I decided to go back and watch all of Welcome to the Basement from the beginning, in order, no skipping episodes on movies I didn't think I would like. I have to say, I'm glad this show is still going. Chad Vader is neat and all, but I like this better. It's just great to watch you two sit and talk about films and actually learn something about the films you're watching. It's how I got to buy the DVD to one of my favorite films, Tough Guys Don't Dance. Great work guys. Keep it up!
I'm so happy to have been able to enjoy the experience that is Welcome To The Basement. If I got nothing but the promise of another full year of this show for Christmas I could die happy. Thanks for the good times fellas.
It is a real testament to all of you that I not only watch a 20 min youtube video, but that I look forward to it and am surprised when it is over so quickly. I have learned a lot from this show and really do enjoy what you do, thanks.
2012 was the year of Blame Society for me. Many days did I have it playing in the background at work. More than once did I have to explain to co-workers why I was laughing so hard in the middle of the day. Thanks for bringing humor to the world. It's people like you that make the world a magical place.
I cannot stress enough how much I love this show. I was just scrolling through TikTok and a video by Kim Rhodes popped up and still after 9 years the very first thought that came into my mind was "I gotta go pitch a float..." 😆
That whole "Announce your relationship to the other person upon entering the room" ("Hey bro" "Hey sis") pet peeve is a HUGE one for me, too. You are not alone, Matt.
I've always thought this was a great show. Part of the reason for this is because I've never been a massive movie guy and I can still enjoy every episode. Keep up the good work guys! Merry Christmas!
I have to agree with Craig, I watched "Stand By Me" for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. It was an amazing movie, with good actors, and a great story. River truly was an amazing actor.
Most underrated show on RUclips. Much like Firefly and Farscape, I have a feeling this show won't find its following until it is cancelled. Very entertaining guys. Keep it coming.
John Sanford here! Thank you guys again for everything. Have a fantastic holiday season! It's been an AMAZING year for film, both in the theaters and in the basement :)
Wow, a year already? You guys are always so awesome, you keep it original. I'm always interested in what Clint, J. Pepper, Cody, McCourt, Matt, and Weird Jimmy have to say about all these good, bad, and ugly films. Matt is the foundation of the project. He ads this kind of Sloan attitude that only a Sloan could add to any type of masterpiece. Craig's the kind of spice you'll only find if you "choose wisely". Keep doin what were doin, it brings me many smiles, And an occasional dead fish.
Welcome to the Basement has become one of my all time favorite RUclips series. You all have done a fantastic job this past year and I'm looking forward to another spectacular year. You have my thanks and Merry Christmas to you!
Longer this series goes, more I'm falling in love with Craig. The chemistry between you two is so much fun to watch, and I am absolutely thrilled to hear there is going to be a season 2. If you ever get a chance, I do recommend watching Miracle on 34th Street. One of the ones I make a point to see during the holiday season.
Congrats, guys. I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 of WttB (my new favorite show on Blame Society), and can't wait to see what's next. The show has such a fun, laid-back feel to it, it almost makes the audience feel like they're on the couch watching with you. It also helps that you guys know what the hell you're talking about. Anyways, thanks for a great year and best of luck in the future.
I would love to watch the two of you critique the Rocky Horror Picture Show... that would be hilarious. Thanks so much for putting a lot of time and effort into these well-crafted episodes, they're one of my favorite things on "the RUclipss." Your effort really does come through in the quality and your intelligent opinions and witty remarks are spot on! All in all, this "customer" is very satisfied!
Came for B&B, staying for WTTB. I used to watch Siskle and Ebert back in the day. In my opinion, your show is much more interesting. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
Great first season guys! In the spirit of the holidays id like to recommend to you the 1992 classic Home Alone 2: Lost in New York starring Macaulay Culkin.
