Raging Post Fire burns more than 15,000 acres in California | LiveNOW from FOX

- A massive brush fire broke out near the community of Gorman in northern Los Angeles County. Cal Fire says the fire has burned 15,610 acres and is 8% contained.
The Post Fire broke out just before 2 p.m. Saturday, according to Cal Fire, near the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway, north of Gorman Road.
Meanwhile, fire crews were focused on how wind speeds would impact the direction and possible size of the blaze. Red Flag warnings will prevail across the region with wind speeds up to 50 mph expected along ridge tops.
Evacuation Orders are in place for areas west of Interstate 5 between Pyramid Lake and Gorman, including the Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area. Other nearby areas are also under evacuation warnings.
One commercial property was destroyed, ten commercial properties are threatened and 50 single-family residences are threatened, officials said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is fighting the fire with the assistance of the Ventura County Fire Department.

85% of wild lands in California and throughout the west are federally owned & controlled. Roughly 95% of these uncontrollable fires start on these federal lands. Washington has been playing politics and pointing fingers for decades to avoid doing their jobs. This especially includes DT.
Maybe they should hire the illegals or the homeless to do that work, they need to do something if they are going to live there free.
@@imd1b4u No ii don’t know. If forest land is mismanaged, wildfires will continue until they change their let burn policy and change the way our forest is managed. Sometimes I wonder if this is a pre planned course to burn it all down. Montana suffers from the same problem bureaucrats that manage our federal lands too. It’s a hardship on all when fires burn throughout the summer, constant smoky skies and loss of tourism, until the snow falls. It makes no sense to me. Cut it or watch it burn.

It’s not like it’s specific to California this happens all over the world and anywhere with beautiful mountains and an endless forests deals with this. Dry heat in California very hot at times and high winds will make any fire grow.

We're lucky the Post fire is SOUTH of the 5 Freeway. It is headed toward Pyramid Lake, which is away from the freeway. Let's hope the wind stops blowing so hard. Tejon Pass is usually a windy place.

Fires are natural and WILL happen. Our fire authority seems singularly incapable of managing fire threat and outbreak in California. The whole "you have one job' meme comes to mind. Firefighters are paid VERY well. Generally they aren't fighting fires, just hanging out, polishing their trucks and grilling dinner. Did you know they get paid to sleep, including 8 hours of OT each week? Combine our lackadaisical fire fighters with domestic terrorists, and foreign terrorists streaming across our southern border wreaking havoc any way they can, including via arson, and fire disaster in California is certain.
