Hestia is heavily hinted at being the true supreme god among Olympians, though she does not behave like you would expect her to from it. She is the most prayed to Olympian, being prayed to first and last, as well as the oldest and youngest among them. +@@LDRLegend This is a myth, recounted in _Book I_ of the _Iliad._ Hera, Athena, Poseidon and Apollon all conspired to bind Zeus in chains and overthrow him.
*_imagine a tv series about the lives of each Greek gods which I wanna see Artemis being the shy girl yet being a victim of neglected love but it reminds me of 'what if gods have feelings?'_*
My top 2 choices on whom I'd like to see rule Olympus:- 1.) Hades: Often depicted as a villain in movies, Hades is actually a just and fair God. He is the eldest and, unlike his brothers, he is loyal to his wife, Persephone. He is also fair towards all those who seek his help and tests them to see if they are worthy enough. He's strong enough to keep the other Gods in check and always makes sure that justice is served. 2.) Athena: More commonly considered a cunning and jealous Goddess, Athena is actually one of the most just and fair Gods. She has often sided with humans against the Gods. Another reason is that she is the Goddess of Wisdom and Strategic Warfare. Not only that, she's also strong, just, talented, and the rightful heir to Zeus.
Realistically, I think Poseidon or Ares would try to usurp the title of King of Olympus. Poseidon is the second eldest brother, and arguably just as strong as his other two brothers. He also has an ego that needs to be satiated, if Zeus isn’t present he might be the one to desire the throne. The same can be said of Ares, though he would have the backing of Hera who would be the former Queen of Olympus at that point. In any case I agree with your original sentiment, that Athena and Hades are the ones fit to rule. I’d say Athena should defer to Hades, though. I feel he is more fair then her despite her great wisdom.
Ares, he already had a faction of gods who where loyal to him so there's his army plus he is the son of Zeus so it makes sense with the cycle (chronos overthrew his father Ouranos and then Zeus overthrew his father chronos) plus would want to punish Zeus for humiliating his mother Hera (similar motivation noth Zeus and chronos had)
I’ve heard before that it was Aphrodite who abstained from the coup out of indifference (she had enough power) and it was Hermes (ever-loyal) that freed Zeus from his chains. I guess there are different versions of this tale. Also, that ending question is silly. Zeus is the only god powerful enough, and worthy enough to rule. Hail, Zeus!
This was always one of my favorite stories, I love that the hecatonchire being freed from Zeus so long ago is still loyal and after two other supreme gods imprisoned him and his brothers isn't taking any chances. As for supreme god I have to say Hera. Her power is always less explicit but she does wield sovereign power. She even was able to offer Paris control over all Europe and Asia or all man depending on the myth. Besides that she is smart, and cunning. Plus while she gets a bad reputation going after Zeus's bastards if she is supreme god and now no cheating husband she may have a chance to really do something!
I got the quote slightly wrong " Hera said if she were chosen fairest of all women, she would make him king of all men" (Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca E3. 2 (trans. Aldrich) (Greek mythographer C2nd A.D.) Or "white-armed Hera thus took up the tale : ‘If thou wilt elect me and bestow on me the fruit of the fairer, I will make thee lord of all mine Asia" (Colluthus, Rape of Helen 15 ff (trans. Mair) (Greek poetry C5th to 6th A.D.) :
I agree. It is nice to see some loyalty from time to time in Greek mythology. As for Hera, her bad reputation is quite unwarranted. People just know the most famous stories (Heracles, Dionysos, Apollon and Artemis), but completely ignore the fact that she didn't even pay attention to 90% of the bastards of Zeus.
Ares and Aphrodite. When I think about it, it seems like that actually happened. Because this story ends with Apollo and Poseidon building the great wall of Troy but the cause of the Trojan war was the abduction of Helen by Prince Paris of Troy, who was said to have been the most beautiful woman in the world, who was married to King Menelaus of Sparta.
