Myriim makes 2 of them and when you play the land, you get 2 Dragon eggs. Next you want to cast Scourge of Valkas. You get 1 trigger from Valkas and Myriim. Target opponent with Valkas BEFORE MYRIIM so Myriim can create that token, which gives you 2 more triggers of Valkas. Use them to target opponent and one of your Dragon eggs. (And yes Dragon eggs count as dragons towards Valkas' trigger). All new triggers, target your opponent and the last trigger, target a Dragon egg. Rinse and repeat this process until you're out of eggs and your opponent will indubitably die at the end of this.
Non budget: cast Sakahima of a thousand faces and copy Myriim and you have 3 Myriims on the battlefield and if you wish, cast Thassa to exile the main Myriim and then you create several more. You will instantaneously become the arch enemy.
A good budget option for this deck is Shaman of the Great Hunt. Its a 4 drop, 3R, with Haste and its a 4/2. But what makes it a good toolkit card is it's abilities. It gives creatures who connect to your opponents a +1/+1 counter and for 4 mana (2 and 2 hybrid UG) you draw a card for each creature with power 4 or greater.
holy cow how'd i miss this?! awhile back i was trying to build a "Lathliss, Dragon Queen" deck but was never satisfied with it as mono red... this is just a perfect flippin upgrade!
I've had a Miirym deck for a while and it already was doing terrible things but I didn't know about Ganax, Astral Hunter, changed a couple cards today including him and i accidently infinite comboed in my 3rd game. I had reflections of Litejara out so every dragon spell was getting copied, I had a legendary token copy of my commander on the battlefield, I had 3 Ganax's out with help from Orthion, Hero of Lava Brink. So from this point on every dragon I cast gave me 9 treasure tokens. I cast my commander which gets 2 etbs from the token copy thats already on the field, i sacrifice the real one and keep the non-legendary token copy, and then I just get exponentially more commander copies and treasure tokens for recasting my commander forever.
Irenicus's Vile Duplication - a 3U sorcery (which you can copy if you're able to) and make multiple copies of Miirym with it. Then you can make duplicate copies of said tokens, and one dragon turns into 20 dragons within a turn. For insane copying potential, I love using Will Kenrith, Swarm Intelligence, Astral Dragon, Twinning Staff, Artificer Class, and Replication Specialist. You pick the order in which you make copies, because oh LORD will they make copies.
Awesome Commander that can do some really broken things. I do think it may work better as a hidden Commander with Tiamat at the helm. You only need to cast Tiamat once then pull dragon lord kholagan for haste. Ancient Copper Dragon for ramp Miriam to double tokens Scion of the her dragon to tutor dragons into your graveyard and ancient brass dragon to get those dragons out of your graveyard either way you build it hidden Commander or not this card is brutal
I think the first think you are buying once you have the budget version is Double Major. Use it to copy Miirym, then any Flicker you have goes on the original Miirym and it's copy will then just keep duplicating her. Then when you drop other dragons you are looking at 3-4 copies instead of just 1.
I just finished this deck and it's already winning my wins with either 576 doubling seasons made or just making 300 to a thousand treasure tokens with a lot of card draw. I've decked out my whole library when I get omniscience out as long as guarding project, garruks enchantment draw card and shimmer dragon with a lot of tokens out. It's brutal and also finishes off the table with ping.
I brewed my own version of this deck and on the third game I swung for 200 damage with Miirym w/ +1 counter, Atarka x2 and Thrakkus x2 in a two player game FTW. It's super fun.
Miirym feels at bit like Omnath, Locus of Rage. Both decks build up without being a real thread and then they go off in one turn. Especially when you play a Miirym ETB focused deck. Keep up the good work :) Im always enjoying it! But you need to try and keep the talk at an understandable speed. Sometimes i have a hard time to understand you as a non-native english speaker :D
Funny, as I always run his (and many others') videos on 1.5x speed. One for each of us, I suppose. If you find his talking speed too fast, you might want to try viewing the video at 0.75x speed ( "SHIFT" + "," or set in the video options), if you can stand the drunken slur effect it tends to give people.
