never felt so belittled and ugly in my life especially as a 18 year old, it was traumatising. And I don’t even have 4 type hair, I have naturally curly 3b/3c hair. If you’re not using the correct products on your hair like particularly black owned hair products, even if you have 3 type curls/mixed with a different background then you’re considered as an outcast. You’re not doing the bright undereye UK black girl makeup trend? You’re an outcast. Unfortunately in London, colourism and hatred especially amongst black girls and women particularly towards deep/deep tan and especially dark skinned women is a major issue. But if you go to other places in the UK particularly other cities like Manchester or Birmingham, it’s a different story. But heck, even something like that can still happen ANYWHERE. It’s been like this for quite a long time now. It’s normal when it shouldn’t be allowed to be normal🥲

Also just want to say, you might want to check out the videos about Rich Luxe has made about Golloria on his RUclips, because what he has said about her and even his audience in the comments are absolutely disgusting. Especially about the YSL sh** show He’s practically making her a new target because he’s bored whilst waiting for Mikayla to do something drastic. I wouldn’t use him as a source for a lot of things because he is usually looking for clout or following other lies that haven’t been confirmed or he has made up.

I'm a UK girlie and as I watching I was surprised as you was that the fenty pop up happened I follow fenty and still didn't hear about it. I feel like it wasn't marketed very well. I must say I have 4c hair and I have found some amazing hair stylists in London but not in other places. There are a lot of people who don't know how to do 4c hair I have a deep dark skinned foster daughter and she just read your comment and she does not feel like the colourism is as prevelant as you claim in London we live there and I'm dark but not super dark and I have had some really good experiences buying make up and hair products. I think the problems is people learn at home and open shops and hair schools do not teach about afro hair my friend is a hair dresser and she said that she had to take extra classes to learn about afro hair so the problem is institutional if people are not taught they have to go out of their way at extra expense to learn how to do afro hair.

@@deedeedussard definitely!! I agree!! I guess it’s the same for those who do nails, lash extensions and etc. but I’m just a graphic designer, not a hairdresser 💀 I’m originally from East London but moved to Essex (the yeehaw areas of it) when I was quite young and lived there for a really long time. But since working in central London for over 2 years, especially at my last job, I’ve definitely noticed some interesting stigma around how I was treated as a “deep tan” (to the makeup world when I’m literally shade NC45 or just “dark” to Barry M💀) black girlie. And I will admit, it took me years to teach myself how to figure out my hair and how to tame just in case I have kids. Bless having a mum who used to be a hairdresser and the world of curly hair TikTok! 🩷I don’t let anyone touch my hair whether they’re a hairstylist or not, unless you’re gonna give me tips of what products to use and how to use it from a video standpoint😅

I live in South London and have had some good and bad experiences but more good. I've had people tell me I need to relax my hair ( no way and I couldn't because I was burned at one point and was told explicitly no relaxer for a minimum of 4 years because of the chemicals) but I have also had amazing experiences the whole new thing of going with your hair washed I have never experienced. I've had great products recommended to me that have worked wonders on my hair. I have that hair that the shrinkage is real and so can take a long time to blow dry correctly and I've had people work on my hair and it's looked relaxed by the end of it but with no heat damage. As a former hairdresser, it’s actually EASIER to manage natural hair, we LOVE untreated hair. I’m not a pro at 4c hair, but I have experience in ethnic hair care, and if all this woman was asking for was a wash, blowout , and mechanical straightening, this was such a dream of a service! Yes, you don’t hit the scalp with the straightener, what you use is a hot comb on the roots. (After using a heat protective product).

    • @traetrae11
      @traetrae11 Месяц назад +2

I can definitely get my 4C hair straight with a flat iron, including the roots (I don't even own a hot comb anymore, never liked them). You just have to use the right kind of flat iron (titanium plates), heat protection, don't go crazy with the heat (you can easily cause damage), and work in smaller sections (one pass). It helps if you properly blow dry your very conditioned and freshly cleaned hair properly beforehand because it'll already be mostly straight.

Overtime I’m realizing that I’m not a very picky makeup consumer-I’d use that JC blush no problem (just looks sweaty), I’ve used drugstore makeup that looks like that and lipsticks that have been fully melted and re-solidified in my car. Like come on people! I understand if you want a refund bc it was expensive but it doesn’t look BAD.

Omg I know there's so much more to this video, but the whole "mold" analysis makes me feel so much better about a HUDA palette I got. I thought it was mold and all the other replacements had the same spotting on the cream color. I really love the rest of the colors and made do with them despite not knowing what the spots were. Now I feel a little less guilty about having them on my face regardless 😅 Never had any eye infections as a result of using them, but that adds another level of relief. Strange that so many brands are having issues with developing cream makeup, though.

