Update, about Hungarian voices : Tiboldy Mária indeed confirmed she only sang "So this is love". The rest of the songs are performed by Pap Éva (the speaking voice). Source - Tiboldy Mária in a mail : « In the Hungarian dubbing I sang in the chor and I sang with Laszlo Csizmadia the love duet. (A szerelem). A dream is a wish … - in Hungarian is sang by Éva Pap herself. »
I really like what you did here, very beautiful ranking! We disagree on some parts, like Hebrew, Swedish, Icelandic (II) & Taiwanese, I just love how simple and dreamy these ladies sound! About Anna Rossi, while I find her quite sexy as Ariel (and the best approach, lol), I think that her strong voice works really well on Cinderella, so, she's a favourite of mine here. But yeah, I would also love to see Ariel Konstantinidi having more singing roles in her dubbing career, she could bring a very sensitive Cinderella, but I would personally love to hear her on Ariel
That was a beautiful and meticulous ranking, loved every bit of it * _ * I'm kinda used to see both of the Italian versions quite low in Cinderella's rankings and I'm okay with it. But... I'm always so triggered whenever I see the original 1950 dubbing over the redub XD Maybe to foreign ears they may sound alike so that Deddi can be more "interesting" at times, and while I get you pov, I can't really say I agree. That being said, the whole top 10 was a blast and I liked you emphasized the top 4, they're probably the best of the best in general. Great job once again ;-)
Wow such a lovely video! I love how much love, effort, and research you put into it, even commenting on the sequel voices! Well done, it was a pleasure watching 👏💖 And thanks for the 16th place, love Irina and this characters to pieces. 💜
@@denkleinriderii8872 Yes, although I don't like the new dubbing because in my opinion they should keep the cast from the Cinderella sequel and not do a completely new cast and I don't like the new song translations :"D
Very detailed ranking. Of course we don’t agree on everything, but that’s normal 😊. Would love to see more rankings from you. Oh, by the way, I reached out to Tiboldi Mária last year and she said that she was the singing voice of Cinderella and Pap Éva was just the speaking voice.
It took me time to do this ranking, next one (Belle maybe) won't be soon but yeah it really gave me the mood to ! Ok thanks for the info about Tiboldi Maria.
Couldn't even tell ya the last time I saw a ranking from you, so I'm glad for this! The editing is super simple but nice. I agree with many of your low places other than Korean which I have a strange attachment to despite it being very 'normal' Agree with Mediana, her Mulan made her overhated but she's good her good parts. I don't think I ever heard the better quality older Italian one, nor have I heard that name. Interesting. I feel the opposite about Thorunn - she's Cinderella playing Aurora, not the other way around. I would have loved to hear Mima on the sequel song! Agree with Eva-Marika connection. My #1 is on 10th for you, and that's a fine place for her :) I agree Ingeborg sounds like Ilene; I think Germany did very 'perfect' adaptations for Cinderella and Aurora, almost identical to the original. Your #1 is excellent! I also really enjoy how you just injected the 3rd movie voices into the video instead of making a separate ranking of them. It was actually quite seamless which it could have been awkward. PS: you spelled Heroine as Heroin many times....whic is an opiod drug, not a female protagonist, however someone else may have pointed that out ;P
Ohoho thanks for the "heroin/heroine" mistake haha. Yeaaaah you totally got my idea of injected the 3rd movie voices insead of making a separate ranking :) Interesting you feel the opposite about Thorunn ! And yeah for Elena Galistkaja I always think about you when I listen to her :)
For being your first ranking It's a jewel!I wanted to comment a long time ago but Well I didn't We do actually agree quite a lot here almost almost everything tbh I would just put Greek and Polish 2012 much much higher and German much much lower thank you for 21st place, yes that's exactly snobbish take Mima had but she did everything fine IMO Hope to see more rankings of you!Ariel or Snow White maybe(Animated ofc)
Ilene Woods, Dominique Poulain, and Anna Rossi are my favorites. I do wish Jennifer Hale had done her own singing in the third film, but she was able to prove herself with "Sofia the First" Also, Yoriko is beautiful as well. Disney Japan always makes sure they have an equivalent to the English.