Play tested my Miirym deck today and was a pretty solid outing very fun commander and pretty strong looking forward to playing more games with it in the near future
My first game with miirym, I wound up with 9 copies of earthquake dragon and thrakkus I'm the battlefield, and they had haste b/c of temur ascendency. How do you like ~5000 damage per dragon? XD
Reflections of littjara is also really good in this deck. If you have miirym out, when you cast him you get a token copy, the token copy sees the original enter, creating a nonlegendary token copy. If you have a lot of mana, through say, worldgorger dragon for example, you can let the original copy die to the the legendary token created by reflections, then recast him again, now with an extra nonlegendary token copy already on the battlefield. Repeat for infinite miiryms. From there it's your game to lose, because with infinite miiryms you get infinite copies of any dragon you cast
So i built this and added the sol ring and arcane signet and some better lands, THIS DECK IS AMAZING! won all my games and was up against prosper, chatterfang, shrines, vampires, atraxa superfriends and someone thought it would be fun to play the ink treader neph deck you made before on here.
4:30 with your commander in play, you should get back 3 treasure: first the copy resolves, giving you a nonlegendary ganax = 1 treasure then the OG resolves, giving you a stack for the copy and the OG = +2 treasures
If you use the clone cards/shapeshifters to copy your commander you can use mirror box, (the legend rule does not apply to creatures control) to keep those copies, resulting in more copies of the dragons you put on the field
What's interesting is that, with creature base clone effects, you can clone Miirym still. The carr itself would die, but Miirym would still trigger and give you a NON-LEGENDARY version of itself. Keep playing clones, and you keep getting exponentially more Miiryms!
Mitch, I think you overlooked how broken Miirym is with clone effects. You can clone Miirym, and then again exponentially. Them not being non-legendary clone spells doesn’t matter much, since Miirym makes a non-legendary and after that point they do the same thing. BS: Miirym Clone Miirym. Miirym sees nontoken dragon entering (clone Miirym), Miirym makes a nonlegendary copy of that creature (Miirym), one is killed by legend rule. BS: Miirym, non-legendary Miirym Clone non-legend Miirym. 2 Miiryms see nontoken dragon entering (clone nonlegend Miirym), 2 copies are made. BS: Miirym, 4 non-legendary Miiryms (of which 3 are tokens) Dragons are a lot easier to break when you get 6 instead of 1, or even 3 instead of 2. Use the forbidden copying. Summon the hellkites.
So my girlfriend has a deck list I built for her, she ended up imprinting glass pool 6:03 mimic to soul foundry and next turn she played her commander, then next turn cast a copy of glass pool mimic from the soul foundry and made two copies of myriam and sent the original back to the command zone. Next turn she could just duplicate multiple copies
For enchantments that make this deck pop imo, Bard Class, Acolyte of Bahamut, & Lurking Predators to cheat in/ reduce the cost of my dragons as well as buffing them. Best result is to see a Counterspell war with two other players in the pod & just get like 4 dragons, (which turn to 8 if Miirym is on the battlefield) for free of those Lurking Predator triggers.
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed the infinite damage that can be dealt with the 2 Nimbleclaw Adept and just one copy of Niv-Mizzit, Dracogenius but it's pretty sweet when you pull I off. #blameeddie
I picked up a few cheap mutate creatures like Parcelbeast and Lore Drakkis to see how they work in Miirym. Mutating them onto any creature is nice for a little value, but if you mutate them onto Mirriym they take Miirym's legendary typing away, meaning you can clone her with normal clone effects, not just things like Spark Double.
@@slifer867 That's true. It's probably more cute than it is optimal, but I like the idea of making a critical amount of Miiryms. I also like finding weird ways to abuse mutate, because I think the mechanic is super interesting.
