As much as I love mechs, actually building them to work is so untenable. Something like 40k, Battletech/Mechwarrior, Gundam and so on. All very cool, but the cube square law makes it too unviable. They would collapse under their own weight.
1. Square cube law, not cube square law. 2. OBSOLETE doesn't feature mechs of that size. 3. The real reason mechs are generally not practical is because of their armor profile and resource efficiency, something that is addressed in the actual show. When you hear something online, it's usually a good idea to use some critical thinking to analyze what information was actually conveyed.
Even ignoring material science, it's the complexity issue that kills the idea. When you remove unnecessary joints and servoes, turn the arms into simpler weapons emplacements, and replace the legs with wheels or tracks, you just get a bog-standard tank or AFV. Remove all limbs and keep the flying capability and you get a fighter jet. The human shape is ultimately for ego and cool factor. I like mecha, to be clear.
Thats why actually i think mech are better suited in space or low gravity area with small or none atmosphere where the resistance or weight start to bother it. This also why i adore "RB-79" ball type. Its thing that people IRL could actually make it and usefull not only on combat (not to mention it actually created for space)
The story is meh, but I stayed for the worldbuilding. I like the semi-realistic approach of this anime, the military implements an existing weapon system to the mech.
Amusingly, due to the... shall we say lackluster capabilities of mechanical joints to resist debris being forcibly injected into them, the A-10 would work wonders against maneuver-killing mechs with its brrrt gun. Missiles would still rain king on actually destroying the suits though; Mavericks with either a 100lb HEAT or 300lb HE-FRAG warhead already routinely demolish modern tanks, mechs would be eaten alive
I could never get into mechs. They just make no sense in combat. They wouldn't be able to carry weapons larger or more advanced than what we could put on dedicated platforms, they'd never be as flexible as an armored battalion. They'd never be cost effective. And they'd never have longevity. Mechs just make no sense.

Old things still do the job fine.
New things can do new things tho.
What episode is it with the helicopter?
episode 6 "JAMAL"
Mechs using a giant mortar is so stupid its hilarious
i thought that was a fucking forklift that flew off at the start, my ass was waiting for it to hit a tank or some shit
What anime name ? THK
anime name please?
OBSOLETE
WHAT SHOW IS THIS ???
Obsolete is a Good Anime with good amount of Copium
what anime is this an edit of?
As much as I love mechs, actually building them to work is so untenable. Something like 40k, Battletech/Mechwarrior, Gundam and so on. All very cool, but the cube square law makes it too unviable. They would collapse under their own weight.
1. Square cube law, not cube square law.
2. OBSOLETE doesn't feature mechs of that size.
3. The real reason mechs are generally not practical is because of their armor profile and resource efficiency, something that is addressed in the actual show.
When you hear something online, it's usually a good idea to use some critical thinking to analyze what information was actually conveyed.
@@sharkastic2633 critical thinking is OBSOLETE
jk jk
@@pcenero You either didn't watch the show or didn't pay attention when you did.
it's a shame how terrible the tank combat was in this show despite the visuals
What is this anime called??
anyone know the name?
Obsolete, its available on youtube.
Ok thanks!

Destroids ?
If it aint broke dont fix it
the character introductions of this show were so insufferable I couldn't hack the first episode. Should I have kept watching?
The characters were quite wooden, except maybe for the African kid commandos. The mech combat and the geopolitics were far more interesting.
The story is meh, but I stayed for the worldbuilding. I like the semi-realistic approach of this anime, the military implements an existing weapon system to the mech.
are you listening to the American dub? the Japanese original makes it 10x less worse

i love how most of the weapons of choice were seen as unusable pieces of shit in Ukraine, only to steamroll mechas and proved themselves worthy again
I have somewhat got the feeling, that that will be the theme for WW3.

EMOTION Label Channel "OBSOLETE "
Dunno what this sshit is but i wanna see it lol
What is this?
Obsolete my ass that A10 is as modern as the day it was built
The day it was built it was already absolete by about 30 years
Amusingly, due to the... shall we say lackluster capabilities of mechanical joints to resist debris being forcibly injected into them, the A-10 would work wonders against maneuver-killing mechs with its brrrt gun. Missiles would still rain king on actually destroying the suits though; Mavericks with either a 100lb HEAT or 300lb HE-FRAG warhead already routinely demolish modern tanks, mechs would be eaten alive
90% of the people in the comments never watched the series and it shows so bad😩
I could never get into mechs. They just make no sense in combat. They wouldn't be able to carry weapons larger or more advanced than what we could put on dedicated platforms, they'd never be as flexible as an armored battalion. They'd never be cost effective. And they'd never have longevity. Mechs just make no sense.
Animation was great but the writing got so lazy and so far off anything entertaining.
Music choice is poor. It sounds like a weird advertisement.
check out carpenter brut, or utilize classical music to juxtapose the scenes.
The music is the shows OP
