Day 1 of Destiny 1. Warlock at heart. Secondary Hunter. Haven't played Titan since Curse of Osiris, and soon I might start on Titan again.
BADASS GAMING I started playing when taking king cane out and my best memory was when me and my team went through the vault of glass and I got the exotic that came with it on the first go.
I jumped in when forsaken came out. Fell in love with the lore and gameplay and couldnt wait to get home from work and go grind last wish with my friends for the flippin 1k voices (WHICH I STILL DONT HAVE). Love this game.

Yep, I remember when we were getting kicked out the first two weeks... Damn weasel showing everytime. But yeh liked more the deep voice of dinklebot
Those were the good old days
I never used the loot cave surprisingly, I was always screwing around in the vault of glass or in the crucible. I didn't really need engrams because I got lucky and got a badass arc machine gun early, basically a mini thunderlord but a legendary. Zombie apocalypse I think it was named? Real beast, held 75 rounds and was basically a full auto sniper rifle. The vault of glass was like a second home. Except I was with a bunch of friends and would just join in to help anyone complete it hahaha! Couldn't get enough, stayed up super late!
Also Randal the Vandal was a thing, never forget.

I love the feeling I get from this game. The way we get to say “I was there when” or “I remember how” no game will make me feel the way this has for as long as it has. I’m glad we can all experience this game together

I remember when i first watched a trailer about it, never got so hype for a game like D1, got the game as soon as it came out , played so much that i got over 250 hours in a month i remember getting every DLC to play with my buddy's,i, remember the hours spent trying and doing vault of glass,crotas end,prison of elders and knights fall, remember the satisfaction,pain,fun memory's from all that time,i missed dinklebot, went through the story on all my characters hunter,warlock and titan that memorable moment when i awake and see dinklebot
sadly rise of iron was the last straw i couldn't afford it at the time so i gave up on D1 then i saw D2 i was happy but saw how the game was made and i felt betrayed didn't even try it when it was on free trial
but then the news of bungie leaving activision and keeping Destiny it gave me hope
now i play it every day that it came out on steam playing with my buddies and having such a great time figuring out how to do everything again im glad i get to play my favorite game again

Yeah i experienced the same story you did, the pain, the satisfaction, the fun and the pain again of conquering all the toughest content in D1, except where you quit in Rise of Iron, i quit on Destiny 2's release, Bungie burned us so bad on Destiny 2's release
We all know how bad Destiny 1's Year 1 actually was, but it got sooooo good in the coming years and then Bungie went and downgraded back to D1 Year 1 for Destiny 2 Year 1, garbage expansions, with Stories as garbage as Destiny 1 year 1, garbage loot and some of the ugliest armor to date with cries and cries from the community to stop making ugly armor and bring back the cool shit from Destiny 1.
They got their stuff together for D2 Year 2 Forsaken though, that's when i joined back and have been in love ever since. Not looking forward to Bungie devolving back to Destiny 1 Year 1 for Destiny 3's eventual release who knows how many years down the road from now though, that's going to be a dark time again, fool me once, but not twice.
This went from Nostalgic to Meme-ish and then Motivational.
Good Work and Content Back then and even Better now.

I've been playing since the D1 beta and my ghost was a Dinklebot. Best memory: getting the gally from a strike drop. Worst memory: playing Osiris dlc🤢. One positive thing about that dlc: Saint-14's quest. I want to do that again.👍👍

I'm also d1 beta player me and my hunter have been through a lot together but the osiris dlc almost made me drop the whole game together but forsaken brought me back and have to agree on the saint 14 quest it was the only good thing to happen in that dlc .

Destiny has been a corner stone of my life for the past 5 years, and damn am I proud of being a a part of it.
I have played Destiny since day one (both of them) and I swear I almost cried while watching this video. I honestly thought back to all the memories I’ve made while playing these games and realized how important and influential they have been in my life. Thank you BA for reminding me of this. STORY TIME bout my life with Destiny..
When the beta came out i was barely 17. Played the shit out of it. Would bring my game to my girlfriends house to play it that i was with already a year.
When it released i played the shit out of it senior year of highschool. Class of 2015 ✌
My first year of college in 2015-2016 i actually bought the ttk dlc cause im a legacy player on ps3. Never bothered to upgrade and didn't because of the time i put in this game. My still girlfriend at the time finally gave in and made a warlock but never played.
End of 2017 she finally began playing it and she was hooked like crack to it. Loved seeing her play and enjoy a passion of mine but got sick of her making so many noob mistakes and playing slowly. But i understood why she doesnt really play. Took her 6 months to get to level 40 😂😂😂
End of December of 2018 almost 2019 now. Im not with that girl anymore recently. Ended a 5 year relationship. However I still play this game very often on my ps3.. Even her warlock to max light. Its crazy over the years from being a noob and not knowing how to do something to knowing everything the game offers. Being the leader of raids. Finding new players and experienced ones like myself. Not many of us around from the beginning, kind of sad honestly.
At the end of 2019 being near. I no longer play destiny sadly due to my ps3 breaking, however I am beginning my journey in destiny 2 on xbox, hoping to get the same feels from the original