If you got Miirym sential wurm when you cast or play ganax astral hunter you get treasure from ganax astral hunter then when Miirym trigger resolve you get another ganax astral hunter it trigger it enter the battlefield creating a treasure token then the actually physically ganax would make a another treasure token from the copy enter the battlefield so you be getting three treasure when you play ganax
Omega level commanders are fun to try and make a under powered deck with as the commander themselves are just so good it alone is cEDH tier. Though down side is people will have knee jerk reactions to them as they are that strong and usually will win on their own due to the sheer value they have such as Overlord being a toolbox commander to bring any Sliver out even if you don't have the Sliver Queen infinite combos in the deck simply because once Overlord comes out there is not much they can do especially if they use Overlords effect of searching for a Sliver at the end phase before their turn. Though from what i noticed most Omega level commanders fit a theme or tribe well really strong and good ones do such as Overlord and Krenko, Mob Boss as play a Krenko deck and see how fast they try to kill you or how hard they prevent Krenko from coming out. Which again is why building a underpowered Omega level commander deck that actually functions is pretty interesting as odds are they are still going to over run the table even with all the hate thrown their way
Even though I bought this (I buy all the cheap cards day one and pick up more expensive ones as needed) and noted during previews that it was super powerful, I would have sworn that it was Bant not Temur. I think I may have been blending it with Amareth, the Lustrous as the art on both is kind of similar and they're both dragons... It's much better as Temur... 😵
From heavy testing, elemental bond, garruk's uprising and temur ascendency are definitely the strongest draw sources for miirym. Ramp-wise frontier siege and overgrowth are criminally overlooked - superior thran dynamo and worn powerstone.
with Ganax you miss spoke. you said you get 2 treasure where you would actually gain 3. As Ganax enters creating a treasure token Miirym activates making a Ganax copy, the copy sees itself enter and the original then sees the copy enter for a total of 3 treasure.
I cracked this guy on one of the 2 card booster pack out of the precons. I merged the 2 dragon decks from battle for baldas gate and aventetures in the forgotten realms. My deck looked very similar to this one. When building it I was thinking of flickering affects but I don't have much of those cards spare. I also think your deck when a little too heavy on clones. You may struggle to draw some of your clone targets. Also since you drop 2 - 3 dragons out you could end up with like 5-7 dragons on your board. Kindred summons will cheat in 10-14 dragons 😂😂
Please do a video on Alaundo the Seer soon. He's flying so far under the radar and not getting the recognition he deserves. My Alaundo deck has become more kill on sight than miirym decks in my semi-competitive meta and i want him to gain footing so i can see what other people can do with him.
If you use a clone to copy Miirym, you get a non-legendary token copy. So even though you'd have to sacrifice either the original or the clone for the legend rule, you'd then be making two copies of every dragon entering.
If you were not building on a budget, imagine soulbonding Ganax to dead-eye navigator. sac 2 treasures to flicker ganax and get more treasures and ganax tokens every time you repeat.
@@jeremyforbes7781 I use morophon an fist of suns to play free dragons. Tiamat to go get the best dragons in my deck. I also like scourge of valkas and dragons tempest. I can usually win just with direct damage from those two with all the dragons entering the battle field. 😀
It is like 6 bucks but i really like cryptic gateway it lets u just dump ur hand of dragons if u have any strong etb burn or a way to untap them that turn for combat like maybe intruder alarm with any etb draw effect u can prob dump ur entire deck onto the field
Hey Mitch, correct me if I am wrong but when you play Ganax, would you not actually get three treasure tokens? 1 for the casted Ganax which triggers off its ability, 1 for the copy which triggers off the casted Ganax's ability and another for the copy which triggers off the copies ability?
