Thanks for sharing. I’ve been through a cat 5 in my house. Watching your husbands face I know exactly how he was feeling. This year I fulfilled one of my hurricane preparedness projects, I bought an RV. I live in south west Florida. If we have one coming my way I batten down the house, pack up the cats and get out of the way. Enjoyed your video. 🦋💞
I live on a sailboat since 8 years on the westcoast of British Columbia and been through some stuff but *wow* that cyclone you had to deal with ...! Glad you and the boat are ok! Thanks for sharing!
Wow you Aussies are a tough bunch !!! I've been moored on my boat and been hit with a micro burst with top winds at 80 knots It threw my little 30 footer on her side while it flew my dingy (with motor attached) like a kite on a string. The whole thing only lasted maybe 10 mins, but it scared the shit out me !!! But to be out there, in it for 3 days, thats just unimaginable. I think the footage you shot was outstanding, but I also know it can never really recreate the actual sound and fury. You both impressive people and certainly showed tremendous GUPS ( GRACE UNDER PRESSURE ). I can't adequately express my admiration for your very smart storm tactics and seamanship, but most importantly how well you managed your fear and there was a lifetime of fear in those long days and nights. God bless you and well done !!! I'm just so grateful you, and the others there with you, made it out safely. That sound will be forever in your ears and that grip on your heart, but man "like good old bricks you took the kicks". we've all heard how important a positive attitude is in the face of danger well you'll see that attitude in spades here. you saved your boat and she saved you.
Oh thank you Peter for your kind words. We are a Kiwi and an Aussie - makes a good combo :) You're spot on when you say 'you saved your boat, and she saved you'... It is quite challenging when weather 'hits' you - and about the time when the trust between people and their vessel grows. You just have to know that if you've given her the love, she will come through. Your experience sounds delightful - I hope you got your dinghy back!
Wow. This is by far the best footage of a cyclone I've ever seen in terms of what it's like to be there. I've been in a couple on land, and once, had the eye pass directly over me, which is just like they say -- dead calm and clear, inside a circular wall of clouds, knowing that the full force is going to come again in a few minutes. WELL DONE! Well prepared, and a great video. You deserve an award. Amazing!!!
Ha Yes, I have to say that I was the first to leap under shelter once the NE winds started to kick in after the EYE Shaggybreeks - it was brutal! I wrote an article about it which people have enjoyed. You can find it here: www.svsarean.com/single-post/Our-Extraordinary-Experience-with-Tropical-Cyclone-Debbie-in-The-Whitsundays .... Great to have you on board!
We did indeed! So glad you enjoyed our video - I have just posted a live radio recording made during that time on our facebook page if you are interested check it out on facebook.com/sailingsvsarean
Amazing footage of you're survival and thanks too for the video's that showed the storm at it's worst and you two at your best. Hope you will continue to show video's of your sailing and what it entails to sail in this day and age. Good show at they used to say and maybe still do, but whatever the saying, a great, great video and hope you can make more. Thanks again and always.
I have been on the edge of my seat for days waiting for Ep. 3 and had just about given up! Thanks so much for giving us a real taste of the nasty weather a TS can deliver and how to weather it best-a bit of good seamanship and a bit of luck seems like!
Hey thank you so much for checking back in on us. We don't always have reliable internet which can make uploading challenging - but we are aiming at a new vid every fortnight if that helps! Yes we felt very happy with our prep - and had luck on our side. I didn't get great footage of it, however about 200m from us there was a long strip of mangroves (say 80metres long) completely ripped out of the ground - so yes - lucky is the word :) If you subscribe and click on the 'bell' on the top right, you will receive notifications of our vids so you won't miss out. Happy days!
Great vid, you really showed the brutality of a cyclone. You of course made the most important decision of heading to the mangroves early enough to get a good spot. Mariners, other boats and land are the natural enemy at a time like this. I am amazed how many boat still had jibs on furlers. rule number one is remove excess windage... I guess some people have deep pockets. We are glad you survived to sail another day, cheers, Russell & Malene
Thanks Russell. Glad you enjoyed our vid - it was pretty out there at times trying to capture the footage! Wishing you both well and hope you keep following ;)
Such experienced yachties ... you make me proud to be an Aussie sailor in the way that there's never any drama or theatre. I know that feeling where you've done everything possible to prepare, however Mother Nature will ultimately make the call on how you and your yacht come through. Thanks for sharing the vulnerability so honestly .... I felt like I was onboard with you.
