I used BST wheels before. I then tried the Rotobox Boost wheels and I would never go back. The build quality and fit and finish of the Rotobox wheels is a lot better.
THere is also a pretty significant weight savings when you go to the smaller chain too...you guys are removing a TON of rotating mass!! That rear wheel looked AWESOME!!!!
What up ib! Formerly highermathCT here! YES! Ceramic bearings are totally worth it! Just saw a tour of a manufacturer and the attention to detail, & quality control produce a product that lasts the lifetime of the bike.
I installed WorldWide ceramic bearings on my ZX-14 Carrozzeria wheels. $450 just for bearings. Hey when you are trying to get every smidgen out of your bike, why not....Next 520 chain conversion EK-3D.... Enjoyed this video, they did everything perfect, heat gun on rim hub and new bearings in the freezer, you can even get your own driver and puller set, but definitely something you can do yourself! just make sure you put the spacers in correctly or you can really mess one up then you have to scrap the new bearing because the axle rod doesn't want to go on in reverse.
I have to say it!.... Zack looks like 'the Scofield Kid' in the Movie 'Unforgiven'. I'm subscribed and enjoying the technical nature of the Channel. Thanks 650ib!
Recently found your channel from a 5up vid and I’m PISSED I didn’t find sooner. Your content is exactly what I’ve been looking for from a motovlogger. I’m from Baltimore and would’ve definitely been there to meet the crew during the bike giveaway of season 1. Hoping to catch you when you return. Keep up the great work.
650ib!!! Waz up My Friend!!! IT'S BEEN AWHILE since I've visited Your channel here!!! It's great to be back and even BEFORE Zack started spinning that carbon-fiber wheel with the NEW ceramic-bearings in it,I could already tell it was going to spin MUCH longer than it did with the old bearings, because at the 11:08 mark,he just BARELY even TOUCHED that wheel, and it spun SO EASILY before he stopped it to do the "official" spin!!! Lol. Anyway..........Be safe My Friend!!! :)
The real benefit of ceramic bearings (full ceramic, not hybrid) is their corrosion resistance and long service life. Imagine 500,000 miles or more on a set of wheel bearings! Absolutely insane. Even the best steel bearings usually only get up to 250,000 miles. Even the tiniest bit of water that can creep into a bearing won't cause it to wear out prematurely since ceramic is chemically inert. Steel races would slowly deteriorate until they become rough and worn out way before ceramic would. Full Ceramic bearings could only fail if they completely lost lubrication or sustained an intense shock impact (say pothole or curb at high enough speed to cause damage). A steel bearing would fail eventually from a shock impact too.
Jeff Wellman You won't see a significant difference in hp switching the ceramics....maybe 1 or 2 hp, which is within a margin of error. The benefit of these wheels and bearings is unsprung weight reduction. In that regard, the improvement is significant. You will notice a difference not just in acceleration, but also braking and handling. The bike will feel much more responsive in corners, and flicking it from side to side.
Love the video and your energy, I do however have a question regarding the build series. Is it only available for U.S. citizens? Asking because from what I read is that only U.S. citizens are eligible for the prizes, true or not?
Finally decided to SEND IT on some BST Rapid TEK wheels for the ZX10R... definitely going to get some ceramics as well after watching this. Was undecided on whether or not $400 more should be devoted to the wheels or rather juice or something... fuck it... why not both xD
Orings!! Don't think they came with them back in my day. Glad all 4 of my bikes are shaft or belt now. Except my first bike ever, Yammy 350 2 stroke, RD 350. It is just rusting away in the yard.
Depends the money factor depends on how passionate u are into bikes? With "most" people anything your passionate about, u find a way to make it happen.
Them before and after videos is the true test to see if it’s worth buying not just what you read online good job hate all the videos that show product but don’t test it like that we just hear them talk about
You can definitely feel them on a skateboard where all you are dealing with is gravity and friction... can't imagine they wouldn't save significant hp on a bike or car
This type of test is really measuring the amount of grease in the bearing. How the bike performs under load is a completely different thing. If you sprayed out these bearings and removed all the grease, I guarantee they would spin forever and probably no difference would be my guess.
GALACTUS When metal is cooled their is less kinetic energy, so the atoms take up less space and the metal contracts. The amount that they shrink is very little but it's enough to make it easier to press them in.
death by sr20 That’s right! I didn’t think of the physics in it. I was thinking it was for some other reason. That makes sense. Preciate the insight bro.
Hey Ib, what do you ya do with those HP wheels? Are they for sale? I've got the stock on my S1000R ... Been dreaming of some nicer rims, even if they aren't BST nice.
Es wake are u still looking for a set of hp wheels n what would u say is a fair price for a set of wheels with bearings, vale stems, sprocket rear break.
Ya I'm still looking. Can you send me a PM - I can't seem to message you. - Added an email to my account. Go to my account and under the about me section it will have my email I'll leave it up for a little bit then remove it after you send me an email. Thanks!
Es wake yea not sure how that all works was going to say 650ib is going to sell his blue set off the hp4 if u wanna try is dm not sure if the color will work but U can always paint them
I'm sorry to say but spending $395 on a ceramic wheel bearing kit is not wort it for me. If you drag the bike, by all means and if you drive roads without any bumps or potholes, go for it. But to each his own, I'm not trying to talk anyone down from installing this, just my opinion, take it as you want to.
watching this video, I wonder what tool(brand and model) did you use for the bearing removal? My BSTs have 30mm and 28mm ID bearings and I cannot find anything that fits ruclips.net/video/E5Md8AjAVIc/видео.html
why not choose different bikes for the series getting a little stale watching the same bikes. Still enjoy the channel but prefer different flavors you know just my opinion
Zach is like a surgeon, it’s great watching him do his thing!
Not so much when he sprayed the paintwork with red hot metal filings...damn.
munter10 just a guess that he’s done it a few times before without any damage to the bike. In Zach we trust!!
@Joe Bradley Didn't work because i don't have a girlfriend lol
I used BST wheels before. I then tried the Rotobox Boost wheels and I would never go back. The build quality and fit and finish of the Rotobox wheels is a lot better.
Zach (sp?), is an utterly SUPERB Technician... 99% is easy, the last 1% , is what makes the difference. Thanks 650ib! AWESOME
Thanks man! I agree!
THere is also a pretty significant weight savings when you go to the smaller chain too...you guys are removing a TON of rotating mass!! That rear wheel looked AWESOME!!!!