Just wanna let out that Double Major allows you to have a copy of Miirym before Non-token Miirym enters the battlefield. Giving you 3 of them~ Its also super cheap (Mana and money wise)
Some cards to reduce mana cost: Acolyte of bahamut Dragonlod's servant Dragonspeaker shaman Bard class But if you really got the money: Zodiac dragon Sneak attack
ganax gets you three treasures because the first gets itself a treasure and then sees the next come in and that one gets you a treasure itself so you get three all in all
I dont have old gnawbone, copper dragon or even half the dragons you listed but- i do have sakashima 1k and a bunch of clone flicker. Its a brutal deck design with a very lethal commander, what interests me is how do you protect miirym when we already know he will be archenemied and targeted the moment he is cast. Alot of these dragons are very high mana value and if you cant get your treasure enablers it can be slowed down. Im wanting to build something similar even tho its going to strip a bunch of stuff out of other decks lol, ziatora is biting the bullet, im thinking mutate would be pretty epic as well. I wish illuna was a dragon and may just use her to attention from miirym.
Get this boy out with a Panharmonicon to spam 2 copies of each dragon you play and get multiple ETB triggers from them is super powerful. Adult Red Dragon from last year's set was bad but with three cards it became a burn your opponents for 24 damage. Or worse, imagine three Terror of the Peaks on your board and then you play another big creature to follow it up? I play this deck and one opponent was freaking out at how broken it was with 3 Terror of the Peaks, Parallel Lives, and casting one 8/8 for a free 72 damage dealt around the pod to burn two near dead players and the one that was still at high life.
Anyone thought about using cloning effects on miirym? Clone etbs, copies miirym, mirrym triggers, creates a copy of clone (which is miirym), create a non legendary copy of miirym.
Yeah, spark double, for instance, is incredible with Miirym. You get a nonlegendary, non-token copy of Miirym which Miirym copies and bam: three Miiryms.
Just a good commander who is already in the brewers works for becoming Cedh due to the ability and ward, probably going to end up being a mid range control shell with combo beats as an option not to mention you can run both Oko and Kennan, sadly it will probably just Devolve into another breach shell.
Nimbleclaw Adept and it's token can infinitely untap the other version of itself, and one permanent... Infinite Mana, infinite potential, pseudo vigilance
This is going to be the basis for my next deck. Thought about adding Echoing Equation? Lot of great targets but assuming you’ve got even 5 creatures and you target your commander things could get interesting. Edit: also would Semester’s End work as well?

Irenicus's Vile Duplication - a 3U sorcery (which you can copy if you're able to) and make multiple copies of Miirym with it. Then you can make duplicate copies of said tokens, and one dragon turns into 20 dragons within a turn. For insane copying potential, I love using Will Kenrith, Swarm Intelligence, Astral Dragon, Twinning Staff, Artificer Class, and Replication Specialist. You pick the order in which you make copies, because oh LORD will they make copies.
Just saw the sweatshirt at the end. Much love for spreading awareness of that terrible disease this month.
Zirilan of the claw says hello!
Miirym feels at bit like Omnath, Locus of Rage. Both decks build up without being a real thread and then they go off in one turn. Especially when you play a Miirym ETB focused deck.
Keep up the good work :)
Im always enjoying it!
@@qwormuli77 Yup .. thats an idea. Thanks ^^*
I use automatic cc, and goes perfect
Play tested my Miirym deck today and was a pretty solid outing very fun commander and pretty strong looking forward to playing more games with it in the near future
My first game with miirym, I wound up with 9 copies of earthquake dragon and thrakkus I'm the battlefield, and they had haste b/c of temur ascendency. How do you like ~5000 damage per dragon? XD
"Miriim, I choose you! Use Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
What did your remove for Sol Ring and Arcane Signet. I also want to add them
4:30
with your commander in play, you should get back 3 treasure:
first the copy resolves, giving you a nonlegendary ganax = 1 treasure
then the OG resolves, giving you a stack for the copy and the OG = +2 treasures
If you use the clone cards/shapeshifters to copy your commander you can use mirror box, (the legend rule does not apply to creatures control) to keep those copies, resulting in more copies of the dragons you put on the field
What's interesting is that, with creature base clone effects, you can clone Miirym still. The carr itself would die, but Miirym would still trigger and give you a NON-LEGENDARY version of itself. Keep playing clones, and you keep getting exponentially more Miiryms!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this, and Add mirror box so you can have three
Mitch, I think you overlooked how broken Miirym is with clone effects. You can clone Miirym, and then again exponentially. Them not being non-legendary clone spells doesn’t matter much, since Miirym makes a non-legendary and after that point they do the same thing.
