Serena played competitive tennis well into her late 30s under his coaching too. Her variety and technique improved and helped her to keep up with the younger girls.
Her movement and backhand are noticeably improved. I think Patrick having coached Serena is helpful, both Serena and Naomi's games are built around the same huge weapons, serve and groundstrokes, Patrick had a decade working with a player with similar game.
When Osaka lost the first set..I just had a feeling she wasn't gonna lose, because of that ball striking (it's not to much power and it's not too small). She's found the balance again. I hope😢😂

Putintseva was giving petulant vibes throughout the match, particularly when she was losing our point and at the end at the handshake. Does not come off as a very gracious competitor. I’ll take Osaka with all of her strengths and limitations any day of the week.