If you dip the pit bull stand tips in a few coats of plastic dip it will not hurt the anodized wheel spools. Great vid!

I have to get the BST wheels. They are nice. Thanks for the lesson today!
WOW! Zak’s “calibrated-mechanic-elbow” has just now sold me on ceramic bearings. My wheel’s rotational mass applaud you kind sir 🙏🏽🤩
zack works so fast that is amazing !
You should turn this concept of videos into a television show.
I have to say it!.... Zack looks like 'the Scofield Kid' in the Movie 'Unforgiven'. I'm subscribed and enjoying the technical nature of the Channel. Thanks 650ib!
Love what you do ib and having Zack there explaining how everything works it’s just great !!!!

I just can't stop watching with every video u upload n i lov it. 650ib
Learned something new as always! Keep up the great work!
Great video. How long does it takes to install ceramic wheel bearings?
10 mins
Every day of the week and twice on Tuesday’s! Have some on order for the r1
love watching zac working on the bike!!! thumbs up!

2:34 was expecting the gas tank to blow up… smh gotta up the production value on these videos.
Viewed your visit but the stipulations are fugetacular
What difference does a BST wheel and ceramic bearings make on the dyno?
A dyno is NOT the real world. The wheels and bearings enhance the handling A LOT!!
munter10 agreed but curious about hp gains since the majority of SMACK DOWNS are in a straight line and not the twisties.

