Glad you found us. I promise the editing/audio get better. 1st time in the ocean and to this date still one of our hardest sails 😳. Thanks for watching.
have you addressed the water proofing of the butterfly hatch? I put thick foam in the groove on the top part but wonder if it needs more contact area. Thanks for this video, enjoying all of them..
Hi Dave. We have just about got her waterproofed. We replaced all the glass and re bedded them. We put foam around the base at the deck. I'll send you a picture. So far its really held up great. Waterproof with the exception of taking massive waves on the beam 🤦🏼♀️
You guys are awesome. I had forgotten about the same kind of waterfall we had inside our boat when crossing from NC to Puerto Rico. Thanks for sharing the good and the bad.
It seriously still makes me wide eyed just thinking about it. Nothing like a billion gallons of water pouring into your home to make you feel like you are truly living a wild crazy adventure 😜. Thank you for all the support! Cant say it enough. It means alot.
Enjoying your voyage as you head south. We plan to do this as we get our boat ready to cruise south. Covid has set us back to next spring we think as numbers are on the rise again :( but we enjoy following other cruisers heading down the Erie Canal. What time of year did you head out? Anything you would do differently?
Hi Sandra. Thanks so much for all the support. COVID has certainly caused all sorts of crazy new plans. We left Sheboygan WI Early Sep. It was pretty perfect timing. The Erie canal goes to reduced hours and the towns are a bit quite, but we loved it that way. I really cant think of anything substantial we would change. It was an incredible part of the trip. Make sure to give yourself time to slow down and see all the canal has to offer. Fair Winds!! If you have any questions along your journey dont hesitate to reach out.
Hi Erik! Always great to hear from our midwest comrades. The trip from Sheboygan Wi to the Start of the Atlantic took us almost 1 month do the day. We got a really late start in the season and had to move quick to '"beat the weather"🙄Oops
@@FourSheetsToTheWind Sheboygan that's a fun name.. - Anyways, uh, I had a few hits a few years ago. Uh, that's why, you know... - Polka, Polka, Polka? No? Twin Lakes Polka. Yamahoozie Polka, a.k.a. Kiss Me Polka. Polka Twist. - These are songs? -Yeah. Yeah. We... Some fairly big hits for us. You know, in the early '70s, you know? -Oh. - Yeah, we sold about 623 copies of that. - In Chicago? -No. Sheboygan. Very big in Sheboygan. They loved it, you know...
Actually I like the music. Popul Vuh mix I think. Good retrospective on the passage. Tides / Currents - big change from the Great Lakes, I'd guess. Though sub-zero temps, big waves - no question, Lake Superior is preparation for NF / Greenland / Scandinavia / Arctic sailing should that be on your plan somewhere ;)
A very good video... But internal mics... sucks. Saramonic SR-XM1 omnidirectional mic with XM1-WS deadcat. A very good and affordable mic for smartphones and gopro... Good for walking and talking, close quarters and interview/documenting style videos.... Both for around $35 on amazon... Just a friendly suggestion...
Hey thanks RE. Ill be the 1st to admit my volume control is a work in progress. Shortly after shooting this we did get a better mic. Thank you for the mic suggestion. Ill look into it whenever we are somewhere we can get mail again. I just released a new video love your feedback on the sound. Thanks!
Just found u guys. Sounds like a great post-sail summary. Wish I could have understood more of it. Audio …. whew!
Gotta lot to watch to catch up. 🍺

@@R.E.HILL_ Yep thats the spot!
Music in the background makes what you are saying in the latter part of the video difficult to hear.
Thanks for the feedback. Sound quality is NOT my strongpoint 😬Any thoughts on the recent video?
@@FourSheetsToTheWind they're quite good
