As someone who doesn't ski or snowboard, I never had any desire to go to Whistler. But boy was I surprised with the vibe, and all of the attractions. Whistler CAN be for you even if you're not a winter sports person, or if you're visiting during off season.

The calmness of the place is sweet for 2 days, not more than this. The food looks delicious and clean.

This place looks so lovely and even without the snow it still has such a ski village look to it. We would both love to go to Whistler skiing but had no idea there was so much to do there without skiing, the nature and waterfalls look beautiful!

There is plenty to do there!! And just like any ski village, it's all fairly expensive... but the scenery is worth it.

My friend and I went to Vancouver many, many years ago and drove up to Whistler. They were filming a German variety show in the village so it was full of Germans. It's funny because both my friend and I have German mothers. We met 3 RCMP and hung out with them for awhile. We also saw a dog agility training event and then went horseback riding. They have a summer luge you can ride too. It's a fun place even in the summer.

I'm so excited to visit British Columbia some day. It looks so beautiful! Ski hills across North America have done such a great job creating fun summer experiences. I had a ton of fun one summer going to Vail, Colorado - lots of hiking, mountain biking, and a fun village to explore

That mountain biking looks so intense but fun! There really is a lot to do in this area and so many great views from the gondolas and the hiking trails. I had no idea!

Yes very intense! I enjoyed watching, but know I wouldn't be trying it out myself lol.

Great info! Those fries looked delicious! Always enjoy a gondola 🚠 ride up the mountain. As a non skier it’s still a great way to see a mountain. Those waterfall looked awaking! I love the clouds and the hiking in the second gondola as well. Sea to sky looks like my jam. So many fun adventures to have there! Thank you!

    Hi Sarah,
Wonderful video, I don’t think I have seen whistler without snow, how beautiful. I loved all your suggestions, but I do like a gondola to get up nice and high.
Loved yet another of your videos.

Steve is in the same boat, I brought him to a ski mountain in Turkey but he doesn't ski so it's really nice to see these resort areas cater to other crowds, especially the sky gondola! Canada has so much more natural beauty than people realize, and sadly I haven't been yet and Steve has only seen Niagara Falls... seems like we have a lot to catch up on.

Lol, we would likely still get lost a few times too! 😂 Cool covered walking bridge with views of that river! Interesting to read the placard about the culturally modified tree--we have not ever heard of that before. The Olympic Plaza reminds us of the Olympic area in Park City. Wow, impressive waterfall! We experienced a Brandywine Falls in Ohio last October...not as big though. Bet you can't go into that water to fish without waders; seems like it would be really cold! April snowshoes and has tried cross-country skiing, but has never skied...Wayne is a snowboarder though 😎

    • @TheAverageTourist
      @TheAverageTourist  2 года назад +1

Wayne - a snowboarder and a motorcycle enthusiast! 😎 Much cooler than us lol. My husband used to snowboard and once upon a time I went skiing, but I prefer to hike the mountains - and maybe not in the winter haha

The village is so cute! I was really surprised by all of the options for things to do. I would want to try mountain biking. I think I have technically been on a "mountain bike" in my younger years, but I don't think I can say the leisurely riding was anything like actual mountain biking 😆
I was happy to see Shannon Falls again in this video for the rock climbing 💪

    • @TheAverageTourist

if you have never mountain biked specifically done park style whistler is not the place to try it. whistler bike park is like the mecca of the mountain biking community and its not the spot for beginners