Wow! So glad all three of you were okay, and the other vessels too. So sad to see the devastation, brought tears to my eyes watching! Thanks happy travels!
Great job filming, and looking after your lovely boat. It brought back memories of sitting through TC Winstone in Fiji . That noise and the constant buffeting of the wind - and we were in a concrete house. It must have been something else where you were. Awesome job filming the aftermath. We had no idea it was like that.
Thankyou. I was in Fiji years ago and remember talking with a local who was describing the building as being built to flex in these storms. Great idea!
Wow! Nice move to move to the river. As a kid our family lived in Guam and I spent the night under a bed as Typhoon Karen came through, over 200mph winds. I can relate to the scary winds and damage. You have a great attitude!!
Very good job! The wreckage was heartbreaking. So glad you went into the mangroves. Fair winds to you both. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. A great decision to use 'nature' to 'defy nature'. Being in such a narrow creek you've avoided being run into and limited the destructive forces of fetch. It was a brave decision, but the right one as it turned out.
Yes we were lucky to have found that spot that's for sure. I feel for those in the Carribean who have lost so much recently. They seem much less protected over there...
Two brave sailors you are. Your experience paid off well. Glad you are safe and your boat is good. Thanks for sharing the proper way to ride out a blow. Your video should be required viewing before buying a boat.
Thanks David - yes, as lovers of yachts it was heartbreaking to see so many damaged. We hear quite a few boats were just taken to the dump - let's hope someone can make use of the wasted parts - and that others get rolling again!
How scary! We left North Carolina this summer and I'm glad we did! No damage to our boat, thankfully. Many sad human stories though. Happy that you came through ok
It brings a satisfying feelings to have to see your shelter/boat survived a storm of this magnitude and kept you safe... 👍 ***edit: feels sad for the other boats... 😢
That's the only detailed coverage I've seen of the aftermath from the cyclone. Its like there's been a media black-out on Airlie Beach to stop visitors from getting discouraged. And yes very sad to see the number of boats damaged, you folks did the right thing hiding up the creek. Its surprising anyone would leave a boat on a mooring anywhere around Airlie and Shute with heavy whether coming. Its one of my favorite places I know the area recover.. Great video!!!
This was fun. Thank you for sharing this video! It was almost like I was there with these people. I do love a good storm. Specially when you are on a boat..
Great job tying off so many lines.. you guys did good, and your boat is a strong one! Darren calling out the storm! Way more ballsy than me! Hahaha. Super cool footage.. 👍Thanks for sharing!
Well, it helped that your style survived the storm... then again, your storm strategy was great. I'm sure you can expect a few hundred more boats in the creek with you next time. You may find this amusing: It took me a few minutes to figure out you were not in Florida where a New Jersey USA guy would expect to see mangroves. The hills were the first clue, not the spoken English. Then again, I didn't remember a "Cyclone Debbie" recently either...
A Mascia Ah I see. Yes Hurricane Season is proving to be a nasty one this year, the land must be very low lying. Yes we were very lucky to have those hills, they gave us quite a lot of shelter! We are soon to continue North up the coast then out to the Solomons - we hope you keep following along - we're pretty excited about the places we will visit!
Spent an afternoon and night on my beneteau 44 in my pen at subic bay yacht club last november during a typhoon that passed 60 kms from us. Spent the morning checking and adding mooring lines and taking down boom tents and deck covers and checking all ropes and anything loose. It arived with heavy rain and high winds. That night was just pure noise. Water bucketted down but wind noise was the most disconverting. Imagination on strange noises ran wild. The only leak was the hatch cover my double bunk in the bow cabin dripped at odd times on my feet. Af few boats did not take covers off and had tears but little damage. Noise was incredible.
It was a bit of a blow for sure. I’m still amazed my old house survived the bloody thing. No way I’d have liked sitting on a boat through it. Well done guys.
You two have shown that commonsense, experience and a health dose of caution can save ones ship. It was too bad that so many others have not reached that level of competence. Thank you for showing us your competence.
Hey... someone's boat drug anchor, swung against mine and badly dammed her. Insurance totaled her. I am, however, enjoying the extra cash these days. That same boat ruined about 20 boats total... some of them went under.
