Battle Pets in Classic WoW (Extensive Guide)

- Hello guys. In today's video I will be going over all the items in Classic World of Warcraft that I know of that summon "battle" or "fighting" pets.
Those are pets that will actually aid you in battle and not just stand uselessly by your side. Generally, they are not incredibly powerful on their own, but they do provide valuable assistance under a lot of circumstances, and the summoned pets are usually very cool.
I will be giving as many relevant details about the different minions as possible although I have not been able to test them all out in Classic myself (some are not available yet either). Instead, I have had to rely pretty heavily on old database comments from which I have most of my information on damage values, HP, spells etc.
I hope you will enjoy the video!

Peasant caller and cannonball runner are a must have in AB.
Both provide spell push backs and both can help prevent flag caps.
They are also on different cooldowns so you can cast both at the same time.
Those are good points. I didn't know they were on different cooldowns as well - that's good information. Some of the items share cooldowns and some don't.
Nice vid m8

Thank you hehe :D Glad you enjoyed it!
I did the Timbermaw grind in classic. It was a long 80hrish grind, but being (to me knowledge) the only horde on my server is cool. And the world yell from Thrall is a nice touch too.
Damn, yeah, that's pretty long. I think the reward is very cool though (although I've never used it myself). I didn't know Thrall would yell your name, so that's a very nice touch like you say.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Yeah it was fun. Though now that I think about the whole process. You have to be in Org to turn it to thrall. So the yell he does might be more like a head turn in yell. Of course I have no evidence, just thinking about it. Also pardon awful English on first post. And like the videos, keep it up!
@@shutinshogun Hehe, no problem man. Yeah, I thought that was what you meant with the yell - like it's an Orgrimmar-wide yell I guess you could call it. Still cool!
Awwww, what about the epic sword from ST that summons a whelpling!
Damn, how could I forget about that one...
Shit, I need one of those Wank-wished Tentacles of C'thun...
it was really interesting =)
Very glad you enjoyed it :)
The grinch could it be used for raids ? Because having 30-40 extra dps attackers could be useful in some fights
I think it could be used quite succesfully. I've been using the skeleton from the Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire myself - summoning it before a boss fight and switching to another off-hand just before we pull. The small problem on some fights is that you need to take damage from the boss before the skeleton starts to attack (at least when you're a caster and standing some distance back - it might work differently for melee). Since the wording on the Grimoire and Mechanical Greench is the same, I would guess the Greench works similarly. Still, it can definitely be useful I would think - both for boosting your own DPS and your raid's as a whole if a lot of people use it.
greench and yeti have this fun thing where if you summon them in dungeons they will sprint to any random living enemy in that dungeon, so if the firelord at the entrance has respawned and youre summoning it for use against ragnaros dont be surprised if you see a daisy chain of trash mobs heading to your loot during group
Austin Hensley oh god XD
why does my skeleton from Ancient Cornerstone not attack sometimes, even though I'm getting hit? I keep on losing black lotuses due to this. Really starting to piss me off.
That's really annoying. I can't imagine why it wouldn't attack. From the way you're describing it, it seems like a bug to me.
the battle chiken is very good becuse it dosnt put your other sum trinkets on cd
Thanks for sharing that information. I wouldn't have thought that.
yo møgdal nice videoer man :) fed accent !
Mange tak skal du have :)
misse sword from eranikus. + you cna hve two of them since thy rent unique for dual weild
You are right. I could have included it under "Honorable Mentions" together with the Blackblade of Shahram and the Eskhandar set bonus. The swords from Eranikus are definitely very cool.
You spanking those alliance scum at the beginning really caught my attention
Umi Wumpelsnikka .. I lost it xD 11:01
Long ass name :D
If I use the gnomish mech chicken trinket and then immediately switch it to my basic crit trinket out of the battle before boss fighting will the chicken remain fighting for me?
Yes, you should definitely be able to do that. That's what I do with the Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire (off-hand). I summon the skeleton and switch to my normal DPS off-hand, and the skeleton remains for some of the boss fight. I haven't tried the chicken trinket, but I would guess it works the same way.
Is there a video for any tbc added?
Unfortunately I've stopped making videos for the time being.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 that's ok man. Thanks for this one, hope your sabatical is relaxing.
Are all of these compatible with warlock and/or hunter pets kept simultaneously?
I know that at least some of them are, but I can't answer for all. I would guess that they all allow you to have your class pet up at the same time although it might need to be resummoned after you summon one of your non-class battle pets.
If i remember correctly ... the Cleanst Timerling will be at your current level ....
Judging from old database comments from both 2005 and 2007 it should be level 7, but I haven't tested it in Classic myself.
Nice video mate :)
Thank you man, happy you liked it :)
I think you missed the compact harvest reaper
Oops, yeah, I completely missed that one. Thanks for pointing it out. My mistake!
Is it possible to summon engi pets in lower level battlegrounds? Like if I get 39 and level to top engi skill, can I run around WSG with a level 63 pet?
Yes, you should definitely be able to do that. It can be very powerful for detecting players in stealth since the pet can be so much higher level.
Moegdal's WoW Videos i read on the wow wiki that the pet apparently has the same hit points as the “original” level - not sure what they mean by that, but I’m guessing the health and ap is calculated from the level of the caster. The actual level should still be calculated from engi skill though, so you’re right - it should be great for detecting stealth.
@@Jesse3beards I guess the Dragonling would be too strong if it had the HP and damage of a level 63 hehe, so maybe it makes sense that they're calculated based on the "original" level / the level of the character who summons it or whatever it means.
Still, the stealth-detection part is definitely invaluable!
Explosive Sheep, Target Dummy, Dire Maul Thornling, Compact Harvest Reaper
You're right! Those could/should have been included as well.
I Tink dis gai iz daynish, gais.
Lotus at 16:17....
Can hunters summon these as well as having a pet?
For the Glowing Cat Figurine, I know using the item will dismiss your pet, but you are able to resummon it and have two pets. I don't know how it works for all the items, but I am almost certain they all allow you to have your class pet active as well.
who is your daddy and what does he do
Is it you, William Wallace?
Please speak Danish or English.
