Love: 1) this idea of sharing mature plants in their glory!, 2) that you respect your neighbors and asked permission, 3) how much of a noise buffer the hill and those BLE created. Win!
KEEEEEEEP DOING THESE vids !! Omg I love to see mature plants that you are thrilled by! If you are, WE ARE! But don’t stop doing the regular vids too! 😆 Dang you’ve got us spoiled Laurita! 💕💕
Well shoot, I planted mine to close to the house. It really helps seeing mature sizes and this landscape shows their potential. Love this so much. More please.
Also!! Don't forget, that there are some amazing recipes for elderberry, both the flowers and the berries! If you make lemonade with the flowers, it gets this very delicate pink colour 🙂 My mother used to pick the flowers, dip the whole flower "disc" in pancake batter, and then fry them. And then you just pull of the stem, and enjoy 🙂
I have just got a Black Lace Elderberry from Home Depot and planted it in my shady backyard. I believe it is a shade plant. Cannot believe it grows so well in a full sun garden. It's so pretty. I wish mine would be as beautiful as your neighbor's in a few years. Thank you for sharing.
I grow black lace elderberry in zone 8 and they are loving it. I do have them in partial shade. They are healthy and thriving, and I know from gardening forums that others also grow them in zone 8 with success.
I just LOVE this plant! Every since the 1st time you showed it at someone else's house (and I think you took it out) and now this year you have shown it blooms. I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how I could fit this in my yard. I just don't have enough room, especially now that I know I don't want to keep it 'size controlled' because I want those blooms, too. Maybe if I tear down the house..... :D Love the videos of other places.
Laura has made me love gardening so much, that I wish I were a fairy and could tear down the house, make the whole property a beautiful garden and just live in a tree! 🧚🏻♀️💗😄
I live in ON, Canada and my Black Lace Elderberry grows HUGE every year, no matter how much I cut it back. It is probably my favourite thing planted on my property. 💜
I love elderberries, especially the various Black Lace varieties. I don't grow them in our gardens, as they are toxic to horses, but I can plant them out beyond our driveway gate...
My landscaper recommended one and we've never regretted it. He said it would get big but thankfully not as large as these as it's closer to our house. One of my favorite plants in our perennial garden.
THANK YOU!!! 🙏🙏🙏 I have been on the fence about whether or not to get an elderberry. This beautiful display of black lace elderberry has convinced me to go back to the store and get one - or five! Those are beautiful, thank you for sharing. I love the idea of you showing us landscapes you find beautiful too. It really does help, me at least, envision what could be in my own garden.
Laura can you please talk a little more in depth about how they need a companion plant to bloom/produce berries? I almost bought one of these a few weeks ago and my garden center told me it wouldn’t produce berries if I didn’t have its companion plant to go with it. I was a little disappointed because I don’t care about the berries but I really wanted the plant to flower and I didn’t think I had enough room in my garden for a second large shrub. Thanks so much! Lots of love to you, Aaron and Benjamin! I couldn’t survive my NH winters without a daily dose of you guys. 🙂
Omg those are beautiful. I have to tell you I have been to the garden centers every weekend picking up more and more flowers and bushes because of you Laura. You are such an inspiration. I’m not afraid to try new things anymore. My garden in looking fantastic. Even some of the neighbors are asking to see what we’ve done....
Stunning! I planted one of these about 30 yrs ago in a garden and had to move about a year later so I never saw it mature...it must look close to this now...it was a focal point in a border garden like this. Thanks so much for the video. You and Aaron are just so thoughtful..
They are stunning I have just bought a couple and a Black Tower Elderberry which grows more upright and compact cannot wait to see how they progress here in the UK 🌺
This "yard" is spectacular!! And looks like the entrance to a botanical garden or park! As soon as you got behind the BLEs the traffic sounds completely stopped... what a gorgeous sound buffer! ❤
So great to see mature plants! Sometimes it's difficult to know what mature plants will be like -- searching for pics doesn't really show scale. Love this!!! ♥️
🌿WOW! Those are amazing! Love the lace leaves. Colors are just stunning. I want some of these as well as the lemon lace elderberry ones. Such a beautiful view to drive by each day!💜☀️
This looks so vivid , the background , everything looks unreal . Im blown away by this scene. Love love love . Thank you so much for seeing an opportunity to capture and share i will also do the same . Spectacular
Oh my goodness that whole set up with the elderberries and the whole landscape and the beautiful blue sky and bright sun looks like something from Alice in wonderland or a Marvel movie that was in another world. It's kinda like something someone would green screen cause something that beautiful can't be real. I wanna make it my wallpaper!
Hi Laura, I have watched this for the first time today and there could not have been a better time for me to watch you present this beautiful plant...I am currently looking for the right plant to feel a gap in my backyard and an Elderberry will be just perfect... Many thanks and much admiration from a beginner gardener in a Swiss zone 8a 🙂🙏🏾👏🏾🪴🌻
I manage a nursery down here in SoCal and I ordered these from our growers and they are absolutely spectacular! I’ve been contemplating buying one for myself and this video helped convince me!
Flowers are edible as well. In Poland we make syrup from the flowers and berries. We also used as dry herbs or make a elderberry jam. Amazing when you have a cold.
Dear Laura, please do share mature plants or anything beautiful landscapes when you see some. I appreciate everything you do. Keep up the wonderful work, god bless you and your family
I still wonder how nature is always trying to show us what beauty is... And we seldom stop to catch the notes or a glimpse. So, with this vid am grateful you caught that fleeting moment of beauty for us. Much love and gratitude from India!!!!!
Oh my what in the world. They are magnificent! Covered in those dainty beautiful flowers. They truly are a beautiful plant. I wish they would grow here in central Texas. I would plant them right across my back fence. TFS! Stay safe & take care.🥰🤗🤭😍💙💙
Thank you so much for this video! I planted a blacklace elderberry this spring and have been second guessing its placement ever since. Not anymore, in fact... now I want a second one!
amazing! I am loving that the last few videos you are stepping away from your gardens and showing us more! it has been really great as a viewer and your fan!
What an amazing view. Beautiful mature elderberries. The blossom also makes for excellent pink syrup lemonade or pink bubbly if you mix the syrup with soda. I wish in my area these would grow as big. Lovely.
I love this video, too. I bought one Black Lace Elderberry and one Lemon Lace Elderberry after seeing some in my city. Both were pretty large in the Proven Winners containers. Within three weeks deer ate both of them down to 6-12 inches. I put them on my deck and they somehow grew and got branches with the beautiful leaves by the fall, but no blooming. I'm hoping they bloom this spring! I don't know if there is something about Utah deer, but they LOVED eating mine! (and my poor Weigela Sonic Blooms, which didn't make it.)
Glorious! I have one in my yard - GA Zone 8A - and it does beautifully. I never can get to the berries before the birds do, lol, but the beauty of the flowers every year makes it definitely worth having in your yard...
I've been wanting Black Lace Elderberry & to see what a full grown mature one or hedge looks like! Been waiting for this video ever since you said you'd ask the neighbors if you could show theirs!! Love!
I have 3 black lace elderberry. One is mature and enormous! The others are small just out of the can, and I plan to size control those ones. Your neighbors are simply breathtaking.
Hi Laura and Aaron! Thank you for showing us that this gorgeous garden! Is there any chance that you will be able to send us an update of how the plantings are doing at your church? I would love to see what it looks like now, thank you! You're doing an AMAZING job making all these videos. All of us stuck at home appreciate it more than you can imagine 😍
Absolutely stunning thank you for this video ..I sure appreciate your versatility in your videos ..it really separates you in a category of your own ..amazing plants ..just have to stop for a moment and thank our creator for such variety..beauty ... and love for us measles humans ..
Thank you thank you!! Oh I'm so glad one of your viewers got back to me in the comments and I ordered these from Proven winners last week. I hesitated because the tags read sun/ part sun and I took that as meaning it needed shade in the hottest part of the Day. My back yard is where I wanted these and it's full sun 90% of the day and HOT!! I can't wait to put these back there and watch them grow! Smiles and blessings...
Love: 1) this idea of sharing mature plants in their glory!, 2) that you respect your neighbors and asked permission, 3) how much of a noise buffer the hill and those BLE created. Win!