you guys really have personalities that complement each other..matt is my favorite, especially in beer and boardgames...w adam too funny, trying to get more subscribers for you..thanks
Good work as always guys. I could watch an hour of this every week...and if my masterplan works out im gonna pay you to do it! In the meantime please watch "Beyond the black rainbow" already. If you liked the last third of 2001:ASO you will love this visually stunning piece of art.
Hey guys - just wanted jump in on the lovefest and say I really enjoy the series, and hope you keep it up. I do agree with Matt that most people don't care about the quality of a film. Same reason awful pop music is popular.
Love the show guys. It has provided me with hours of entertainment through the year, and hopefully may more to come. But dare I ask if you have seen "The Eel?" Shōhei Imamura's reluctant redemption quest film is an artful take on the human struggle with morality as shades of grey. The protagonist Yamashita is haunted by the memory of his crime, embodied by a young woman who attempts to kill herself over her own past sins. It's worth a viewing despite a rushed (possibly ham-handed) denouement.
I have commented every show since beginning, followed you since the Channel 101 submission days, and will continue to do so til I'm mentioned on Seen it!! Love the show. Been watching since the 1st episode, well, the first trailer for the first episode even. Anyways, please watch or mention Sam Peckinpah's "Bring me the Head of Alfredo Garcia" or the Doc's I recently watched: Joe Berlinger's "Paradise Lost" trilogy about the West Memphis 3. Very interesting topic. Cheers to you and yours!
So glad there will be a season 2, gentlemen. I look forward to it! (And incidentally, might I suggest WarGames: The Dead Code? Sequel to my favorite movie of my childhood that is sadly lacking in most aspects, but still has enough moments that make me happy...) See you in January, I assume!
Love your work! (W to the B) is one of the best shows Matt's put together to-date, and several of us at Schriever AFB, CO enjoy it when the bad guys aren't blowing sh*t up. (shot). Family nomenclature is not all bad, some companies tried it with the animated films Richard Adams' "Watership Down" and Don Bluth's masterpiece, "The Secret of NIMH", but yeah, otherwise you're right.
I HATE TALKING DOG MOVIES. SO MUCH. My husband thinks this makes me a heartless Grinch. But, now I say it loudly and proudly after sitting through this steaming pile of poo. Thank you for helping me proclaim my feelings to the world! Happy holidays to everyone at Blame Society. You guys make me laugh. SO MUCH!
A movie suggestion for you, when i ask my American and Canadian friend almost none of them had ever seen any of these moves (the two main actors) the movies by thease guys had always been a big part of my childhood and to this day i love them so with that having to pick one is hard but i think one of there best is. My Name Is Trinity (1970)
fun fact: they accidentally put Stand By Me and The Wizard Of Oz on neighbouring channels one night and I noticed a number of similarities; 4 misfits on a path to, ultimately, a dead body, 'lollipop, lollipop'- 'lollipop guild', etc.
A great show that's so good because it feels so organic! I would love to see you guys do one of my favorite films, American Psycho, and if you've seen it, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
thank you for creating this show, it is my favorite show on youtube next to beer and board games. You guys should watch Jesus Christ Superstar, it is one of my favorite movies and I think it would be a very interesting conversation afterwards.
"I would rather stare into the mouth of a mass grave than watch this kid act for another second."That's a box-worthy quote for sure.
That'll be the pull quote for the Criterion re-release.
There's another Beethoven movie coming out, and it has Udo Kier in it. I think that obliges them to watch it.
12:43 "goodnight typewriter...have a drink!" lol couldn't stop laughing at that XD
Happy to see this years later. The show is still great
There was some rage of sloan in this one
You poor bastards. Great episode
a tear in my eye at the end bit.
Man I laughed at this video. I love, love, love Welcome To The Basement.
I decided to go back and watch all of Welcome to the Basement from the beginning, in order, no skipping episodes on movies I didn't think I would like. Beer and Board Games used to be my favorite, but I cant get enough of WTTB. I love it.