Okay, first off I love how meticulously you judged every voice, it's been long since someone did that in a ranking. No big surprises in the low ranks, except maybe the second Italian dub being lower than the first, though tbh in the fragment that you used for Deddi I was surprised how rich and gorgeous she can sound. However I do get bothered by her strong ass vibrato. The new Arabic dub's comment was quite accurate. I would add to it by saying that 'vintage' itself can have many types of castings. Aurora's 'vintageness' is different from Cinderella's in terms of singing style, since Mary Costa sings straight up operatically while Ilene Woods was a more bluesy singer with no operatic background. Casting operatic voices like Dalia for Cinderella hence doesn't make much sense to me because those songs are not written for operatic singers, they're too low and slow. Even youthful operatic voices wouldn't impress me in this role I think, the singer's style also should be acknowledged while such castings are done. I like Cani, she's not the most 'authentic' sounding Cinderella but I actually genuinely enjoy listening to her. It's almost like Cally Kwong, I know she's not right for Ariel age-wise but I can't help it I LOVE her voice and singing so much. Okay I need to hear Alona fully in that song because I had a polarizing opinion on the part you used (it started off so nice and youthful, and then she brought that vibrato-heavy operatic note and it killed it for me kskjds I guess I'm too used to hearing Natalia Sosa's power-packed belt on that part that anything else doesn't feel right to me now XDD). Anna Rossi sounds...might I say...'sexy' in that part lmao. It totally throws me off and it makes her very unfitting for Cinderella but I really LIKE it lmao. I agree that Ariel sounds waay more appropriate for Cinderella, but you know what, I'd not wanna change Anna's casting just because it gave a new musical light to Cinderella songs ksksks. The Taiwanese singer is literally named 'ARIEL Sung', not...'CINDERELLA Sung', so no wonder she sounds way better on Ariel and subpar on Cindy. XDD I think I forgive Edle's overly aggressive singing because her voice is sooo pretty and bright. It's almost like Maria Haukaas but with a more bluesy vibrato so it sounds nice on Cinderella. This is a casting I wouldn't do myself if I was a casting director but I think it surprisingly works fine. lol; kinda relate for Joke, as Cinderella her voice fits perfectly by the book but somehow I still feel she sounds much more 'into it' as Belle, her Cinderella feels more like a 'dubbing job she just did for fun' or sumn ksks. But it's still so damn good a performance I can't keep her too low for it. Marie Sikulova being in the top 10 was a surprise, I don't love her at all but when you kept her that high I listened to her carefully to see 'what the HELL did JC like in HER'. Sadly, not a fan still but she sang good, and I understand why she was casted at least. Dominique, Maeva an Sohyang: The three age-defiers in dubbing I know haha. Their real ages literally don't reflect on their dubbing. LOVE LOVE LOVE, I want Dominique to sing this song at this age too and prove to me that even at 70+ she could be a better Cinderella than those half her age ksksks XD Irena too was a surprise at that position, I actually didn't knew you loved her SO much sksks....I don't think she was your #1 the last time you made a Cinderella ranking. She's quite good, probably among the better old dubs of Cinderella. Natalia though, everything you said about her I agree whole-heartedly. She totally shapeshifted her voice (not in tone but in singing style) to fit both the 1950s mellow Cinderella and the 2008 powerhouse Cinderella. It was a pleasure to see your ranking after so long.
Oh I KNEW it wasn't Shruti ! Thanks for the confirmation :) Oh yeah Anna Rossi sounds so sexy indeed ! Haha for Taiwanese I think she took this nickname just after dubbing Ariel, it's anyway a better name than "Cinderella" lol. Thanks for trying to like Marie Sikolova haha. Mmmmh I think we still hear Dominique's and Sohyang's maturity but it isn't that that bothering. Maeva is truly bluffing.
I loved the ranking❤️ It gives some nostalgic vibes. So many good and elegant voices can be heard here.🥰 I love your first place, I'm also wondering what is a reason of redubing her.
I grew up with Latin Spanish 1950 so that whole dubbing will always be my favorite, and even being objective, I find it a lot better than 97. But I am also obsessed with hearing and seeing things as they were originally intended to, so a 1950 movie with voices dubbed almost 50 years later doesnt sit right with me. However, I also grew up watching Cinderella 2 and 3 and Natalia is fantastic as a modern cinderella.
IMO we needed a Polish redub, in dialogues (sometimes also in songs) we hear an old Polish accent, the Polish "Ł" went through a revolution if we talk about pronunciation. But I prefer Irena too 🔥😂
We needed redubbing because sometimes the dialogues were translated terribly and "Czinderella" instead of Kopciuszek Still, I prefer the old cast and the old song translations
Unfortunately, but I guess the songs and character voices are the only thing that worked in the 1961 Polish dubbing. As a Pole, I can't stand "Cinderella" instead of "Kopciuszek". In addition, a lot of word games were badly translated. When it comes down to it, the second dubbing performed better. But personally, I think the best dubbing is that of the sequels.