I was a week one player for the first game and a day one player for the second game, like one of the first to be on the servers. I remember staying up until 5 am just to be reset in the queue for the siva dlc and ordering pizza to play it all day. I got a upgraded tv for Christmas that year and saw it in a completely new light. I lost and gained friends playing that game and it will always be a part of my life. I have the titan insignia as a tattoo and I’m going to get the hunter and warlock ones as well, and maybe the eliksni letter for J cause that’s what my name starts for. Played since launch, I still remember hearing of “a game on PS4 that will be a mix of COD and WoW” but it was far much more than that. Imperfection is perfection.
Some of the best memories I’ve had gaming in my life. I was a no life sweat in D1. Even went from Xbox 360 to Xbox one so I could play with some of my friends. I experienced a lot of things in life while this game has gone on, but I have always stuck with it. Brings a tear to a grown mans eye watching this :’)

Don’t worry Meh, I’m basically in the same boat. Year 1 played, never went flawless but did everything else in D1, but in D2, I have done Levi and EP, but I haven’t done Spire of Stars, Argos, Last Wish, Reckoning, Scourge of the Past, GoS, and the Opulence raid. I should really do that stuff
I was at the launch of Destiny 1. I left after year 2 was a pay wall and all my gear was useless. That's until Destiny 2 was soon to be released and I bought Destinys complete edition cheaper. Still wasn't the same and haven't played since, I should join back!

Brings back so many memories I've been playing from the start and I remember everything from glitches to f*ck ups and fails
I've been consistently playing ever since Destiny 1's Beta on my Xbox 360. My favorite memory, although you could say this may be my friend's worst, was when I first beat Vault of Glass on Hard Mode. He lagged out on our last damage phase, just as we were about to kill Atheon after many, many attempts. I ended up getting the Vex Mythoclast on my first completion, was trash talked by my other teammates for being lucky and slightly screaming like a little girl sometime after midnight, and got to use it in its prime in the Crucible. He got back on and didn't believe we had actualy beaten it and that I had got arguably the rarest gun in the game at the time. He may have began shedding some tears for a bit too over not finishing it, but I helped him find another group and we comleted it. My worst memory is easily the moment I realized that Destiny 2 was not the game I fell in love with. I wouldn't say it was a specific moment in time, but more so a gradual understanding that I was not happy with the game in one too many ways. We've come quite far from then, but I feel as though its effect can still be felt to this day. I still played during the dark days that were all of Destiny 2, Year 1, but I held out hope that this franchise would go back to its roots, and boy am I glad I did :)
This five years were the best i have spent playing with friends and family on destiny thank you bungie for an amazing 5 years and im looking forward in the future

I've been playing since day 1 and my all time favorite moment has to be getting the gally for the first time from Iron Banner not even realizing how good it was but I was so happy because it was my first exotic. It became a running gag that I have the best luck when it came to raids and it still is.
Most of my fellow guardians along the way have stopped playing however and there's only about 2-3 of us now. I have extreme social anxiety so it can be hard to work up the courage to hop on lfg to do raids with blueberries.
But I remember the old days of farming VOG or Crota every week to get that 1 drop you always wanted. Or just to do them for fun because that's what they were. Just a good fun time.
I think the game is in the best spot it's ever been in but my favorite memories will always be of year 1-2. Everything was new and exciting and it was great to delve into an unknown world that felt like home.
I don't think I could ever play it like I once did however with most of my friends losing interest in it, since playing with friends is the most fun for me.
But nonetheless I'll continue to play until Destiny has run it's course and I hope to meet new guardians along the way :)

Started playing in the d1 alpha and although I've taken some breaks along the way im still playing to this day with the same group of friends i started with along with picking up a few new ones along the way. Destiny has been a big part of my life and I'll never forget the memories I've made with it.
I grew up with Destiny which is why seeing this nearly brought me to tears. I've played since D1 beta and back then I was barely 11 years old. I've grown so much since then and I'm so grateful for what I got to experience with this amazing community. The characteristics I have today were influenced by these beautiful moments and I can't think of any better way of spending my childhood. Thank you guys so much for the experiences you've given me. Cheers to an amazing 5 years and cheers to another. I love this community so much and I cant thank you all enough.