BS: Miirym
Clone Miirym. Miirym sees nontoken dragon entering (clone Miirym), Miirym makes a nonlegendary copy of that creature (Miirym), one is killed by legend rule.
BS: Miirym, non-legendary Miirym
Clone non-legend Miirym. 2 Miiryms see nontoken dragon entering (clone nonlegend Miirym), 2 copies are made.
BS: Miirym, 4 non-legendary Miiryms (of which 3 are tokens)
Dragons are a lot easier to break when you get 6 instead of 1, or even 3 instead of 2.
#blameeddie
Nimbleclaw adept has the worst line of text you can see on any card. "only once each turn" so sadly, no infinite combos there without extra steps
Normal clones work. The clone original will die but mirrym will still make a non-legendary token copy of himself.
@@slifer867 That's true. It's probably more cute than it is optimal, but I like the idea of making a critical amount of Miiryms. I also like finding weird ways to abuse mutate, because I think the mechanic is super interesting.
2:34 First up 😊
Definitely building this but think I might add panharmonicon to it
If you got Miirym sential wurm when you cast or play ganax astral hunter you get treasure from ganax astral hunter then when Miirym trigger resolve you get another ganax astral hunter it trigger it enter the battlefield creating a treasure token then the actually physically ganax would make a another treasure token from the copy enter the battlefield so you be getting three treasure when you play ganax
I can already see this commander going into every five color dragon tribal deck. Scary
Just finished my deck the other night. Excited to play test this (very) non-budget beast.
Wow, i got a Miiryn in draft recently. Will def make my own version of this deck soon!
I'd consider Elemental Bond (draw whenever a power 3 or greater creature enters under your control)
Doesn't say non-token...
From heavy testing, elemental bond, garruk's uprising and temur ascendency are definitely the strongest draw sources for miirym. Ramp-wise frontier siege and overgrowth are criminally overlooked - superior thran dynamo and worn powerstone.
Dragons are my newfound favorite way to play commander. Im running Klauth atm, but this card just made me realize i need a new dragon deck. Lol.
with Ganax you miss spoke. you said you get 2 treasure where you would actually gain 3. As Ganax enters creating a treasure token Miirym activates making a Ganax copy, the copy sees itself enter and the original then sees the copy enter for a total of 3 treasure.
These are the videos I love watching. More deck tech vids :) recently resubscribed because I saw you started focusing more on deck techs. Thank you :)
I had both Lozhan and terror of the peaks enter the field and get copies. It's fun
I definitely like the Omega level commander builds keep up the good work!
1. Irenicus's Vile Duplication
targeting Miirym. 2. Ganax. 3. Profit.
ganax is such an amazing dragon, I just love him in any dragon deck
I cracked this guy on one of the 2 card booster pack out of the precons. I merged the 2 dragon decks from battle for baldas gate and aventetures in the forgotten realms. My deck looked very similar to this one. When building it I was thinking of flickering affects but I don't have much of those cards spare. I also think your deck when a little too heavy on clones. You may struggle to draw some of your clone targets. Also since you drop 2 - 3 dragons out you could end up with like 5-7 dragons on your board. Kindred summons will cheat in 10-14 dragons 😂😂
Man. Either the copies aren't legendary or you get ward 2 but both just makes this guy SO brutal to play against. And no I'm not just salty lmao
Yep I agree, the ward 2 is just unnecessary lol
Please do a video on Alaundo the Seer soon. He's flying so far under the radar and not getting the recognition he deserves. My Alaundo deck has become more kill on sight than miirym decks in my semi-competitive meta and i want him to gain footing so i can see what other people can do with him.