Amazing footage, two very brave soles, this is what we experience here in Key West every time a tropical depression or a hurricane comes through, problem down here is very few places to move your boat to a protected area, we just move up the keys and find some back water creek deep enough and tie off to the mangroves and enjoy the rollercoaster ride.
Yes we we're lucky to have somewhere good to go - it was extremely protected in there - I would have been very concerned to be anywhere else. Other vessels that went into bays ended up high and dry which is very sad. It is kinda fun for those who enjoy edge of their seat experiences!
Newbie here, that was just insane what a ride out, so glad the mangroves trees you tied to had strong root base otherwise wouldn't have seen this extreme video, like the long format the lightning footage was cool, what a rememberble video haven't been through a hurricane in some time
Hey Steve - yes I'm just editing our next video and it seems to pale somewhat in comparison ;) So glad you enjoyed our footage - please keep following along!
Don't know a thing about sailing nor interested, but I watching you two laugh in the face of kaos. You guys are amazing thank you for all the amazing video...
Just found your channel. Great storm footage. I have been through many hurricanes in Louisiana, and you are brave to ride a big one out on the boat. You are troopers!
Thank you Joey. To us, we had no other choice. We had to protect our girl - she enables us to live out our dreams! We hope you follow along and enjoy our travels :)
Wow, yaw definitely made the right decision to go moor your boat where you did. I would have been a bit unnerved by the storm, more than you guys appeared to be anyway lol. The devastation of Shute Harbour and all those boats was massive and so sad. I am glad you guys fared the storm well, sorry for those that didn't. Can't wait to see your future videos, hopefully not as turbulent as the last two. Smooth Sailing, Steve
Hi Steve, yes it was pretty intense on many levels. Uploading our next video today, so should be out tomorrow. You might be bored (ha!) we enjoy a beautiful smooth sail :)
I know! And it was about that time (flying dinghy) that we were asked to paddle downstream to assist two of the other cruisers who had broken lines. We couldn't imagine how we would even untie her at that stage! (If you're interested I wrote a more in depth article about it on our blog... check 'www.sailingsvsarean.com/blog', or click on the link... www.svsarean.com/single-post/Our-Extraordinary-Experience-with-Tropical-Cyclone-Debbie-in-The-Whitsundays
Sailing SV Sarean , your site at wixdotcom appears to be down...blown away?. no serious, this is both highly educational and scary stuff. definitely going to read your blog when site is up again. I was thinking, what if one would have let down the dinghy, actually and fill it with lots of buckets of water . is that safe? thx for vid and Fair winds!
Hey Camiel. The best thing to have done with the dinghy would have been to deflate it and stow it below, or lash it on deck. In this scenario though we chose to leave it it its davits. The reason for this is that we knew we wouldn't have much time (tide wise) to get out of the creek at the end of our stay, and wanted to have the tender immediately available to turn Sarean around in the creek.
Not sure about the website. I just check on a couple of devices and clicked through on the link in the comment above - and it all seemed to work. If you have any more probs please let me know and I will buzz wix. Thanks so much for your feedback!
New sub here too... It wasn't luck, it was great judgement! Distant Horizons did a video on their stay in a mangrove clump during a hurricane in the Caribbean. They went bow to and each shore line was webbed into 3 mated lines and each was fastened to a separate tree. Take a look, it is different from being in a creek(best protection). They had to anchor the stern but they remained secure. I believe everyone seeing your vlog will agree we would sail with you anytime and to anywhere...
Thank you David. Yes I have seen the DH footage - some great tips there and so good that we have this video avenue for sharing our experiences! Each situation is different and actually what was very different about TC Debbie was that she was so big and moving so slowly. It meant that she packed an even worse punch on the rear end than one would expect, which some of the chaps down the creek weren't prepared for, having only tied bow and stern lines. So yes, if you are watching a storm, watch how big she gets and make preparations accordingly. Actually, just tie the heck out of everything - she was originally going to be a Cat 2 or 3 - so you never know!
First video I’ve watched where you were actually in a real hurricane.with 70 or more wind and hard rain. The footage was great and you could tell by the boat leaning and dancing all over too.New subscriber and hope to catch up on your other episodes 👍👍
That must be heart breaking to see your place of living destroyed like that. Nice job on the video and hats off to your courageousness during the storm that had to have been quite frightening.
