Two Awesome people right there.....taking the time to shelter the dog in the middle of your situation speaks volumes of your characters....bless you both ❤
Great to ya'll made it through Beryl. The morning after the hurricane, a few weeks ago, Adventure Crew was filming and showed a shot of your boat and mention you made it out good. God Bless and be safe
Billy is a legend! Staying calm and motivated throughout (that's what you showed us) and using all his past experience to keep his family safe. Cheers man! As it turned out you made the right decisions. Wow.
Sierra, we all thank you so much for your love and care of Ruby. If there is anything we can do to HELP those in need, please let us know. Best episode on Utube Sailing, truly unbelievable. God Bless!
God bless you both for being such good people. I didn't understand why you went down there during hurricane season but I do now. So glad you found Ruby a home and are helping the locals. You were sent there for a bigger purpose and to make a difference and you have. Looking forward to your updates.
Textbook! I can't argue with a single decision you two made. Truly textbook decision making. Then throw a dog rescue in the mix!!!! You three are the greatest. Looking forward to another Tula Hurricane shirt. LOVE that this one helps the animals! Cheers and looking forward to the debrief!
I think you guys are awesome of all the things your doing for the island/country that was hit by the hurricane for the donations for supporting them and also thank you for saving the pretty doggy
Great job.. good on you for helping everyone, including the dog... I'm looking forward to the debrief.. tough call going south across the storm.. I believe you made the right call..
It made me soo sad when you had to leave that dog. Then, you found it a forever home. Thank you sooooo much. You two are good people. Good karma your way for sure. Fred.
so happy you guys did well in the hurricane . We sent funds for the dog clinic. So happy you both care enough to do this. Love you guys and will be here waiting on the next video. Much love from Switzerland.
What an amazing video you both have produced. You handled that issue so well and have been so prepared to handle this huge situation. Very very impressed. Such an intense and well done the pair of you
I have been so eagerly waiting for this episode. So glad you all were okay and of course you helped everyone (pup included) all around you. Your ability to stay calm and decisive in such times is a wonderful blessing. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.
Awww Ciara I just want to hug you 🤗 I'm cuddling with my puppy and hubby watching, such high emotions... Thank you so much for saving that pretty girl 🐕 God bless y'all
Sierra, you are so blessed to have Billy. He is so knowledgeable and capable. As your surrogate mother, I am incredibly nervous but happy that you have each other. I pray that you will be safe. Sending love to you both from LIZ in California.🥰⛵️😘🇺🇸💪🏻💜
Briliant just loved your observations in relation to where you were at amy point along the journey. Great trip, hadf it all, exciting and engoyable and interesting.. keep em comming.
So glad you made it through. I was a commercial fisherman in my younger days and know all too well what you went through. Being from B.C. Canada we didn't get actual hurricanes with tornado like patterns but 70 to 80 knot winds gusting to 100 are almost as bad and we usually had no place to hide. I remember one storm we rode out on the north end of the Queen Charlotte islands. We anchored off of Tow Hill with tow anchors. That storm was so bad we literally dragged both hooks a whole mile from the west to the east. The Capt. said he'd never dragged that much in his thirty years fishing. It was very scary. Being a dog person I really felt your pain Sierra. Ruby was so lucky you seen her in the water and rescued her or she likely would not have made it. I so wish I could help the cause but being on disability I can't spare even 5 bucks. But what you've done for her buys you a special place in heaven. God bless you both.
I have been waiting for this episode. Since you announced where you were heading and the weather folks announced the hurricane, I started praying for you. I am so glad you guys are safe. GOD BLESS YOU.
Of course they want him for the job. How wonderful and courageous for you to see it’s not the right time. You’ve invested your time in supporting your family. Best of luck!!
I learned so much watching this and greatly appreciate the way you've shared much of the journey and decision-making process. Everything on a boat is super safe right up until it's not! ;-) Well done you two and I look forward to your next video!
Sierra being upset, upsets me. 😭 From my point of view you are pretty spot on. I'm thankful you are safe. I look forward to the debriefing. Thanks for sharing.
@@Steve-qn8gn I feel for Billy , definitely something I would do, and my wife would be right, and the next time it would be a very similar situation, and she’d be right again🤷♂️
REALLY really enjoyed this long-form video. More of these, please! Storytelling is such a great thing when done right, and you guys did it RIGHT! Keep it up, and SO glad y’all are safe!
This was probably the best and most exciting video you have ever posted. I'm so glad that Ruby has a home and of course that you came through Beryl safely!
Firstly I love your videos. Great job. Secondly, it is so difficult to make those decisions but making them with the best info you can get helps. Getting to the south of the Hurricane was the right decision in my mind. Unfortunately, we were back home in Canada with our Catamaran on the hard in Tyrell Bay Marina on Carriacou Island. She was a heavy boat (Lagoon 421) tied down to concrete blocks and yet she was picked up and thrown 30 feet into the haulout slipway and destroyed. We have had messages from local friends who have also lost everything and they really need help but amazingly are still so positive. Thank you for your support of the local community.
Incredible proud of u both, so glad ur both very talented mature people and used that knowledge to be safe. Sierra ur a wonderful human being to rescue the dog, she looked very frightened and the look in her eyes when she was watching u, said so much. Ur legends 🇦🇺👍
I absolutely love watching your videos every week! Thank you so much. I really wish you guys would have on safety gear especially when you’re all by your lonesome on watch. I would hate to read that one of you disappeared. Many years ago, I did a circumnavigation 2 1/2 times on a 25 m motor sailor. Back then we didn’t have all of the incredibly wonderful electronics like you have today. We were lucky thave a weather fax machine that came through on the single side band radio. It certainly didn’t have The wind like you have on your computer screen and if you were lucky, the whole forecast came through. Most of the time he managed to get blasted by weather all the time. Anyway, thank you once again I’m glad you guys are all safe. As always, looking forward to the next one.
Crazy world. Beryl eye hit 28 miles from my mother’s house near Houston Texas. They lost power for several days. I live in Oregon and the stress you felt is the stress I felt realizing it’s gunna hit my mother’s house 83 yrs old and no power in Texas heat and humidity. Scared her to death, but she survived. My heart goes out to those affected. ❤. P. S. Thank you for saving the dog😊. God takes care of those who take care of others❤.
yup we saw winds nearing 90 MPH taking down trees and poles, we did not expect a near direct hit so our windows were uncovered. I am glad your mother was alright in the end as well.
Wow, what a video, probably your best so far! We were lucky to last minute change our plans spending hurricane season in Grenada to the east coast - many friends of ours went through similar experience. Some people we know have lost their floating home.. So happy you came out of this without a scratch. What an experience!
Thankfully you guys were safe ❤ that poor dog hope her legs will recover glad she has a home now ❤ I wouldn’t have had the heart to leave her but hope she will be ok.thanks for trying to help her and keep posting ❤

Of all the sailing channels I watch, you give me the most confidence in your seamanship and experience to protect your boat and your family from the worst mother nature can dish out. Great episode showing us all the details, I really enjoyed it. One suggestion I would make if you don’t mind is don’t seek shelter next to a hard structure such as that bridge next time. That’s usually what breaks your boat, instead surround yourself of as much mangroves as you can, they are really good at cushioning and usually with the storm surge you end up slightly over them.
I am very sad. I spent 2 weeks in the Grenadines in June 2000 on a 200+ ft. Tall Ship, had many great times in the Grenadines. Great to see you all survived it. Sail On.
I'm glad to know you guys are safe. When you make a decision at that late stage, prepare yourselves and stick by the decision. You are a blessed couple and you shared it with others. Well done. God Bless.