Aphrodite would probably spend her time shipping the mortals and Gods while Ares would probably cause needless chaos and war with his newfound position.
I think that Apollo (maybe with Artemis alongside him) would make a good ruler. Being that he’s the god of prophecy he must have a pretty good idea about what happens in the future and what’s the best course to take.
Hera was sorta like a mother goddess or a lust goddess similar when Ancient Greece wasn't ruled by patriarchs. Zeus really wasn't known to the early Greeks wgi ch were in Crete.
Do y’all even know Poseidon (and not the one from Percy Jackson) Poseidon May be strong but the way his personality is, he would never be a good god for the throne
Poseidon would be even worse. You think Zeus can be temperamental, the reason why the seas can be very rough and we have earthquakes is because Poseidon is mostly always in a bad mood. Being the lord of the sky would give the world even worse weather.
@@sppypp3606 the goddess Hestia is inexperienced insuch matters of ruling. Also Lord Hades has the Underworld to reign over. According to a prophecy the son of titan Metis (Lady Athena's mother) son would world the power to overthrow Lord Zeus and rule over Mount Olympus. Since that could not happen, it is only fitting that another child of Titan Metis, Lady Athena rule Mount Olympus after Lord Zeus.

Hadies😊
It's Hades not hadies
Hades+Ladies=ladies
After all the things she did, Hera probably would be a better ruler then her husband Zeus
That would keep men from cheating on that wives but fear of divine retribution
James Ricker no no it wouldn’t as that was a pretty sexist comment there
Woman cannot rule man
Meh she's not much better than Zeus
Huh she’s the goddesss of revenge!
The current Emperor of Rome speaking to Maximus, General of the Army..."Maximus, I want you to succeed me and be the Emperor of Rome, not my son...Do You Accept My Offer?" Maximus replies..."With All My Heart...No"...The Emperor says..."And That Is Why It Must Be You"...
Anthony Falk And that’s why we should let Hades or Hestia rule 😎
"MAXIMUS, MAXIMUS
THE MERCIFUL!"
Athena would be the perfect replacement to Zeus
Bruh 1 M subs congrats!
I would like to see Hades, tbh
Mee too
Should be me
same
In my opinion, Apollo should have the thrown. He was the god of the sun and the god of the human mind, of the arts, sciences etc. Or Athena, as she was the god of wisdom. Hades wouldn't get the thrown, because of his nature. He was the god of the Underworld, the land of the Dead. The Dominion over sky, life and the entire universe it just doesn't fit him. Ancient Greeks didn't even had temples for him, because of it's connection with death. Because he was the eldest kid of Kronos and Rea doesn't necessarily gives him more wisdom than Zeus, who was the youngest. Great video, if you can please do a video about the rest of the Story, with Poseidon and Apollo work in Troy.
P.S. Please excuse me if I made any mistakes. I'm Greek so, English aren't my first language.
:)
Apollo would let that power go straight to his head. I think it’s a no for me
Hades got a temple too...
Good video
I love Hestia ( she is godess of my Zodiac ) and Hades the God of underworld
i don't know why i love Greek mythology so much like that.
Athena she is the only child that has power nearly equal to Zeus and his first choice as heir.
aria 66 You know Zeus birthed Athena himself? She emerged from Zeus' head. Athena has no mother, she's only daugther to Zeus.
Wrong, her mother was metis, Zeus ate her when she was pregnant while she was a fly
Athena was not good goddess
Athena is super loyal to Zeus she would have been the 1 to free him if this was a real greek myth
+@@LDRLegend
This is a myth, recounted in _Book I_ of the _Iliad._ Hera, Athena, Poseidon and Apollon all conspired to bind Zeus in chains and overthrow him.
Honestly I think Hades should take the throne
me too
He don't want it, he rarely left the underworld of his own will
Knowing Hades he might just support one of Zeus's kids. Probably Athena since he is on good terms with her.
