Copy all 3 coordinates directly from the XML without commas, click in any of the coord boxes in GE, CtrlShftV... done. Also, if you need more than 3 foliage areas just CtrlD duplicate the 'AreaStart" of the last one and rename top right. (with enough boxes you can make 'circles'.)
Evening DS, can I use this method within the Giants Editor to create a grazing pasture on Calmsden in the meadow behind the cow barn ? (with Maize Plus and the Animal Grazing mod) The cows do roam around the pasture field behind the cow barn on Calmsden but I guess on the vanilla map they do not eat the grass is that correct ?
if you follow the tutorial (it mentions it will work with Calmsden) it will show you how to adjust the foliage areas in the existing cow shed to make them work with grazing. Alternatively there are a set I created that are available to download for that map.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just edited the foliage areas on Stone Valley. It's a simple rectangle so much easier than the map you demoed. Just to be sure though, I still need to paint over the deco grass with meadow grass, correct?
Great video. If there is no foliage area at all in the map would it be as simple as to just create them in GE or would there be additional code required ? Looking at Purbeck as there is no foliage area object at all
@@DisTurbedSimulations if you can do it for purbeck any chance you could do it for me on Green valley nebraska? ive tried and tried and i cant do it 😂😂😭😭
Very good video. Well done. I'm trying to do this on the Osada map but when I'm in the editor and select the farm I don't get the attribute window at all. So I have no idea how to enter the coordinates. Any idea what I am missing?
@@DisTurbedSimulations nothing happens when I click on attributes. Nothing expands nor shows on the right side of the window. That is why I wondered if the Osada is causing it or not? Also when I import the cow barn to the edit and expand the option, there is no foliage option at all
Nice vid but beyond my level of ability to do. I'd end up breaking something. Is there anywhere to find a definitive list of what maps the animal grazing actually works on at present that wouldnt require these types of adjustments.
I'm checking out all your videos on these new mods. Not sure if it's the grazing mod or maize plus that caused the animals to go through 10times the food, but I hope that can be adjusted at some point
Hi, Thanks for the Guide, I tried this with "The Lost Corner" but the game crashes once it loads and I turn to face the cattle farm, where should I start looking to see why this is happening, do i need to turn on some type of debugging ?
I have an issue where after the cows graze for the first time the grass does not grow back. They will have food until that runs out and then no new food and no new grass grows. I have reset foliage areas, I have painted the land with meadow grass. No matter what I do, after the initial grazing the grass wont come back. This has been tested a few times on a few different maps, over a few ingame years each time. Any ideas on what the issue is? I've also checked to see if it's a mod conflict, but even on a vanilla game with just the grazing addon the same thing happens.
Have you tried with just 1 cow? And have you tried with just grazing and maizeplus installed? The problem is usually that pastures are too small for the number of cows they hold so as soon as the grass grows it is used
@@DisTurbedSimulations Yes I've attempted with one cow. The same thing happens just at a much slower rate. I dont use maizeplus but I have unistalled all mods but the grazing mod to test. Same thing happens.

I'm sorry, I was wrong, I didn't pay for the map, so I want to make a modification to the map and make the cows eat in the normal pasture, so I said if you would charge to do that@@DisTurbedSimulations

Everyday is a school day. The new foliage areas also need linking in the XML don't they?
@@DisTurbedSimulations Maybe, yes.
Yes, in the xml you also need to copy the last line inside FoliageAreas and adjust the numbers.
How do you create a foliage area if the map doesn't contain one?
@@letsfeelgoodnow The Foliage Areas are in the Animal husbandry, not the map.

correct, the really short deco grass can't be eaten

You need to create it in giants editor and link it all in the xml, which is why I don't have a video on it as its a bit more involved
@@DisTurbedSimulations I'll have a go later, thanks! I'll use the Calmsden files as a reference

Not yet, but for Calmsden the files are on mine or Oxy's discord.
one question pls: if i dont use the barns on calsmden and put standard ones in , would it work?
Yes. Or if you go on mine or Oxy's discord the files are available to add to the map
@@DisTurbedSimulations oooh super Mr D THX
Can you somehow do this with cow barns you have placed, so you get a larger or customized grazing area??
Try it :) edit the foliage area, put grass in it and see
The cows won't move over the increased area as the navmesh is separate
All this is way over my head! If I got the files from you Oxys page for calmsden how do I get them to where they need to be!?
There are instructions with the files

It's the maizeplus AFA, and it's intentional but you can edit it yourself in the AFA.
Interesting video but if I got G editor I would start destroy the map but great video 👏👏👍👍
The files you need are on mine or Oxy's discord now

I just tried on Cow Farm 1.0.0.2 by -[ABT]-FrankyY and there are no foliagearea objects :/
edit: green valley nebraska doesn't have them either :(
