Not gonna lie, it was kind of fun watching someone do to Ostapenko what she normally does to her opponents. Loud screams and winners from all parts of the court. A taste of her own medicine!

Cristian gives me Halep vibes ! I had to give it a second take ! A great player but she made mistakes that almost cost her, but she played exceptionally well !

Just because she is from Romania?? Style of game is completly different, they are so different when hitting their shots, and Halep is 100 times more defensive and more introvert.

Jelena is something else. She lives and dies by painting the lines and challenged two calls that weren't even close. Then reacts to Cristian's close calls as if she's the one who's getting lucky, not her.

@@alfred1243 She wanted to see the Hawk Eye at the very least. The replay showed on multiple occasions that what she thought she saw wasn't very close to the line at all.
@@anacap007 Well, it's silly, it's not going to change anything. More likely, she tried to mess the opponent's rythm. Didn't know they allow challenges on tournaments with no line judges. It's a waste of time.
This girl has a really good way of opening the court and her angles are just good amazing keep it up

True.. I feel bad sometimes cause I see her struggling mentally and idky.. at least today it was a way better fight even tho she wasn't really feeling it and she tried really hard..

Great match from both women, Christian almost sounded like Venus Williams, so happy with the way she played. As for Austopenco, she is still very immature and deserves every loss she receives!!!

Never seen Cristian play before this girl is on fire, and to all Ostapenko fans complaining abt her consistency should know that she lives on short balls she can't play her game when her opponent's return the ball with dept. So stop complaining.
I can't belive Jaqueline played at such a level,I really hope to see her keeping up the good work tomorrow with Kuznetsova.

Ostapenko is good on attacking but need to work on her serve and her defense... Christian is so pretty and her backhand crossroad is quite amazing... Congrats to her.. It was good game though...
That's the thing with Jelena. Consistency. In the previous game was awesome fantastic and won easily she could not lose. Today not so good not so fantastic she did not believe it so I am gonna miss her smile of the cutie that smiles only if she wins but nevertheless, she lost the game no mood for smiles and stuff, and next time Jelena you can do this, and congrats to Jaqueling she won fairly.

@Einars Dubrovskis he is a ragged, uneducated child who has not learned to behave even up to this age. she already has some seniority in the WTA but is not very educated yet
Ostapenko still has some game, but she is playing brain dead right now, just hitting with power to the other side, it does not matter if she is in a good day, if the opponnent is doing well with her shots, she just keep going. When she Won Roland Garros, was something like that, but she was on fire. The days have changed, and she need to adjust or she will stay on this roller coaster the rest of her career

No, this is Cristian’s style she always screams as Gasanova and Rakhimova that are also still in the tournament :), to be honest I am a supporter of screamers :)

Probably because people haven’t seen enough of her yet and the highlights don’t really explain how much she celebrates as they only show the great points which most players would celebrate.

I was going to write about Ostapenko`s attitude but the folks beat me to it. She is really annoying, the faces she makes when she looses. Cristian is pretty. I am really glad for her. Today she matched Ostapenko`s aggressiveness and beat her in consistency. Hope to see more of her at big tournaments.
The level of meaninless shrieking is almost on par with Sorribes-Tormo...
Not meaningless, it helps hide the sound of the ball coming off their raquets, and is god damned annoying to listen too. Some players scream comes several seconds after they hit the ball...even worse.