for real these videos the last few days are really spoiling us with some new and different content in different places!!
Yes! More of this. I love seeing what mature plants look like in the landscape.
First you make me fall in love with huecherella. Now black lace elderberry. A must have for next year!
Karon Crickmore the black lace can get huge ..so I have had to trim back every other year
Well shoot, I planted mine to close to the house. It really helps seeing mature sizes and this landscape shows their potential. Love this so much. More please.
does it replant fairly well?
I have watched those plants since they were freshly planted. I purposefully take that route to do errands😂. So beautiful 😍
Also!! Don't forget, that there are some amazing recipes for elderberry, both the flowers and the berries! If you make lemonade with the flowers, it gets this very delicate pink colour 🙂 My mother used to pick the flowers, dip the whole flower "disc" in pancake batter, and then fry them. So magical, I love when bushes are planted on a crest and they tower over you, it’s such an impactful planting
More videos like this would be very welcome for a novice gardener. Thank you for your knowledge and time, more importantly my garden thanks you.
I grow black lace elderberry in zone 8 and they are loving it. I do have them in partial shade. They are healthy and thriving, and I know from gardening forums that others also grow them in zone 8 with success.
I had never seen or heard of this shrub before until I watched your videos. I have planted both the Black Lace and the Lemon Lime one on my property.
Wow!! Please thank your neighbor for letting us have a glimpse of her yard and those gorgeous Elderberry trees!
So gorgeous. Ours have grown so much in 2 years. Really beautiful❤️

What a treat! These elderberries are gorgeous!
I would love to see you do a interview with her. And show how they look through out the year and how she cares for them.
Omg those are beautiful. I have to tell you I have been to the garden centers every weekend picking up more and more flowers and bushes because of you Laura. You are such an inspiration. So magical and beautiful. A sound screen with a beautiful view♥️♥️♥️
I love black lace, lemony lace, and native elderberries. We had a native one, and it attracted so many birds!!!
They are stunning I have just bought a couple and a Black Tower Elderberry which grows more upright and compact cannot wait to see how they progress here in the UK 🌺
I hope you are able to put these in your new garden!!! Oh my goodness, these would be gorgeous!
Bought one two weeks ago for a spot in my yard that I had no idea what to do with....and all because of you, Laura. Thank you!
Love this plant. So pretty. Glad you are friends with people with luscious gardens.
This "yard" is spectacular!! And looks like the entrance to a botanical garden or park! As soon as you got behind the BLEs the traffic sounds completely stopped... what a gorgeous sound buffer! ❤

This is excellent! Thank you for showing us this. I take Black Elderberry Syrup daily so it's also nice to see where it comes from!
Flowers are edible as well. In Poland we make syrup from the flowers and berries. We also used as dry herbs or make a elderberry jam. Amazing when you have a cold.
I ordered 3 of these in the 3 gallon size today! Can't wait to watch them grow!
Spectacular!!! I love these! How I wish these can thrive in tropical countries?!

Wow, those are beautiful. Elderberry grows wild here in Louisiana. I would love to have one of those in my landscape.