The sound is deafening I can't have imagined what that must have been like....this is my first video . An to see how u lock eyes with each other saying so much whilst saying nothing at all !!!! I see both ur determination to see this thru in your faces.. I am so glad you made it.. But so very sorry those who didn't!!!🤘❤😊⛵🌞🌴❗
Sailing SV Sarean 'Tis indeed! Would be interested know a bit about your sailing background and history and perhaps what you did before you took to the sea! Also, what are your short-term/long-term sailing plans? Looking forward to learning more. Be well!
Hey CRS, you can read more about us on our website 'www.sailingsvsarean.com'. We are pondering to host a RUclips Live Chat within the next month so hopefully you can join us there! As to our sailing plans, we just have a couple of projects to complete in the Whitsundays and then we head up to the Louisiade Archipelago and Solomons... Exciting! Not sure after that - we tend to wander as the wind takes us ;) Fair winds!
DAMMITALL ! ! ! Thank what ever God or Lucky Coin you believe in . That must have been not nice. Two Skippers making like you have ice in your veins . But your eyes told us. I feel so sorry for all the folks that lost so much. Their homes; wet and dry; business. and lives. BTY, I like your small clip using Mother Nature's Strobe Light. Stay safe .
Hey Brien! That lightening storm when on for well over 12hours - amazing and humbling all at once. Glad you enjoyed it. We'll see you in the next video.
I sat in my 1997 3/4 ton 4x4 ford truck in 100 mph gusts straight on hurricane charlie orlando fl 2004, and my 8000 lb truck would slide in the grass in the field from the gusts, terrifying. Peeling grass of the ground stripped the trees bare bent stop signs to the ground, lasted 45 minutes, don't mess around with 100+ mph winds because nothing last very long. let alone strikes from flying objects. Glad your ok. Life changing experience.
Mother nature at her finest, the boats being destroyed is not so bed if no one lost there life, boats can be replaced but loved ones can't. Sailing is a great pleasure that comes with danger.
Wow after seeing all the destruction of the aftermath. You guys where truly blessed to get through that without harm. Amazing and like you said. So sad. :(
While I don't argue your very lucky.... you're also very skilled, and smart to make the right preparations to weather that storm as you did. I would have also put my dinghy outboard aboard, and deflated the dinghy... as well as removing the solar panels.. but you survived so its all good.
That was awesome, thanks for the ride along. Wow, what a great call to head to the mangroves.. praise the Lord - Surry Virginia USA
Thanks for sharing. I’ve been through a cat 5 in my house. Watching your husbands face I know exactly how he was feeling. This year I fulfilled one of my hurricane preparedness projects, I bought an RV. I live in south west Florida. The mangroves saved not only your boat but also your lives. That cyclone was nasty.
I live on a sailboat since 8 years on the westcoast of British Columbia and been through some stuff but *wow* that cyclone you had to deal with ...! Glad you and the boat are ok! Thanks for sharing!
This is one of my all time favorite videos, thank you for sharing it. Hope y’all are still doing good .
We are a Kiwi and an Aussie - makes a good combo :)
You're spot on when you say 'you saved your boat, and she saved you'... It is quite challenging when weather 'hits' you - and about the time when the trust between people and their vessel grows. You just have to know that if you've given her the love, she will come through.
Your experience sounds delightful - I hope you got your dinghy back!

I wrote an article about it which people have enjoyed. You can find it here: www.svsarean.com/single-post/Our-Extraordinary-Experience-with-Tropical-Cyclone-Debbie-in-The-Whitsundays .... Great to have you on board!
shaggybreeks m
That lightning means intensifying tropical cyclone and intense spiral rain band
You two in the lightening....PRICELESS!!!!
OMG!!! That was incredible! Glad you two survived that brutal storm and thank you for sharing such an experience. You've Lived To Sail Another Day!
We did indeed! So glad you enjoyed our video - I have just posted a live radio recording made during that time on our facebook page if you are interested check it out on facebook.com/sailingsvsarean
Miss both of you , The month is not same , and you both ha\ve that look in the eye. Bumpy rides can be quite , ☺

Thank you Jay - more to come :)
Where is this creek , I'm staying coming season ?
Wow! So glad all three of you were okay, and the other vessels too. So sad to see the devastation, brought tears to my eyes watching! Thanks happy travels!