I've been missing Nostalgia Critic, this is just as good if not better! Thanks guys, keep up the amazing work!
I'm so glad you guys are going to do another season. Its the only thing i look forward to on youtube anymore.
Great show guys! And thanks for the Christmas present! Another year of "Welcome to the Basement" to come!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!
Marvelous ending to a brilliant series
Thanks this was my first visit to the basement and I really enjoyed it. I'll be catching up with your past uploads. Great
Here's to another season of episodes! Great job guys.

John Sanford here! Thank you guys again for everything. Have a fantastic holiday season! It's been an AMAZING year for film, both in the theaters and in the basement :)
Great show in 2012. Hilarious way to end the year. Can't wait for more.
welcome to the basement and beer and board games are by far my favorite shows from blamesociety, you guys are awesome!

The gift at the end was touching :'( Thank you for the great show guys! Can't wait for the party!
Welcome to the Basement has become one of my all time favorite RUclips series. You all have done a fantastic job this past year and I'm looking forward to another spectacular year. You have my thanks and Merry Christmas to you!
I've been watching this show for years. How have I somehow not seen this episode until now?
So glad to hear that we're getting a season 2! Merry Christmas chaps!
Truly a great show guys! Can't wait for Season 2!
I showed this series to my film analysis teacher she loved it!
Meeeee? Or a black man? Hahahaha i love this show
Thanks for an awesome season guys! Can't wait for next year!
Thank you. This is probably my favorite show that BlameSociety is doing right now. Smart, funny, and I enjoy the film education.
This is Kalisey! Please Matt make more Welcome To The Basement episodes i LOVE them and really LOVE you guys! thanks

5:30 Look, everybody...it's J.Peterman!! : P
You guy are the best. looking forward to another great season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both and your crew.
Not entirely
sure why, but I really love this show. Hope to see A LOT more in the future.
Congrats, guys. I thoroughly enjoyed season 1 of WttB (my new favorite show on Blame Society), and can't wait to see what's next. Best show on RUclips. Also, nice selection of MST3K on the shelf right behind the old leather couch.
Love this show. Thanks for the free entertainment.
That was an excellent opening, loved it, and Craigs reaction to it.
cant wait for season 2!!!
God i love the mass grave line
looking forward very much to season two!!
The trailer for The Hangover part III was in the ads, laughed my ass off even before the video started! XD Still wasn't disappointed.
I am SO glad I didn't have to watch more of that film than your clips.
Thank you guy, I can't wait for next season.
love the series keep up the good work guys

I can't wait until season 2 :D I'm excited to see Craig take over the "big chair" and pick a movie to see.
Great Christmas special guys.
the They Live reference was the one of the best made this season, and there's a lot to choose from XD
Came for B&B, staying for WTTB. I used to watch Siskle and Ebert back in the day. In my opinion, your show is much more interesting. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
Best show on the internet!
This show and "Beer and Board Games" make me a very happy midgety girl. Thanks!
I definitely evaluate movies. I actually took a couple cinema classes just so I can appreciate good movies even more.
Haha! Ode to Joy and Eroica jokes! Love it! Y'all are so cultured! ^_^
You gentlemen have a lovely bromance. I imagine that this is why Craig will never be on "Beer and Boardgames".
Great first season guys! In the spirit of the holidays id like to recommend to you the 1992 classic Home Alone 2: Lost in New York starring Macaulay Culkin.
Great as usual.
Thx for a great year FOLKS.
you guys really have personalities that complement each other..matt is my favorite, especially in beer and boardgames...w adam too funny, trying to get more subscribers for you..thanks
Good work as always guys. I could watch an hour of this every week...and if my masterplan works out im gonna pay you to do it! In the meantime please watch "Beyond the black rainbow" already. If you liked the last third of 2001:ASO you will love this visually stunning piece of art.

This stuff is more magical than any Christmas movie lol
I love this show and you guys! Have you ever watched War of the arrows and The house of flying daggers?
I'm surprised there weren't any cracks about Voyager.
love the intro!!!
I have commented every show since beginning, followed you since the Channel 101 submission days, and will continue to do so til I'm mentioned on Seen it!!
Love the show. Been watching since the 1st episode, well, the first trailer for the first episode even. Anyways, please watch or mention

or the Doc's I recently watched:
Joe Berlinger's "Paradise Lost" trilogy about the West Memphis 3.
Very interesting topic.
Cheers to you and yours!
The message but was awesome XD
i am so glad matt didn't go with his original idea of having diffrent people on the coach every week because they both are awesome reviewing together
So glad there will be a season 2, gentlemen. I look forward to it! (And incidentally, might I suggest WarGames: The Dead Code? Sequel to my favorite movie of my childhood that is sadly lacking in most aspects, but still has enough moments that make me happy...)

That's like, required by any and all film student lol. Classic.

it's a shame you didn't get to watch rare exports, that is a great film.
I just watched rare exports. It's sick!
Wow I really liked this video.
A touching end :)
Add the shell game to every episode... It's a nice twist

The best club ever!

....why haven't i seen these coming up on my subscription feed. Oh well i know about them now.
A great show that's so good because it feels so organic! I would love to see you guys do one of my favorite films, American Psycho, and if you've seen it, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Admit it, there was only Beethoven under those shells :D
thank you for creating this show, it is my favorite show on youtube next to beer and board games. You guys should watch Jesus Christ Superstar, it is one of my favorite movies and I think it would be a very interesting conversation afterwards.
And they say Matt Sloan's heart grew three sizes that day.
Craig, you forgot to shut the front door. IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER! IN THE NORTHERN MIDWEST!? Are you nutso?
Not your typical upbeat animated film: The King and the Mockingbird.
I thought the same thing about the shell game!