As someone who works in the collectibles industry, my personal hack for not overindulging is finding joy in doing the unboxing as opposed to what I get! If I only want one or two, I’ll usually try to find someone selling to trading their duplicates online! If it’s more a product I’m just excited about, I will buy one or two to have the experience of having the cute figures! I don’t need all of the collection because I can e excited for what I have! 💕💖 Everyone is different but that’s what I’ve been doing for years now and what I recommend everyone if they’re choosing. If you love the whole collection of something, buying a full case (preferably sealed) should guarantee a full set without dupes!

For anyone that is not familiar with these pallets they are EXCELLENT quality. I have at least five of them that they have done over the years and they are all great. I ordered this one as soon as it launched Thursday. Can’t wait to get it😎♥️
Oh yeah --it is also only $24!!!!

4c American here. The fact that the issue is a skill issue and not a product issue is so unsurprising. My hair is not only very coarse, but it is also very thick. I can't get braids often because braiders often complain and upcharge me over how "hard" my hair is to work with (mostly when going to foreign shops). It got so bad that after being natural and wearing an afro for only 2 years i decided to loc my hair and learn maintance, so i wouldnt have to deal with other people. I cut my locs after two more years with the intention of re-locing soon, but i went through a couple of uears of keeping it boy short and regularly bleached and dyed until i got tired of maintaining color. Now that my hair is an afro again after 4 years i am stressed about having to get my hair done for my baby shower this month and trying to figure out the nost stress-free style thats not a wig (which ive opted for for while having shorter hair, but am uninterested while pregnant) until i am good with the length to loc again....

Great video! As for the question about the review- I think it’s personally a great flow- this episode of “what’s up in makeup” didn’t feel jarring/ or segmented in any way!
Personally I think it’s fun! because it’s more like you’re a consumer of the product: it’s a random Thursday you’re getting ready I grabbed this collection let me do a look (situations may vary) but it feels natural is what I’m tryna say!
Anywho: I have always loved what’s up in makeup and it warms my heart to see you, and catching one is always a highlight of the week. You’re my source of beauty news for sure, proud of you! And love and light❤

As someone with 4C hair, even with the "inclusive" label on the marketing and Fenty catering a lot to a lot of Black people whose needs have been long ignored... I hate to say it, but I wouldn't have even bothered going (this is no hate to those who did, I find them admirable for not being as jaded and bitter as I am haha). I find that often when things are marked as "inclusive for all hair types" they almost never actually mean 4C as well. Theres a pointed disdain even within the black community for what is perceived as "nappy" hair, and unless your hair is relaxed or in a looser curl pattern, I personally feel like we're treated as though we don't matter, our hair is naturally "bad", and we should be thankful if someone who isn't specialized knows how to work with our hair. More often than not, "inclusive" means that MAYBE 3's-4A's are welcome but I just don't have the trust that people in a setting that isn't specified for black hair will be prepared and willing to address natural 4c hair without a) struggling b) possibly making an out of pocket comment about how nappy or dry my hair is c) rejecting me outright because they're unsure what to do. Society tries to reinforce our hair is bad at every turn, it becomes hard to enter a non specialized space without assuming they'll treat and see your hair as "bad" as well.

I am not surprised about the Fenty Hair pop up salon experience. I have 4c hair, and I never go to the salon because you don't know what you will get. I used to go. And, when I would request someone that could do my hair type, I would get a guarantee that the person knew what they were doing but would get a similar experience to Oghosa. One stylist refused to do my hair because it was textured and he didn't do textured hair. He even yelled at the scheduler. And its really tough because I do my own hair and oftentimes struggle. Knowing that professional stylists can't even be bothered is very disheartening. I could go to a salon that specializes in my hair type but it can be very expensive, especially when you're trying to be consistent. I'm glad Fenty Hair reached out, but it's a little too late especially if someone constantly experiences the same type of hair discrimination no matter where they go.

Ya know what Jen. I can’t say w/ the Ta blushes but the highlighter in the same component w/ the one cream & one powder that came out in the last few months DID have some issues that look reminiscent of James’ blushes!! You can def find pics somewhere if curious. The cream in Ta’s did have oil pooling/collecting at the surface both in testers at Sephora & also in many people received.

Oh the Zuru’s!!! Years ago they did all the mini food items and I would buy tons of them for my niece’s and we always had so much fun seeing what items they got and checking it off the list that they provide in each Zuru. Now my nieces are teenagers and it’s been non stop talk about the new Zuru mini makeup and mini products! I’m excited and happy about it, very cute!