Great video. Compelling viewing - right the way through. So glad you made it OK. Thanks for posting.
Very good job! The wreckage was heartbreaking. So glad you went into the mangroves. Fair winds to you both. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thank you Marcia. Yes it was hard to see all the wrecked yachts - also the devastation on land. Very humbling. Thank you for following along!
Glad your safe and thanks for manning the camera during such a horrific time.
+promaster185 THANK YOU!
Great video thanks for sharing glad you're ok
Greatest storm on a boat I've seen. Enjoyed every minute of it. Salute to u and ur family. I'm from philadelphia but love that type of life.
Ow boy i love storms like this but than at anchor close to shore rather than open seas !! Enjoy the Ride thank U JESUS !!!
Your hubby always has his hand on his JUNK! Holding on for life.
I am amazed that your dodger and bimini stayed on.
Mfanawemkosi Fakudze that’s what I thought
And bimini doesn't move at all despite the wind and "horizontal" rain, I don't get it...
I believe I would send a gift to whomever sewed your bimini and dodger. They did a good job!
Glad to know that you made it through the storm safely! I can't get over the sound of the wind! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I know Brian - I can't still hear it in my mind when I think back at times. Nature truly is amazing!
You folks did so well to find shelter for you and your boat during Debbie! Great job!
You are brave folks. Great video. Thanks
+Terry G Thanks so much for watching Terry!
Many thanks for the video sharing.
Amazing and scary. I'm glad all are OK as well as the boat. Safe travels.

Sitting here in the comfort of my CapeTown home I was thrilled to share your video, Congratulations on your wise move to moor in the mangrove creek
Two brave sailors you are. Your experience paid off well. Glad you are safe and your boat is good. Thanks for sharing the proper way to ride out a blow. Your video should be required viewing before buying a boat.
Thank you Thomas. So glad we have been able to share our experience with you.
Thanks For Taking Your Time
really well done on how you tied everything down, totally sux for all those lost dreams.
Thanks David - yes, as lovers of yachts it was heartbreaking to see so many damaged. We hear quite a few boats were just taken to the dump - let's hope someone can make use of the wasted parts - and that others get rolling again!
Amazing footage. So wise of you to prepare and make the decisions you did.
Thank you Rich. Keep watching for more!
How scary! We left North Carolina this summer and I'm glad we did! No damage to our boat, thankfully. Many sad human stories though. Happy that you came through ok
Thanks for sharing your experience. And thank you for not adding a bunch of music. It’s much more interesting to hear the storm!
Subbed!
AGREE !
Agree indeed. Very nice video. And how relaxed the two of you are. Such cool people. Would love to join the two of you on a sailing trip 😉😁😀
Which creek is this , I'm staying next season!
Wow, pretty wild. Thanks for the video!
It brings a satisfying feelings to have to see your shelter/boat survived a storm of this magnitude and kept you safe... 👍
***edit: feels sad for the other boats... 😢
Great audio for a quick snooze
Can’t beat the sound of rain hitting

... wow indeed, brilliant vids, thank you
+charles paton It's a pleasure Charles! So many lessons in nature ;)
One thing I've learned in my life is I'll never say is that all you have to a hurricane but I'm glad y'all made it through it okay.
Thank God you are safe for another sailing adventure.
Hard core guys! Glad to see you safe and well. Cheers!
Thank you Henry - stay in touch!
A very interesting Vid, a good learning experience going through that Cyclone and coming out unscathed.
Absolutely amazing video, you guys captured mother nature at it's worst first hand... spectacular. Glad that you survived and came out unscathed.
Glad to see you guys survive. Good video. A few lessons to be learned.
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful boat. Great video. Thank you. .
wow that is awesome! Thank you so much for filming it but so sad to see the complete devastation. Well done for taking precautions and surviving
So glad you enjoyed our film - please keep following!
Wow such devastation. Glad you are both safe and your boat is in one piece. Keep safe
+ray bignell So are we Ray! Yes storms can make for tragedy thats for sure! Thanks so much for watching!
This was fun. Thank you for sharing this video! It was almost like I was there with these people. I do love a good storm. Specially when you are on a boat..
Best place to ride out a storm on a boat! Great vid, y'all take care!
Al Martinez Thanks Al - see you in the next video!