Hey 650ib if you come back to Atlanta I would love to put smackdown on your hp4
Love the video and your energy, I do however have a question regarding the build series. Is it only available for U.S. citizens? Asking because from what I read is that only U.S. citizens are eligible for the prizes, true or not?
I'm not allowed to export the bikes outside of the United States.
thank you so much for the reply, sucks for me lol but good luck to anyone that does win!!!
@@650ib why is that?
Great video 650ib , Zack rocks as always 😜👍🇦🇺
Finally decided to SEND IT on some BST Rapid TEK wheels for the ZX10R... definitely going to get some ceramics as well after watching this. Was undecided on whether or not $400 more should be devoted to the wheels or rather juice or something... fuck it... why not both xD
Is that 5UP's S1000RR on the lift in the background.....
cletus2941 yes
Orings!! Don't think they came with them back in my day. Glad all 4 of my bikes are shaft or belt now. Except my first bike ever, Yammy 350 2 stroke, RD 350. It is just rusting away in the yard.
Are $ worth the Ceramic Wheel Bearings?
If you have the money buy it!
Regards AeroR🚀
Depends the money factor depends on how passionate u are into bikes? With "most" people anything your passionate about, u find a way to make it happen.
Of course right!
Did you have your '12 S1000rr flashed? If so, how?
Them before and after videos is the true test to see if it’s worth buying not just what you read online good job hate all the videos that show product but don’t test it like that we just hear them talk about
Why don’t you balance the whole rotating assembly (wheel, tire, sprocket assembly, and rotor)? Why remove the sprocket assembly?
In the second series you said that you would do a CBR 1000 ?!
Wish I had that bike sounds like it'll be sweet
Ceramic bearings are awesome! I would strongly recommend them for any bike.
You can definitely feel them on a skateboard where all you are dealing with is gravity and friction... can't imagine they wouldn't save significant hp on a bike or car
Has the wheel been nicked yet ?
According to bearing experts, most of the friction comes from the grease and seals.... make your deductions...
Damn, another mod I need to do now for weight savings😧👌
What's up Ib?! Hope all is well...nice vid
Great information! Thanks for sharing!
Them wheels are amazing
where can i purchase bearings
Http://www.brocksperformance.com
Loving the build series! Good thing my HP4 already came with the Ceramic bearings, too bad it didnt come with Carbon wheels too haha
Another good one...
I cant pledge because the part where I enter my address just continues to load and it won't let me enter anything. Please help
So cool wheel and on hand service pro....man
I wanna buy some for my daily scooter because of the video now 😅💪👍
Come to NYC for some smackdowns and realty lmao just joking great job as always 650 Ib
Ceramic bearings last longer?
T Amadues Yes
Looked like u spun ceramic slower and bearings are cooler
Very impressive
AWESOME AMAZING MAGIC
How do I win? I need this bike!!
You know that the sparks from that grinder stick to just every surface !!! Well fuck that shit ...it's not yours after all!!

That was also less force on the spin it could of went longer
Amazing!

Cool thanks, I'll see what he's asking for them.
Why do you keep us waiting so long, ib? 😢
Ib your dragging out the vids, both wheels should have gone on at the same time
Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious, are you supporting me on Patreon?
650ib yes sir

Explanations to the different bearings the good and bad ruclips.net/video/o7iZVfSDbiA/видео.html
I gotta win this time lol
Nice 👍 look good and 🔥🔥🔥🔥
CRINGE MOMENT 2:35, why Zac why
I felt the same cringe, he should have covered the bike with a curtain as surgeons do when they dont wanna spray the patient with blood!
munter10 better still dont use a grinder, boat builders best friend......
watching this video, I wonder what tool(brand and model) did you use for the bearing removal? My BSTs have 30mm and 28mm ID bearings and I cannot find anything that fits ruclips.net/video/E5Md8AjAVIc/видео.html
Badluck for me for staying in india, i want to win. But GOODLUCK ANYWAY
I have to win it
Haha the audio was so bad back then compared to now
why not choose different bikes for the series getting a little stale watching the same bikes. Still enjoy the channel but prefer different flavors you know just my opinion
I can't win :-/
For Racing? Why on weight savings and costs... For the Road.....
Dollar for dollar, hell no they aren't worth the money. Ok, I'm just poor lol.