There is cult in Orphism that holds Hades as well as Dionysos (sometimes fuse them together) as the rightful ruler of Olympus and the cosmos.
*_imagine a tv series about the lives of each Greek gods which I wanna see Artemis being the shy girl yet being a victim of neglected love but it reminds me of 'what if gods have feelings?'_*
I know she's not an Olympian, but my vote is for Hecate. Nothing rivals that kind of power

My top 2 choices on whom I'd like to see rule Olympus:-
1.) Hades: Often depicted as a villain in movies, Hades is actually a just and fair God.
Hail, Zeus!
I feel like hades is not as powerful as Zeus but still is more then enough worthy to rule
Honestly, I think someone like Athena should rule. She would wisdom to humans and is quite just (ignore Arachne)
Medusa thing remember well she will be better rule than zeus but she has ego too has she is zeus daughter
@@agastya5128 also the arachne thing.
:)
Ben Rendall Asia and Europe?
I got the quote slightly wrong
" Hera said if she were chosen fairest of all women, she would make him king of all men" (Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca E3. 2 (trans. Aldrich) (Greek mythographer C2nd A.D.)
Or "white-armed Hera thus took up the tale : ‘If thou wilt elect me and bestow on me the fruit of the fairer, I will make thee lord of all mine Asia" (Colluthus, Rape of Helen 15 ff (trans.
Hestia should have the throne. Humble and kind goddess would make the world much better
Kratos :- hello father !
I can imagine Hestia eating popcorn watching all this
Honestly I prefer Poseidon..not because I'm a fan of Percy Jackson but because that trident looks awesome
Geez Same dude
I- Poseidon is almost if not just as bad as Zeus. I understand Percy Jackson series really watered down how bad he was, but the god is trash
@@timothiturner5218 Plus the reason why the seas are often raging is because Poseidon is the most temperamental god, even more than Zeus.
Poseidon all the way
Percy Jackson squad
Percy jackson is not a god 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Percy Jackson stories make a mockery of greek mythology
@@LDRLegend You're spitting truth
Yass!!!
Yup
Poseidon
This is why I really like Greek and Roman and Norse and Hindu mythology their stories and legends are so interesting
In history great stories always 👍🏻🌹
I think that Apollo (maybe with Artemis alongside him) would make a good ruler. Being that he’s the god of prophecy he must have a pretty good idea about what happens in the future and what’s the best course to take.
I bet Artemis wouldn't like it
Zeus should be on the throne or he would kill me if I took another name
I prefer Hestia. The Goddess of Hearth, Home and Family ❤.
I also love to see Demeter in the throne ❤.
Overall, Hades and Persephone are the best ❤.
Man Zeus is so cool
Wow! And I thought I was the only special boy who wanted Hades to be the king of the gods and universe
Hades should get the throne
Hera was sorta like a mother goddess or a lust goddess similar when Ancient Greece wasn't ruled by patriarchs. Zeus really wasn't known to the early Greeks wgi ch were in Crete.
well maybe in later times she decided to marry and settle down
Poseidon should be on the supreme throne he is dope
He's the coolest imo
Do y’all even know Poseidon (and not the one from Percy Jackson) Poseidon May be strong but the way his personality is, he would never be a good god for the throne
Poseidon would be even worse. You think Zeus can be temperamental, the reason why the seas can be very rough and we have earthquakes is because Poseidon is mostly always in a bad mood. Being the lord of the sky would give the world even worse weather.
I would like to see hades on the throne because he pretty chill and equal about everything
*Kratos watching this video*
Kratos:hmmm
Hades😈
he isn't a devil
Hades would be the best
yea
Why have I been watching these videos..
Simple, I bought AC Odyssey and wanted to learn more of greek mythology
Same
Thank you, I'm not sure just yet how I will use this info, but it's very useful!
Challenging Zeus. Now that's an awfully dumb idea. He the most powerful.