Out of all the games I have played, no other game has built such a community as this one. The amount of real friends you make and the amount of fun and support people give is unmatched by any other games community imo. Such an amazing game that bungie has built. Albeit expensive, amazing. I got D1 in October of 2014 when I was in 7th grade. I still remember my first raid and being called a squeaker.
Now I’m a senior in high school and still talk to friends I made through Destiny and still play this game every weekend. The game truly changed my life and while this may seem dramatic, I don’t know where I’d be without it.
The ups, the downs, the twists and turns of my life, I’ve always had Destiny to turn to. The world, the community...
I love it all.

I didn't get to fully sink my teeth into Year 1 of D1 like most people, but its crazy how nostalgic we all can be for a game that really only game out about 5 years ago.
It takes a special type of connection to come back to Destiny after all these years - whether its the friends you play every day with, the metas you absolutely hated, or the feeling of absolute burnout most veterans experience.
I didn't think I'd come back after taking 8 months off the game during Forsaken, but sometimes you get that itch inside, and you load up the game you said you were finished with.
Now I'm back at it with Destiny for good pretty much, and I hope to all the new light people that join us can see or understand why we've been no-lifing this game for almost 5 years.

I knew every little nuance of the D1 section, every bug, every glitch, ever tangent if pure goddamn raw emotion of success and frustration. From the Mythoclast in Crucible to Cheesing Aetheon and the ENTIRETY of Crota, I knew it all and am astonished realizing that I’m a 5 year long Destiny player, from the D1 preorder to current day.

I love destiny as a whole I’ve been with this game since D1 Y1 and haven’t found a reason to leave it yet! Favorite memory has to be 2 manning Crota though and the sword glitch from the totems. Good memories especially with the dinklebot... that hit hard
Yea I wish destiny year 1 with dinklebot and the two original dlcs were a separate game. I'd play the $hit out of that for nostalgia! Back before they nerfed that field perk to carry extra ammo and have bigger magazines.

This is what a community is. When I started playing, it was just after my birthday, i started in year 2 of Destiny 1, and I was in love, I made so many friends so quickly and met even more people because of the helpful community there was back in the day. Today I just got 100% completion for trophies in all the DLC’s and base. I never played the D2 DLC’s because I could never get Into it and felt D2 was somewhat of a disappointment. Nevertheless, I always enjoyed the lore and connections and history everything had. Thank you Bungie.
I remember Y1, man the good old days. First crota clear, first kings fall clear... So many memories. The game might have been bad at the start but i stuck all the way until now and oh boy was that worth it. Best game ever, no other game will make me have as much memories and fun times as this one. Love the community aswell.

"Tether infinity" was really something fun or raging, in pvp, depending the side you are on.
I started playing back in December 2014 yes I was a year one Christmas noob, my favorite time playing destiny was in the taken king" or known as the comet dlc back in the day" I made so many friends in the game and I graduated high school that same year.
I still love this game so much but I just dont have the time to play as much as I use to between family, work and college I'm lucky I can watch a bit of RUclips before bed.
The destiny series will always have that special place in my heart.

Destiny isnt perfect but there is no game or no franchise i rather back up so wholeheartedly and no game or franchise that id rather play every day for 5 years. I love this game to pieces. I love the good and bad. I love the awful metas and amazing community. I love the nerfs that make you cry, the buffs that make you amazed and the changes that just plain confuse you. I love this game and I never will get tired of being a guardian. DESTINY FOREVER!!!

I love this game since September 2014 I played it throughout the whole years and I've been watching you play for those years to and I have to say you got to keep up the good job keep playing the game and hopefully one day when we played when you play the game I'll be there to play it with you or against you whichever one works
God hearing dinklebots voice for the first time in years was great. I've played since I was 13 and the beta came out. Now I'm 18, becoming an adult, and still this game, through thick and thin, content drought and broken weapons, is fantastic. And this video took all those feelings and made them physical. Thank you BA, for this trip down memory lane.

I started in new light and I already have an experience with this game I won't forget.
I recently completed the Zero Hour quest for Perfected Outbreak and when I completed it I felt like I achieved something. Everyone was saying that the quest was difficult but even then I said that I could do it. It was hard but I did it and when I saw the weapon drop I was full of joy. It was amazing challenging myself and overcoming that challenge. I'll never forget it.