Fucking right? A simic commander that says "tap, draw a card" is dumb enough lol
Due to this and yuriko being in my local games Contaiment Priest has to be on my decks
Honestly your vids give me so much inspiration for new decks, awesome jod thanks!!!
I'm going to lose all my friends....
Put this in my Moriphon 5 colour dragon deck. Should be awesome 👌
post a list please
i had a similiar idea but i do cloning of both Morophon and Miirym
@@jeremyforbes7781 I use morophon an fist of suns to play free dragons. Tiamat to go get the best dragons in my deck. I also like scourge of valkas and dragons tempest. I can usually win just with direct damage from those two with all the dragons entering the battle field. 😀
I made a deck with this as my commander. The last dragon I really need is Atarka, world render.
It is like 6 bucks but i really like cryptic gateway it lets u just dump ur hand of dragons if u have any strong etb burn or a way to untap them that turn for combat like maybe intruder alarm with any etb draw effect u can prob dump ur entire deck onto the field
I just converted my gruel fight club deck into a very similar brew this morning. Looks super fun!
Hey Mitch, correct me if I am wrong but when you play Ganax, would you not actually get three treasure tokens? 1 for the casted Ganax which triggers off its ability, 1 for the copy which triggers off the casted Ganax's ability and another for the copy which triggers off the copies ability?
Nevermind, I see someone else mentioned this below
Just wanna let out that Double Major allows you to have a copy of Miirym before Non-token Miirym enters the battlefield. Giving you 3 of them~ Its also super cheap (Mana and money wise)
This would have an interesting break the bank episode!
Break the bank on this one and questing beast deck
Some cards to reduce mana cost:
Acolyte of bahamut
Dragonlod's servant
Dragonspeaker shaman
Bard class
But if you really got the money:
Zodiac dragon
Sneak attack
Goblin Anarchomancer
Don't forget Urza's Incubator.
yeah, ever since I put it in my Ur-Dragon deck Ive won every game where this beauty didnt get answered
ganax gets you three treasures because the first gets itself a treasure and then sees the next come in and that one gets you a treasure itself so you get three all in all
Oh hell yeah
If you played Sakashima as Miirym, you could have three Miiryms right?
You would, Miirym is really good with clones
Don't forget Spark Double. Not to mention any strong Shapeshifter creature will also get a copy made of itself with it.
This budget deck is a perfect starting point to build into a less budget one over time it may have to be my next deck lol
Awesome video! Curious, which top 2 dragons do you usually tutor for with Draconic Muralists & their copy? Ganax Hunter & who else lol
i have a Miirym Commander, and it is the Winner on the Board! :)
Woah this deck is less than $100 on TCG player. I was expecting it to be way more
Kilnmouth dragon is an easy addition to this deck if you make it a bit more dragon heavy
I like the xmen reference, omega level mutants
Just a good commander who is already in the brewers works for becoming Cedh due to the ability and ward, probably going to end up being a mid range control shell with combo beats as an option not to mention you can run both Oko and Kennan, sadly it will probably just Devolve into another breach shell.
Nimbleclaw Adept and it's token can infinitely untap the other version of itself, and one permanent... Infinite Mana, infinite potential, pseudo vigilance
Crazy amunt of potential in this commander....
This is going to be the basis for my next deck. Thought about adding Echoing Equation? Lot of great targets but assuming you’ve got even 5 creatures and you target your commander things could get interesting.
Edit: also would Semester’s End work as well?
It's official, I know have three dragon commanders. ♥️Lathliss♥️, Tiamat now Miirym
Pretty sure with Miirym out, one Ganax sees the other etb so you make three treasure tokens from just 5 cmc and two 3/4 treasure generators