Great job tying off so many lines.. you guys did good, and your boat is a strong one! Darren calling out the storm! Way more ballsy than me! Hahaha. Super cool footage.. 👍Thanks for sharing!

You two have shown that commonsense, experience and a health dose of caution can save ones ship. It was too bad that so many others have not reached that level of competence. Thank you for showing us your competence.
So glad you enjoyed our story Ed. More coming soon...
Hey... someone's boat drug anchor, swung against mine and badly dammed her.
Awesome video, thank you for making it 👍
Newbie here, that was just insane what a ride out, so glad the mangroves trees you tied to had strong root base otherwise wouldn't have seen this extreme video, like the long format the lightning footage was cool, what a rememberble video haven't been through a hurricane in some time
Hey Steve - yes I'm just editing our next video and it seems to pale somewhat in comparison ;) So glad you enjoyed our footage - please keep following along!
Don't know a thing about sailing nor interested, but I watching you two laugh in the face of kaos. You guys are amazing thank you for all the amazing video...
Hats off to you guys great footage. That's as close as I need to be to a cyclone.
We're with you Mick! Thanks for following along.
Wow, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Jeff!
Wow,you guys handeled this beautifully,!
Great video! I literally laughed out loud at the lightening scenes! You guy are awesome:)
+Frances Holder Haha thanks Frances! We were having a bit of fun by that stage and so glad you got a giggle.
WOW what an experience you have had, smart sailors move off moorings and find good shelter as you guys did bravo....:O)
😮 you shared great seamanship and safely watch Mother Nature get crazy she can be a little feisty but got to love it incredible 👍👍
Nice and crazy people. Congratulations for the big adventure. Hello from Brazil.
+Fabricio Novellino Hi Fabricio! Thank you! Wishing you all the best from Australia - thanks so much for watching!
Very impressive footage. It looked like your dinghy was about to fly off the davits. Just shows how good the mangroves are for protection.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
it is up again. no more maintenance pages.
Ha ha ,the lightning shots were funny😅...still...bit of storm you got there
New sub here too...
Just found your channel, just blew on board , thanks to TC Debbie
Cheers mates! You are the best!
First video I’ve watched where you were actually in a real hurricane.with 70 or more wind and hard rain. The footage was great and you could tell by the boat leaning and dancing all over too.New subscriber and hope to catch up on your other episodes 👍👍
If that was me holed up in that boat,i would be !! Shitting myself!! What a hardy brave couple you are.
I love that Ozzy ' matter of fact ' nonchalant . . ' It'll be right ' . . . . No Drama . . . .
Glad you made it through! What a heartbreaking scene. YoutTube suggested your channel Looking forward to further adventures. Greetings from NYC.
Hello all the way from NYC! Aren't RUclips lovely?! Great to have you on board and keep following ;)
Exciting! Not sure after that - we tend to wander as the wind takes us ;)
Fair winds!
Sailing SV Sarean Brilliant! Thanks for the redirect to your website. I wish you a speedy prep and cast off!
Incredible experience. Glad you are safe.
Thank you Steve.
Wow! Really captured it. We’ve ridden them out on land, but never had the guts to stay on the boat. Great video!
Wow, amazing video!!!
David Dear Glad you enjoyed it David - follow along for more!
DAMMITALL ! !
Life changing experience.
jim28fl Wow Jim there's a story you will always remember. So glad you are here to tell it!
Mother nature at her finest, the boats being destroyed is not so bed if no one lost there life, boats can be replaced but loved ones can't. Sailing is a great pleasure that comes with danger.
This totally crazy. Glad you guys safe!
Wow after seeing all the destruction of the aftermath. You guys where truly blessed to get through that without harm. Amazing and like you said. So sad. :(
I have to say we really were very well protected in the mangroves! We are also very lucky
While I don't argue your very lucky.... you're also very skilled, and smart to make the right preparations to weather that storm as you did. I would have also put my dinghy outboard aboard, and deflated the dinghy... as well as removing the solar panels.. but you survived so its all good.
Thank you Bob - welcome aboard. .... we're still pondering the dinghy :) If we were out in the open the whole lot would have come down, no question!
The dinghy would have acted as a sail and maybe over powered your anchoring lines if you were more exposed.
Definitely made the right choice ! …
I guess you feel also very very lucky.
Thanks or posting.
Thanks. Leaned some interesting engine bits...well done.
