I LOVE THESE KINDS OF VIDEOS. I also love how you point out the things that make the plants beautiful beyond just the flower etc. Like the structure of the bloom. The seed pods etc. If everyone could just slow down and pay attention to all the beautiful details that surround us we would be a whole different world.

I am so jealous of how many of your perennials have busted out so well this year, Laura! We had two cold snaps here in Denver in April (also Zone 5 with horrible clay soil -- I feel your pain, sistah!) where we got down to 18 degrees and all of my roses and other plants that were ready to rock got severely crippled with their growth. My 2-year-old Electric Blue Penstemon still looks like a seedling. 😞 I have added a bit more Biotone to it, so I hope that helps. At least I can see your garden and be happy. Thanks, girl and to Messieurs Aaron, Benjamin and Russell, too! xoxo Christine in sunny CO 😊🌞

I’m so excited that you posted this video. I bought two penstemons two years ago and the deer got them before they could bloom. This year I put repellent on them and they bloomed beautifully but I forgot what they were 😨. So I used my plant app to identify them and was thrilled to find out they were penstemon because I’ve heard you talk about them often. I just cut the spent bloom stalks and now wish I hadn’t. Oh well maybe they will re bloom!

They are looking absolutely gorgeous but some branches are laying on the ground? They are full of flowers . Is it because the flowers are heavy? It’s only on a couple of the plants the rest of the plants are spreading out but are not getting taller. Thank you for sharing your beautiful flowers with us:)
