Yep. There's also irregular cabin spacing at 2:43, 5:08, 7:20, 9:28, 11:36, 13:44, 16:18, 18:51, 21:17. This leaves ten gaps, which means it is likely 10 cabins were taken off the line. They're all taken off at irregular intervals, 13-17 cabins between each gap. The spacing isn't corrected for the missing cabins, as the spacing is fixed for the number of cabins that Whistler Village Gondola is designed to run with by use of the chain contours in the bottom, mid, and top terminals.
Assuming you're talking about the First Tracks program, yes, that is basically what it entails. Participants get on the gondola early and are the first ones on the slopes.
The base depth (which I assume is at alpine) is 273 cm, or 107 in as of April 11th. However, Whistler's last day is April 18th, which after that, all skiing is moved to Blackcomb for the last month of the season, and snow is cleared off Whistler for the summer bike park.
@@TwinSkiingLiftsRides Keep in mind, riding in a straight line (which is this gondola) is a long distance of three miles. Of course it's going to feel slow. Fitzsimmons, Garbanzo, and Emerald all go about the same speed as WVG, so with a longer combined length, and the fact you have to ski between each one, it's going to take significantly longer.
That's a long Gondola ride!
Interesting, I thought the mid-station had a slight turn, but apparently it just goes straight.
No, you're right, it has a slight turn. What makes you think otherwise?
@@sorenjones It just looed like a straight mid-station, no turn was visible, maybe I wasn't looking closely.
@@idahoskilifts4242 It's hard to see the turn while inside the Olympic Station, but looking up from the base, it's quite obvious there's a turn.
It looked to me as if there is an abnormally large gap between your gondola and the one in front.

Do you know why they removed some? Just curious
They're either keeping the cabins as backup, or they're offline for maintenance (which is the more likely case).
Alr thx
The early bird skiers get the hill almost all to themselves.

Goodbye Fitzsimmons chair
Nice video! How much snow is still left up there?

@@sorenjones Which will also give plenty of room for the construction crews on Whistler to work in upgrading Big Red and Creekside.
how was the skiing? awesome gondola!
1:03 that’s a tiny bull wheel
It's a return terminal bullwheel.

This isn’t even that bad

@@sorenjones True, but this lift frequently gets long lines, so Fitzsimmons to Garbanzo to Emerald felt faster to me.