My top 5
1.Hades
2.Poseiden
3.Artemis
4.Athena
5.Ares
I would really really love to see a movie about the gods in greek mythlogy. If possible cause eveything is just so interesting
Imma go with Aries. As the supreme god that would be cool and a lil scary
Ares would be a horrible choice as he is the God of War and he'd probably ruin the world if he were supreme
It is Lady Athena the wisest of all the gods who should be queen of Olympus.
but that doesn’t mean the best for the throne hades or hestia would be better as they are the eldest
God no , a titan Prometheus the only one who really have ever cared about humanity
The Olympians would never let a titan take the throne
@@lordInquisitor then let hades have it he the oldest and nicest
@@jotarokujo4250 with how " charismatic" he is ? Nope he is fair but he is not exactly very popular in Olympus . besides if Zeus was not in the picture the second most powerful Olympian , posideon , or his favourite child Athena would take the throne .
@@lordInquisitor aw
@@jotarokujo4250 Actually it was basically that the gods took a bunch of sticks and randomly picked. The guy with the longest stick chose how the world works. So there was a chance hades could have been the king. He's saying the scenario where the rebellion succeeded not where hades won the stick competition.
The goddess Hestia is the eldest amongst all Olympians.. So she deserves the Thorne
Aphrodite is the eldest but Aphrodite didn't deserve the throne
Let’s be honest: without Zeus it would’ve been chaos all over
Also if you have any knowledge of Greek mythology, you would know that the throne would only fit Apollo as he is the greatest son of Zeus.
I saw a Netflix show about this
"Then zeus created a powerful weapon, to end the great war. A weapon forged from heavens and the earth"
well i would still go for Zeus after all without Zeus his sibling would still in the stomach of their father and Chronus will still ruling the gods
Dark Angel Well, he was born as the last one. He was lucky.
That's the only good thing he has done
Dark angel he just lucky geing at the right time if it was hades or Poseidon they would have done same thing
True but then after he cheated so that that he can rule Olympus
Just because he did that one good deed doesn't mean all the bad things he's done should be overlooked.
Ares,he has experience with wars so he should be able to stop those who oppose him and Hera intended for Ares to overthrow Zeus
Lol Ares is actually the least likely candidate. His nature goes against everything it takes to be a good leader. That’s why majority of the Greeks favored Athena & the reason she’s the actual heir to the throne.
Athena was actually prophesied to overthrow zues. It's why zues ate her mother before she could give birth
@@sammiboibenton no Zeus and Athena's mothers 2nd son was to overthrow Zeus that's why Zeus drank her mother and Athena's came out of his head
@@xreid66 athena would be even worse she gets mad like a little kid when someone says something about her ffs she turned a girl to a spider just cause she was better than her. Athena acts to much like a kid in my opinion hades would be the best
Black Eye Graal That version of Athena is not from the Greek source material. That’s an interpretation from Roman poet Ovid who came around well after Athena & those stories were already established. Why do you think they sound so out of character from how she’s usually described? If you’re going to go off of those interpretations I’m pretty sure Hades was a kidnapping rapist lol. Also in much more older myths Hades & Zeus were considered the same god just different personifications by some folks. Referred to as chthonic Zeus (chthonic meaning “of the underworld”) soooo yeah...
I think Athena shouldve been in the throne because shes wise but i also think Hades would be good because hes a banevolent ruler but Zues also deserves it because for saving his siblings.
Except, Zeus did so much more than just saving his siblings. That's the least impressive of his accomplishments.
I agree with you. Hades would be a good ruler, but I doubt he's interested. Athena is wise and out of the three choices the video talks about is the least likely to ruin Olympus
It's a bit funny how everything ties to Troy in the end.
Y’all are sleeping on Poseidon. This man supposedly used to be worshiped as the head god before the dark ages of Greece, and he ruled Atlantis which never had civil wars like this
