So after watching all your videos and playing with these yesterday I'm torn. I love the separation of corn silage and the use of it for feeding. However I'm not a fan of how much the animals eat and the amount of different items to feed them. I grew up raising pigs cows and sheep my whole life and fat cows got cracked corn and protein. Calving cows got cracked corn and oats and hay or grazed in summer. Pigs got a corn and protein grind. Sheep got some cracked corn and oats and hay or grass like cows. We also raised and milked Holsteins and they would graze all day and we'd give some grain in the parlor while milking and some corn silage in the bunk after milking. The biggest problem I'm having is the amount they eat. You can't keep up with the feeding unless you buy it all (if you have enough money) especially with seasons
@@DisTurbedSimulations I just watched your video on editing the food types. I'm not good with technology at all but my 16 year old is a wizard on it so maybe he can help

Hello, I like to follow you and you make great instructions, I really like to learn and wonder. I am from Slovakia and we have 6 large farms that we own. There are many recipes for feeding, if you are interested, I will find out how to feed and what on our farm. It would be a great mod also for pickling seeds, we use chemistry for pickling called Celes Trio and Deter, and water in a 150-liter tank of pickling can be seen at 11 to 13 bigs of 1000 kilos. I would also like it if there was a mod for real spraying of crops, because you just buy herbicide and then spray it, it would be like buying and loading chemicals and mixing it from water. For example, water would be pumped from the faeces into the sprinkler and chemicals would be added, for example 50 liters. That would be great.
I'm definitely interested in recipes for feeding. I think it was in FS19 that custom modding made a mod that let you mix herbicide from water and chemical. Maybe that will come to FS22 as well
I'd love seeing a mod that allows you to setup a pasture with coded fences and determine exactly the area you wish for your cows. that'd be great and realistic for that matter
It's preferred but as long as you don't tip any filltypes on the ground no new save is needed.. Also better not to make any silage bales because they will be GPS (WCS) silage instead of grass silage after adding M+
Awesome! I would love to see calves that look like calves, and most mods show Angus cattle with horns, real Angus has no horns! This is the best ever! Thanks
Angus absolutely can have horns, just like all other cattle. The Angus I raised did in fact have them, but most farmers use a paste that is applied to the the calves horn nubs that prevents them from growing. Farmers do this to avoid injury to themselves and other cattle. An angry cow or bull with horns can kill or seriously injure other cattle
Excellent, well thought out and explained video. My question is if a valid tmr mixture for cows can be just maize and grass silage as in your video, why would you go the expense and trouble of buying say molasses or any other of the optional items? I am assuming there is no benefit to the tmr mixture in providing optional items.
For added realism. Different dairy farms feed different items. Depending on how they run their farm, and the area of the world that they live in. They wanted to give as many options as possible. At the end of the day, you can make it simple and only use 1 item from each food group (As shown at 1:26) and still make TMR, or you can use a verity of them for more realism. It's up to you on how you want to play.
Cut potatoes and sugar beet are made using the fliegl ruby front loader bucket that is part of the base game. Beet pulp you can buy from the sell point included with M+ or there is a modded sugar mill by justdadam that outputs beet pulp.

Thanks for making this video! Will there be an up date for Maze plus? So far I find that this mod is very buggy. I lost 1million of corn silage because I had a American harvestore silage silo before using maze plus and the maze silage bunker would not let me open it. ( I didn't know there would be a mod conflict) Then there is the bunker problem where it dumps the contents on the ground and won't let you replace it back into the bunker.( I also lost some Brewers grain from the Maize plus bunker would not open) Also only a few of the mixer wagons will work and I am using the same mixer wagon as you in this video and I can not just drop in the bales I have to hang the bales into the mixer and wait for it to dribble into the mixer. On the whole I like this mod. I hope it gets a up date!
Problems with things like harvestores is not a maizeplus issue, bunkers not opening it a basegame bug (I have a video on this). Not being able to tip back in a silo is intentional but can be fix (I have a video on this). Mixers not working is not a maizeplus bug. So no none of this will be updated. Maizeplus is not a buggy mod, but it gets blamed for other mods being badly coded or base game issues.
Productions (harvestore) can't always instantly be supported. No idea of the bunkers, but it's been a game bug since fs17 apparently and mixers is down to some modders not coding them using categories. Add in maps that do different things, any other mods you have that could have warnings or error and it all gets complicated.. and then people say 'maizeplus is buggy'
thank you for the video. I'm struggling with the sugar beet cut. None of my tipper accept it, so.. I had to dump it on the ground. Also the cow mixer doesn't accept it. For the water: can I use a normal water supply? or have to be "pure water" from the store? Lastly, I have an issue with slurry. my cows don't produce anymore any slurry since the mod, do I have to do any more step in between?
it would be so cool for maizeplus to make the age that cows make milk more random just like IRL, due to them starting to make milk when they birth calf, not just a set age.
You should look at adding enhanced animal system along with Maize Plus, this will essentially add this effect. From enhanced animal system 9. milk yield is dependent on the last birth And yes these mods are compatible with each other.
All mixes have the same result when feeding, and it only needs to be a valid mix. So for realistic just grass silage and maize silage is the same as anything more complicated
Thanks for the tutorial! Let's see if I understood correctly: - Standard recipe is the base game recipe, the so called "easy mode". - Beef Cattle/young stock/dairy cattle are the specific recipes for those three types of cows and it's the "medium mode" - Realistic recipe is the hardest of the three but the more "complete", good for all types of cows. It's the "hard mode". Is it correct?
Not quite, they all work as well for feeding (limitation of the game) and the realistic mixture can be the easiest as it only needs to be grass silage and maize silage. The rest is optional
I'm not sure how to sensibly test that, as the number of variables is massive... do you make the simplest possible TMR (grass and maize silage) or a more complicated one vs do you grow / harvest all the other feed or buy.

Where the cows go depends on what the modder has set up. Maybe try LanciBoi's sheds? Currently you can't just put fences out for animals to stay in.
Only a math genius could get that realistic mixture right 😬
that's the easiest, only needs to be more than 20% each of grass silage and maize silage. The rest is optional ;)
